Try switching to yt-dlp instead. It's a command line tool, but it only updates itself when you tell it to.

A nhd15 isnt gonna cool a stock 13900k. You'll have to undervolt and tweak it as these are incredibly inneficient.

    A u12a stands NO CHANCE. Can't even cool a 13700k let alone the furnace of a 13900k.

I recommend you seriously revise the cooler.

Also 100pounds for a u12? Geez overpriced much. You got ripped off.

Otherwise all is fine but that cooler stands no chance.

    Check temps?

Probably at 100c or right around it and therm throthling as most laptops cant rin this cpu at full load for shit as it runs WAY too hot.

So check temps. Intel xtu will inform you a lot too. Probably gonna nees to undevolt to get somewhere near to the performance you paid for.

Yeah but it doesn't have any bios to run the 5000 series out of the box. They never got that update applied to them and it was up to the end user to do so.

Hence why it won't work. It doesn't have the bios to run a 5000 series chip on it unless you update it and you need a different cpu for that.

I know just out of the box this board simply doesn't have the bios needed to run 5000 series. You need to update it with a different cpu.

If you have the ml120 and can't send it back keep it. It's not a good cooler for the money AT ALL but it should be ok enough for a 12400f.

For 35$ a peerless assasin 120 is available and obliterates the m120 and ml240 easily as well as competes with a lot of high end coolers. The ml series is usually amongst the worst of aio coolers.

jaslion got a reaction from KennethC90 in Case for SFF motherboard, how to check if they are compatible?
Your optiplex uses a NON STANDARD board that DOES NOT follow atx board rules so it can only fit in it's own case.

It also uses a proprietary psu and other cabling so removing it from its case will impact functionality.

Your sff 9020 CAN fit a 1650 but it has to be a LOW PROFILE unit. This is a half height gpu like your gt1030.

If you do want to caseswap you will need a new cooler, psu + adpaters to make it work and case at the minimum that you'll have to drill in to to modify it.

This is gonna cost just as much if not more than a tower version of this old system.

What are rhe specs of this one? Depending on that its simply more cost effective to replace instead of modify.

jaslion got a reaction from FatGuy88 in VR headset for productivity
Simply put no vr headset is good for productivity. So many people have tried but they all fail.

The headsets are simply just not comfortable for very long use, cause eyestrain after an hour or 2, motion sickness is quite common, They don't have a long battery life, unsharpness of text,...

Vr headsets are really only good at entertainment right now.

There's a reason ar and vr workplaces have failed to take off every single time.

You can try facebooks quests and see if they do it for you but dont get your hopes up.

A desk and a monitor or 2 will simply be better for productivity.

jaslion reacted to TatamiMatt in Upgrading everything except ssd's and gpu. Do I need a clean install?/how
It should be fine but id recommend a clean install as it will clean up any software bloating and floating drivers you dont need. As for backing up data, im not actually sure, however, you could  just make a zip folder of everything you need on one drive, pop it into the 2nd one, then reinstall windows. Once done bring the zip folder back and unpack.

I mean the thing is that unless you need a 670e feature you simply wont notice any differece between a gigabyet b650 ds3h or ax elite.

So my vote would be none of these or if I have to the cheapest one since they all are overkill for what you need.

I also assume this is more than just a gaming pc?

Just get a long usb cable and 2 optical displayport cables. Doesnt get much more future proof than that.

Using docks, convertors,... all of that adds complexity that isnt needed and points of failiure or points that may no longer wor properly in the future.

Best thing about just 3 cables its about as cheap as it gets!

No. Doesnt have the bandwith for it.

Also you dont have thunderbolt. So the thunderbolt solution wont work.

Also keep in mind desktop thunderbolt NEEDS DISPLAY INJECTION. If it doesnt have a gpu going into it no display. Then it is entirely up to the thunderbolt card, gpu, dock AND display of displayport mst is supported.

Just a massive headache really. Keep it simple
