  1. Yeah its just the standard 90's/early 2000 generic oem case mod advice. Also take off all pcie slot covers if they arent vented. Will make an exit path to help the gpu keep cooled. Also defo get something better than a stock cooler a be quiet pure rock 2 is a 92mm cooler and 20$ however possibly a thermalright 120mm cooler fits and is like 17$. The main thing you simply shouldnt use is the thermaltake smart. They are genuinly terrible and it would be a shame to ruin a pc because of it. 50$ is enough to get a good enough psu. Else well if you want optical drives get some too for 1$ a piece! Or if ya wanna really reuse the originals you can use a ide pcie card.
  2. Check the bands they have. Most international releases should support enough bands to work in Canada and most of Europe. Keep in mind the software DID NOT GET BETTER on a 10t. Hardware wise it's a good phone the software just legitimately sucks. If you can get past that and do some mods to make it work better it's a good value. Anything else you need in a phone? Like things you need it to have or anything?
  3. It really depends on what you remove. Basically look at arch or other ultra low usage distro's. They are as low as a current day functional kernel can get. You can just use a legit pure linux kernel with nothing but the absolute core components and have some megabytes of ram used if even that. But well it will basically just do a hello world print and thats it. Pretty much depends on what you deem usable. Also keep in mind high memory usage in the form of caching in ram isn't a bad thing at all. Can really speed things up. Sometimes the unused resources are wasted resources way of thinking is not wrong
  4. Yes some boards may disable the igpu when a dgpu is plugged in but that is basically just change a setting in the bios and you are good to go. Id also not overspend on a x670 board unless you are one of the 10 people that actually need a feature it has. A gigabyte b650 ds3h or ax elite is MORE than enough to run a maxed 7950x3d no sweat.
  5. Order online basically. All in store ones are normally costlier due to phone plan deals and well simply operating cost of a physical location/employees. Why that one? It's one of the top value for what you get phone rn. Can be found under 400cad easily normally. There is also the f series but basically look up which one aligns best with you. Only thing you'll want to do is go into settings and change the notification drawer from not iphone style back to android. It's a typical thing in miui skins.
  6. Then do it. Just do it. The is it worth question will get the only real proper answer and that is well it's not worth it. The time, effort and endless frustration isn't worth the 0.2 seconds you save on clicking the file browser basically But if it is to learn and mess around? Fuck it go for it. Just euhh don't do this on your main machine but on something else or a vm because well it's extremely easy to fuck shit up
  7. A xiaomi poco x6 would be a great other device.
  8. If you have the ml120 and can't send it back keep it. It's not a good cooler for the money AT ALL but it should be ok enough for a 12400f. For 35$ a peerless assasin 120 is available and obliterates the m120 and ml240 easily as well as competes with a lot of high end coolers. The ml series is usually amongst the worst of aio coolers.
  9. That is normal. Old stock so keep the price high for people that still want it. However for amazon old stock that doesn't move = a big issue since they are a massive shipment company so lower the price and get rid of them. I wouldnt get a 10t now for 420$ tho poor value.
  10. These are all terrible deals. Like these are 100$ and less ebay laptops. https://www.ebay.com/itm/355641275875?itmmeta=01HW7JEM6KQHMZTTAMD19C4G3Q&hash=item52cddf35e3:g:qTEAAOSw7wRmHrBN&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAAwD3PR8RRS%2Fl4FV9qA0%2FODVk1Gk4R8urSrV822DJReADsqdWIQX2A%2FHUe2PdqXJ5hNyZKCeyJdvo9JztKEyHOT1XLJBR878QbgifJTM54JYiB6MDVhNTEg%2BUuLzXDYeAm%2BqyVoMXuJxnygDshTV5viV%2FIgCp4Z%2BeDOvNZ2RxbiV50B7fAdVF%2BJCETIME4p9hwPgzGxAEdqC%2FN2Rj%2BkGrdcHY5AfP1MtImqJksJ7Lz9Ob1af2k%2F1uZpwY33ur2nlj3nQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR87DuvLhYw All of 2 seconds on ebat and this laptop is SO much better its not even funny.
  11. Online marketplaces like amazon tend to be able to pricematch and correct on the fly. So just buy one online and then get a phone plan for it.
  12. Oh geez this pc is gonna be even worse then. Hope this was the 50$ it was worth because that i3 is just not gonna cut it for photoshop and the like. It will be slow. Adding a gpu won't do much if anything here. I recommend you put the 500$ to a whole different pc because this is not the one for you
  13. Genuinly just buy a used gaming desktop. 500$ is plenty good to get a GOOD gaming pc used. This optiplex is going to be TERRIBLE as it has a super slow old i3 its never going to be good for gaming eith that and the replacement i7's for that gen are stupud expensive for something that gets its ass handed to it by todays low end cpu's. Return this box or sell it and make a build your own post This is a moneysink that will cost you more to get a crappy pc than just start over.
  14. Yup made 3 builds with the asrock x570 aqua ultra limited run product. All 3 are EXTREMELY picky about power cables (stock rm1000? sure EXCEPT the 8pin that needs to be cablemods HOWEVER dont you dare use it for the 24!!!) also the rgb is like randomly inverted for some elements and the acrylic is extremely fragile. Also an ass for when you use multiple m.2's as sometimes it just doesnt work
  15. Did this system work beforehand?
  16. I mean the thing is that unless you need a 670e feature you simply wont notice any differece between a gigabyet b650 ds3h or ax elite. So my vote would be none of these or if I have to the cheapest one since they all are overkill for what you need. I also assume this is more than just a gaming pc?
  17. I dont think I understand your question. Do you want an offline installed game or something?
  18. Sure thats possible just look for an activr usb cable of that desired length
  19. Arent these just webgames? Theyll run on your pc fine
  20. I mean you could if the cable you get is proper usb 3 Else well just run a lan cable?
  21. Just get a long usb cable and 2 optical displayport cables. Doesnt get much more future proof than that. Using docks, convertors,... all of that adds complexity that isnt needed and points of failiure or points that may no longer wor properly in the future. Best thing about just 3 cables its about as cheap as it gets! No. Doesnt have the bandwith for it. Also you dont have thunderbolt. So the thunderbolt solution wont work. Also keep in mind desktop thunderbolt NEEDS DISPLAY INJECTION. If it doesnt have a gpu going into it no display. Then it is entirely up to the thunderbolt card, gpu, dock AND display of displayport mst is supported. Just a massive headache really. Keep it simple
  22. Depends on what you are looking at really. To broad of a class of products to say rhey are good or bad. Some are terrible others are nice depends on the usecase really.
  23. Yes, however they need WAY more power than the 5w a desktop usb port can deliver. There are displays that do it HOWEVER DESKTOP AND LAPTOP THUNDERBOLT ARE NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!! Desktop thunderbolt has way more optional features like power delivery, display signal carry,... So whilst technically possible a desktop isn't considered in the making of these portable displays that can run off of usb c as the usb port is simply not enough power. There are some that will run off one or 2 usb power and then have a hdmi cable for display, but that doesn't help with cable clutter. These displays are also quite basic. So just keep using a normal display.
