  1. I am planning to upgrade my current build to a Ryzen 5 1600 with an MSI B350 Gaming Plus motherboard. I am looking to purchase the Team Dark 16gb memory kit (2x8gb), and would just like to know if the ram will work with the motherboard. I understand the memory will more than likely not run at the stock speed of 3000 mhz, but I just want to know if the system will work with the memory installed. Personally, I see no reason why this memory would not work but I would like some other opinions on the matter. Thanks! 2. Thanks so much for the input! The 1600 it is!
  3. I am currently a High School Senior getting ready to attend the University of Florida in the fall. I will be majoring in Aerospace engineering, and I am upgrading my current build to be able to handle the necessary workload. This is where I need you guys. I will need to be able to run applications like Matlab, SolidWorks, and AutoCad on a consistent basis with strong performance. I am looking to upgrade within the next couple weeks and need to decide which CPU would be better: i7-7700 or Ryzen 5 1600??? Either way the CPU will be paired with a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080. In addition to running these programs, another focus of the build is gaming. I realize both of these CPU's would be able to handle 1080p gaming very well, with absolutely no issues. I just have no idea if the 7700 or 1600 would perform better in the applications listed above. All advice and recommendations are welcome. Thanks!
  4. First of all, I would like to commend you on writing such a detailed review of the 558's! I was primarily wondering, if you were to use the 558's on your PC, what are you using to power them? As in, are you running off of onboard audio, or are you using an external AMP/DAC? I am pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I am just wondering! Again, great job!
  5. Alright, that sounds like a good explanation! Once again, thank you for your input!
  6. Just wondering, do you know exactly what Asus' 5-Way Optimization is? This is the one feature of the Asus Boards that I am not exactly understanding!
  7. Thank you guys for all of your input! I am probably going to go with the MSI version though after conducting more research!
  8. Thank you for your input! I am kind of leaning towards the MSI simply because of the brand name and the positive reviews for the board! Once again, thanks!
  9. So basically, I am looking to upgrade to the i5-6600k and overclock it to around 4.5ghz paired with a Cryorig H5 Ultimate and a GTX 1060/1070 for gaming! I was wondering which of these 3 boards you would personally suggest: 1: Asus Z170-E = $85.99 after rebate 2: Gigabyte Z170-HD3 = $82.98 after rebate 3: MSI Z170A-SLI = $89.98 after rebate I can purchase the Gigabyte for the cheapest, but I personally believe the Asus is the best option! What do you guys think? What board would you buy for a solid experience overall for gaming, productivity, and overclocking? All help is appreciated, thanks!
  10. Basically I have been looking to upgrade my pc for awhile now, where I am currently looking for a CPU/Mobo combo that is good for gaming, word processing, and some game streaming as well. I am looking to go for the Xeon E3-1231v3 and the Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H-A as the combination for my upgrades. I currently run an Athlon x4 860k and an R9 280 soon to be upgraded to a GTX 1070! I really wish to play games like BF4, BF1, H1Z1, Lifeless, DayZ, Arma III, GTA V, and Watch Dogs 2 at great framerate, with good settings at 1080p. Like I said, the primary use for the PC will be gaming with Triple A titles, completing schoolwork (Reliable for college), and streaming game play to twitch. So, what do you guys think? Do I make the jump for the xeon and B85 for under $290? I feel like the xeon is a great processor, soon to be paired with the 1070 for great performance potential!
  11. Nope, just my SSD and other 300gb HD.
  12. Thanks for the link, do you remember specifically what you did?
  13. Hey guys, I have recently installed a 1TB Western Digital Black HDD that I got a while back and when I go to this PC under Devices and Drives, the Drive is not recognized. I went into the bios under the advanced option and it was recognized there, but, the PC does not recognize it in total. I have checked in the Computer Management storage options, and it does not show up there either. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys!
