  1. That's what I'm thinking, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas before I make a purchase. I have the opportunity on Monday to test with with a different GPU and see if that also solves the problem.
  2. A few nights ago I went to play Overwatch as I had been doing previously that day and I was suffering from huge fps drops (down to around 10fps) and all of my sound would start stuttering. Once the game was closed the problems would persist throughout windows causing my mouse to stutter, these problems wouldn't be solved until I restart my PC. I tried playing Evolve and was greeted to the same issue. I've tried reinstalling drivers for my GPU and realtek integrated sound, disabling Nvidia sound drivers, turning off the integrated sound within the bios, fresh install of Windows 10 and Windows 7 (Installing only drivers and overwatch). Last night I tried running the game off of my IGPU and it ran flawlessly. Both GPU and CPU temps are hovering around 65-70C under load. Specs: Intel i5 3570k @ stock Nvidia GTX 660Ti Asus P8Z77-i deluxe 8GB Ram Samsung 840 Evo 240GB 1TB Hitachi HDD Both OS were 64 bit Corsair CX 600w PSU At this point I'm assuming its a hardware failure, potentially the GPU.
  3. Definitely the headphones. That wood and metal finish looks so good
  4. It has to be the build quality.
  5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25559048 Here is the video of James Varga (Phantoml0rd) explanation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaeA43-U5kM
  6. It would be only be for my pc, and I would be using it for music and games. I just want to enhance my audio experience because I'm embarrassingly still using on board audio. I'm aware that I will need a sound card with a headphone amp or an amp to get the most out of them.
  7. I think its time to take the plunge and upgrade my audio, what are your recommendations for headphones in the £150-£250 range? I've been looking into the AKG Q701 what are opinions on these? Any help very much appreciated.
  8. Yeah certain mods have to be installed manually and they shouldn't have to download with manager button on them. Also since you are new to modding I recommend checking out this YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1CSCMwaDubQ4rcYCpX40Eg. He shows of hundreds of great mods and also shows in-depth guides on how to install mods and how to fix your load order.
  9. Personally i would go for the ips. You enjoy having your games look good and to even get the benefits of the 144hz you would have to dial down your settings a bit sacrificing your picture quality.
  10. I think i've decided on the Asus one, going to order it tomorrow. Thank you very much for your help.
  11. Thanks you have been a great help, for the sake of simplicity i'm going to get the Asus or the Samsung one from the orginal post. Now its just deciding which one.
  12. Right I think i've narrowed to the asus or the samsung. but i've just found this. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-VX279Q-27-inch-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B00DRPYS5S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385602053&sr=8-1&keywords=vx279 Do you know if there is likely to be any problems with console and display port to hdmi cables?
  13. I can't decide, I mean Asus and samsung are going to be good because they are asus and samsung. It's the AOC that i'm hesitant about, but its so much cheaper. They all seem to have excellent build quality. The specs are all pretty much the same, how different can they be.
  14. Out of those three monitors you linked, would you recommend any of them? or is it just personal preference?
  15. Personally I would go with an I5. Intel processors are more expensive but seem to get better performance if you want to do some emulation or even modding on games such as Skyrim.
