  1. So I am finally planning to upgrade my graphics card to a GTX 970. Gonna get it from Amazon cause it's much cheaper ($100+ local currency cheaper) compared to buying locally. Anyway, got a few questions regarding warranty when purchasing from Amazon. (I'm particularly looking at Gigabyte as I'm getting the G1) 1. I've heard alot about Amazon's 30-days return policy if the card I get is defective upon arrival. After this period, what about the warranty covered by the manufacturer? I.e Gigabyte / ASUS / EVGA ? For e.g: Gigabyte site mentioned this "Please contact the location where the original order was placed." Do I contact and return the card to Amazon for RMA? 2. When adding the graphics card to cart, I came across an option to top-up certain amount of money for a: "Add a 3-year warranty" by Squaretrade or Assurant 360º Does this mean that 3 years after manufacturer's warranty or 3 years together with manufacturer. The details weren't clear and I couldn't seem to find any info regarding this. Either way, it seems to me like a waste of money right? 3. Do I have to pay for the shipping for the warranty (either return to amazon or back to manufacturer) Gigabyte's website is somewhat ambiguous. Sorry for the long post. I'm hoping there's a few amazon buyers here that have experience in this and can help clarify these things. Thank you for reading.
  2. Damn .. you got a beautiful rig right there.. And kitty! :3
  3. I'm still using Radeon HD 6990 from 4 years ago  Still able to play Witcher 3 in high settings 1080p. I'd say if you're happy with it, don't need to upgrade just yet especially if you gotta think twice about it. But I get what you mean, my card also needs an upgrade soon. 2gb vram ain't gonna cut it by next year I bet.
  4. I don't know about other countries.. But for Singapore, First of, you gotta take currency exchange into account. Titan X in SLS (Singapore) the price you quoted, 1799, is in Sgd which is around 1340 Usd Secondly, there's the Gst (VAT taxes) and thirdly, there's the shipping cost and lastly, the profit the stores want to make. All in all if you want to cut off the middle man (the stores), there's Amazon. You can't escape the Gst (7% currently) but it's definitely cheaper than buying from stores here, and there's international free shipping to Sg. But of course, you gotta bare in mind that there's no local warranty if you buy it from Amazon.
  5. Things for you to take note if you want to SLI: 1. That your power supply is big enough 2. More power = more heat = more noise from fans (double the fan) I suggest wait for a 980ti, or wait for next gen. Your 970 is good enough to handle games at at least a high quality without the drop in fps. You can go for a 970 sli since you already got a 970 but the performance increase will just be a fraction more than a single 980. But, as others have mentioned, there are some games with sli problems. I suggest a 980 or a 980ti if it comes out, and if you have the money you can upgrade to a 980 sli in the future. But then again, when that time comes, there would definitely be another single gpu card that would be worth ditching the 980 for. Also, this..
  6. It's that simple huh.. I don't know why I didn't think of it that way. I guess I had the irresistible impulse to upgrade.. Now I see.. Thanks! Now I just need to fight that urge... Performance wise currently is still satisfactory but just. got. the. itch. to. upgrade. Regarding amd and nvidia, yea I gotta agree. Recently Nvidia got alot of popularity. And there's many amd issues that I read on forums (driver problems, unstable, etc.), hence I'm currently siding towards Nvidia. Also, I don't have anything to compare it against other than viewer's posts. I'll spare a thought for the new amd coming out -edit- Cause I'm currently using amd, I feel like changing to Nvidia and see how it's like on the other side. Like using iphone for e.g, you feel like switching to android and see if it's better.
  7. My Setup: i5 4690k OC to 4.3Ghz at 1.25V (I know, I think I got the bitter end of the spectrum, maybe) Radeon HD 6990 (Dual gpu, 4 years old, still kicking ass but takes ALOT of wattage) 850W PSU (Corsair 80Silver. 4 years old too. I don't understand abt capacitor aging much but do you think mine is still ok?) Should I upgrade to a GTX 980? Should I even spend that much to gain a slight performance? I believe my gfx card can go toe-to-toe with a 970 (lose but still close) but 970 or 980 takes HALF the power! But in this case, my psu would be too much, 650W is the sweet spot for a single 980, i think. Unless I get double 970 right? Till when should I wait it out and upgrade?
