  1. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/core-i7-5775c-priced-at-479-99.html You're right. But the "C" variant seems to OC to about the same, or maybe a bit higher, levels than Haswell. Stock performance better be good for non-C variants. Also: http://www.ncixus.com/search/?categoryid=0&q=5775 LOL. $500 for a 5775c preorder. idk how preorders have been for CPUs before, but that seems excessive lol. You might as well go x99. Let's hope the price goes down considerably after launch.
  2. This one is also over $50, right? That's too expensive. And I think I've decided to wait until I absolutely need a cooler to get one.
  3. ya it seems like I've gotten confused between Tcase and TJMax because ARK lists the Tcase and not Tjmax for desktop CPUs. apparently tcase is max temp on the ihs and the cores are still ok up to 100-105 C. Maybe I should have done more research
  4. The CPU hits 65 C with all 4 threads around 75% load. It has a max temp of 66. Are you saying none of the coolers i mentioned are good enough replacements of the stock? Also, you just brought up an interesting point. I have 1 intake around 55CFM and 1 exhaust around 70CFM for my case. Instead of buying a cooler would I see better results if I buy another case fan? i can't buy more than 1 b/c my mobo only has 3 case fan slots
  5. that one seems to be around $50 which is too expensive. I was looking for something decent closer to 30 or less
  6. Isn't broadwell just basically the haswell architecture shrunk to 14nm? so that would be the same performance at ~65W instead of ~84W? Also, if what you say is true, then the igpu should still come into play with dx12, correct? i guess that wouldn't be a bad investment. And ya the i11 (i think it's the freezer 7 pro's successor?) is the one im leaning towards right now
  7. that was my first choice but it's too tall at 159mm
  8. So I have an i3-4160 and would like an aftermarket air cooler. My case supports a max height of 150mm for the cooler. I might be upgrading to a Broadwell i5 sometime in the next year so I would like one that would do a good job on that CPU as well. So far, I'm looking at CM tx3, Artic Freezer i11 (which I think is better than the Freezer 7 pro rev 2?), and Zalman cnps5x Performa all at about 20-22 USD. Then there's the Scythe katana 4 at about 33USD and finally the Raijintek Aidos at 16USD. All these prices are on amazon, which is where I'll be making the purchase. Which of these are the best at cooling for the price for the i3 and the 5th gen i5? I don't mind if it gets a little loud, as long as it's not a lawn mower sitting next to me. And if anyone has any better alternative, those are welcome as well. Thanks for any help!
  9. LMAO OP's opinion is getting ripped apart. i have to agree though, it does look too flashy, and not in a good way. plus no wrist rest is a deal breaker like a few people mentioned.
  10. Congrats on the mill! last time i checked not too long ago you guys were at less than 800k! as im typing this, this thread is flying so fast it says 50 new replies already lmao random thought: when i first discovered LTT i thought that linus was around 20 years old lol, let alone married
  11. There were too many from Techquickie so I chose one at random from some of the ones I really liked. I had subscribed to JayzTwoCents only a few days ago but I really liked his review of the Gunnars because my eyes are also extremely sensitive and have been debating whether to buy these and this video helped me out
  12. The fact that this particular one has been on a mountain and the signatures are pretty cool haha. Besides that, those specs are actually better than any that I've had so it's exciting that there's a chance I might be able to use this laptop.
