I certainly wouldn't recommend a 970 like some people have done.

Don't get a 970 as it's a busted card with that Vram cripple and in the end it will force you into another upgrade sooner than later.

Probably because Nvidia lied to everyone that bought the cards and they don't have as much VRAM as Nvidia claims.

Don't buy another one from the company that lies to you.

Guys im not saying the 970 inst still a excellent card or something.

Im just saying nvidia engaged in shady businesses practices or gross incompetence and they need to do right by their costumers.

They lied plain and simply, has been proved beyond the shadow of the doubt in this thread if you bother to read it.

I/O reacted to jerryeight in Do you think that Nvidia should recall 970's? (and Nvidia's response)
That's some shady business practices that Nvidia chooses to do.
I am really pissed off since I paid over 400 for my G1 edition and now we find out that it was kneecapped before it left the factory.

They clarified after they were pushed against a brick wall.

They kept their mouths shut until people started complaining and then revealed it was a "marketing issue"

    Coincidence..

They faked their specs in the beginning to sell cards to early adopters.

The point of the matter is NVIDIA lied , weather you think thats ok or not its your own personal prerogative.

I believe the MSI would be the quietest.

I wouldn't buy any 970 though until they stop selling them with 3.5GB VRAM while advertising them as 4GB VRAM.

    r9 290x , it has 4 GB of vram.
Unlike some cards that have 3.5 + 0.5 donkey speed ram.

Honestly defending nvidia just means you are okay with getting screwed in the ass by them.

You are okay with them slapping you around as they pleased.

Next up nvidia will launch the gtx 990 with two gtx 980 in the PCB , but they will ship just one and claim they messed up the specs.

So your logic is that everyone in siria for example is shooting each other every day,but since its common place and everybody does it we should ignore it.
( bad example i know im sleepy)

It has 4 GB of crippled memory at the end of the day , like the fx 8xxx cpus have eight crippled cores.

LOL the white knights for Nvidia. Would you guys be happy if you bought a 1TB SSD and you opened the box to find a 900GB SSD with an old Maxtor 100GB 5400RPM drive thrown in for the rest?

Because people with two 970 have had this problem .

The vram goes over 3.5 GB and they experience frame drops that dont make sense considering the power of their SLI solution.
