bios is up to date

just tried each set of cables interchangeably on a single gpu. its not the cables.
-
i was beginning to think this as well but its odd as a single gpu will work in either slot.
-
maybe. i assumed 750 would be enough.
-
singular cards working in either slot

disclaimer: i have reposted this topic here as opposed to just in the troubleshooting section as someone thought it might get more responses. ok, so i have a fun one.... i own 2 rigs. one for me and one for my gf. i recently upgraded my gpu and decided to put the old one in sli on my gf's rig, giving her 2 gtx 780's in sli. it is on an msi z87-gd65 gaming motherboard. finished installing and booted, but no sli option where it should be in the nvidia control panel. i tested each card individually, they work. i swapped locations on the motherboard, still no sli option. i read the manual to make sure they were in the correct pci slots, they were correctly in slots 2 and 5. i switched them anyway, obviously no improvement there. i popped out both cards and put them in MY rig- worked like a charm. i attempted using ddu, to no avail. i tried a completely fresh install of windows and all drivers- no luck. nothing on the motherboard, gpu or bridge show any sign to suggest fault. i am at the end of my rope on this one. can anybody help? pretty please? im begging.

i used the same in both systems. i also grabbed a second bridge with the same results.
-
it sees both cards, just not showing sli option. wattage is 750

First off, i've finally got the funds to start building a wonderful machine. My build, however is not yet complete. some of the parts listed are parts that will be changing in the near future but are what i am stuck with for the moment. my build: OS: Windows 7 Ultimate-64 bit motherboard: Asus x99-E WS cpu: Intel 5960x running at stock until issues are resolved. ram: Gskill 2400 Mhz 16GB power supply: Corsair 1500i graphics card: Gtx 780 storage: 1- Gskill 480GB phoenix blade ssd 2- WD red, 6TB HDD in Raid 1 1- mushkin 240GB ssd (to be removed) 1- problematic intel 530 series 80GB m.2 ssd my issues with this setup have been many. my current issues though is with my intel m.2 ssd. neither the bios nor windows seems to see it. i cannot find a fix to this. my bios is up to date and i have had several problems previously with windows not wanting to recognise my hard drives on this platform. my gskill and WD drives weren't recognized until i learned to load the raid driver during windows installation. however, seeing as this new ssd is in no raid configuration, that fix won't be the issue. i have loaded windows on the mushkin ssd temporarily, as to open up disk management and format the new ssd, but it will not show up there either. i have gone into the advanced tab in the bios, gone to onboard device config, but the option normally there in the z97 mobos for enabling m.2 are not found. so, does anybody out there know why i wouldn't be able to find this new m.2 when i load windows for an install?
