  1. Hi, i want to upgrade to a bigger SSD and i'm wondering if my Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 motherboard is compatible with it? I want to buy a PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD, but i don't really understand the sharing of PCI lanes and the different versions of PCI. I dont want my graphics card (installed in PCIX16 slot) and my wireless internet adapter (installed in upmost PCIEX1_1 slot) to suffer from this upgrade. Currently i use a SSD with a regular SATA 6Gb/s port. Thanks for any help! Link to MOBO manual: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z97x-gaming3_e.pdf
  2. these seem great but if im getting a pair of wireless headphones id like the ability to connect with aux aswell, like in the scenario of being on a plane.
  3. Update: my friend told me he could get me a pair of sennheiser Momentum 2 for about a hundred dollars of because he works at a store which sells them. Is this a good bargain? They do look really cool, and i have tried them on earlier, and they do sound pretty good. Yes, they are not the best bang for the buck, but that isn't necessarily a big issue. Id rather have something comfy and good looking(although the bose arent the best looking) instead of the best of the best of audio that isnt comfy. I have used headphones earlier that sounded amazing, but basicly chrushed my head after a while, i am pretty sensitive when it comes to the comfort. Haha, it's not always cold in norway, mostly just in the winter, and the cold shouldn't really be a problem. These do look nice and it says the audio is great, do you know anything about how they are to use in longer periods of time?
  4. wow, they do look nice and at a good price. Unfortunately i dont think i can get them in Norway
  5. Hi again guys! The last audiogear i bought was the AKG K7XX Massdrop Edition. I love these, but this time i want a pair of headphones i can use outside of my home, on the go and in the public.Currently I have been watching some pretty standard headphones that people(maybe not the audiophiles) seem to like. Dont like earbuds and such since i cant find a pair that is comfy, good sounding and that stays in my ear These are the Sennheiser Momentum 2, Bose QC 25 and Bose QC 35. I have tried all of these, and altought they may not be the best bang for the buck in audio, i think they look nice and feel comfy. I dont want a big bulky pair of headphones so id like something like these. This is OK since i have a big bulky pair at home wich i love. Normally i would go for a none wireless pair of headphones, but i am thinking of buying the upcoming iPhone 7. And as the roumors says, it wont have a 3,5mm output. That's why im also considering the Bose QC 35, and when im thinking about it, it would be pretty nice with a pair of wireless headphones as well. So what do I want? Good looking pair of over-ear headphones to use in the public A pair that is comfy enought to wear for hours, like on a plane. Good audio, but doesnt need to be better than the K7XX I also kinda like the noise cancelling in the QC 25 and 35, but that isn't a must Optionally: Wireless Optionally: can use for workout Budget max: about the price of the QC 35, so about $350 in the US, but in Norway everything is more expensive, so a hundred dollars more ($450). But that is a maximum, and i dont really want to spend that kind of money, unless you guys can convince me otherwise. Thanks!
  6. there is currently a really good deal on the AC1900, do you know if that one i better or worse? it's 83 usd off, so now it costs 143 usd.
  7. I don't think i can spare another $150, at least not yet. Isn't there anythink good in the $200 range either? or would it be a better investment to buy homeplugs or an accespoint?
  8. Hi guys! Yesterday I got myself a networking upgrade. I switched ISP and got rid of ADSL. Now i have a fiber connection with 150/150 mb/s. I used to have 20/5, so quite the upgrade! The problem is that the wifi connection is really bad. And in some parts of the house, the connection isn't even present. The position of the router is the same as before, but this new router's wifi range is to small. There was never a problem before with the old router, but it couldn't handle the new and improved speed. I got this new router from my ISP, it's called: Genexis HRG1000. It has support for dual band which is cool, but the featureset isn't really that big. Im wondering if you guys have some recommendations for a new router in the 100-150 usd range. Primary focus would be to boost the wifi and make it more stable. Having some new cool featrues wouldn't hurt either. I do like to share/stream my mediafiles from my computer to other devices, so some features with that in mind would be nice too. Thanks in advance!
  9. Hi, Im just wondering if there is some kind of encryption software for external storage devices such as a external hdd. And is it possible if it works with both Windows and Mac? I have tried things like VeraCrypt, but that's not really what i had in mind. It would be cool to just plug in the device, no matter what OS, and then get prompted for a password. Is there something like this? Or have I misunderstood the concept? Thanks.
  10. I have ordered a samsung 850 evo 250 GB SSD, and im waiting for it to come in the mail. Is there any accessories i need, like a usb to sata converter? Or is it possible to do all the cloning through my windows desktop? like add the Evo to my dektop and clone the kingston one on to that one. And then add my macs HDD to my desktop and clone that one over to the kingston one. Is this possible? Or do i need to do the cloning on the computer im going to use the disk on? I do have alot of sata cables and ports on my MOBO so if i don't need to buy a converter of some sorts, that would be great.
  11. Ok, so i guess i will have to clone my v300 in to the new ssd for my windows, and then clone my macs HHD into the v300.
  12. It's seems that we are in the same situation, and that you liked the upgrade!! I guess ill do it on my next paycheck then. meanwhile ill look out for some good deals on the recommended SSDs. Just a question about the cloning: will it clone over all my data, so that i basicly won't feel the upgrade, in the sense of the file structure in the OS and my settings. My concern is that I will loose all my shortcuts in my programs, and i also have some school related apps with serial keys that i got from my school, like office and Adobe Design.
  13. Hi! I recently upgraded my ram on my macbook pro from 4GB (2x 2GB) to 8GB (2x 4GB), and it was a great little performance boost. I did this because it started to get slow, and i had the spare ram sticks from my old ASUS G74SX notebook. I use my mac at school, for programing, writing and for some mild media editing. At home i use my desktop PC. I currently have an Kingston SSDNow V300 128GB in my desktop. It's not the fastest SSD and i would like one with more space. I'm considering buying a new and faster SSD with 256 GB (preferably at a sale) and put it in my desktop PC. I would then put my current SSD, the Kingston V300, in my Macbook Pro. It isn't really necessary since everything works just fine, but I'd like som more space in my desktop and some more speed in my mackbook. I don't need the 500 GB HDD in my mac since i only really use like 50 GB. Is this worth it? if so, what SSD would you recommend for my desktop? and will the Kingston one work with my mac? Thanks in advance!
  14. i wasn't able to getting UMS to work with my ps4, but i did get my old method to work. It's not optimal, but at least it works.
