  1. This was a great build to read through! Also super interesting to see since I use the same motherboard.
  2. Lame, I hope they get a hold of you guys and honor a return. ?
  3. Yeah it's pretty ridiculous, but I missed mine, and I managed to grab this one at an okay-ish price.
  4. Orange Vanilla Coke Zero has become my crack. I have drank so many.
  5. I was missing the 9800 PRO I donated to @Modzy so I found a new one.
  6. I haven't posted here in forever but I finally got some upgrades worth showing off and im so excited for them so without further adeu
  7. before bothering with flashing your gpu bios, did you try resetting your motherboard bios back to its standard configuration? there should be a "load optimized defaults" option in the settings. i would try that, and the reset any OC you had after.
  8. Dipping my toes into some entry audiophile gear. Wanted something other than my DT 990 pros to listen to. These are so much more comfortable and sound great.
  9. I love my tenkeyless but I need a tenkey again for some work. I also really needed to join the RGB club soooo I killed two birds with one stone. CoolerMaster Masterkeys MK750 with Cherry MX Brown switches and red o-rings. My only dislike was the wrist rest that came with it. Went back in the box.
  10. Looking through your motherboard's manual I do not see anything regarding shutting off USB power. There's only a mention for USB-C as auto detecting whether something needs power when connected or leaving it always on. Sorry!
  11. USB is still powered after the rest of the pc shuts down. I think anything running off 5v from the PSU is actually still powered after a simple power off, iirc. In SOME cases you can disable this in BIOS. It's labeled as phone charging option for my particular motherboard. It's not really hurting anything though, and doesn't draw much power. So I just leave it be and be careful not to bap my keyboard once its off.
  12. CH F-16 combatstick. $9.99 shipped. I can't even. Works perfectly.
  13. Sure, they might actually acknowledge it with a form letter reply saying thanks for emailing them. Heh! Really though, yeah, report it if you can.
  14. I had the same issue, I just rolled back my driver to 388.71.
  15. Geforce experience has a dumb little option in the power menu that automatically limits fps to like 30-40 fps. drove me crazy with my laptop until I found it. Might be worth checking to see if you have GFE installed already and its enabled.
  16. the 770 will be a serious bottleneck for your pc build. However as you pointed out, prices and availability for gfx cards are ridiculous right now. Personally, I'd build your system and grit your teeth until you can afford the gpu that you want. Paying rent and setting aside some cash per month could get you a card once prices come down or a new generation of cards come out and keep your rent paid. If you were serious about gaming on 4k, a 1080ti is the only way to go right now, but if you were using your 1080p screen a 1060 or 580 would be a fine way to spend money until you can upgrade to a proper 4k monitor and gfx card.
  17. I started out uh.. 20 some years ago with a Fender DG-5, but it's Xbox heuge and not produced anymore (you can find them used for ~$100.) In my office I have an Epiphone DR-100 and it plays pretty well for me, also inexpensive and much easier to handle. I picked that up for $99 at guitar center. You might want to grab a used guitar since you can find pretty good deals on higher end equipment that still plays fine rather than investing in a lower end beginner model for the same price.
  18. https://pcpartpicker.com/builds/#e=622,617,890,1496,478,280,1204,1148,1045,1090,1502 Oops, here's the link with ALL the S340 cases added.
  19. Attached. The update today seems to have fixed the stuttering issue which almost disappoints me. I'm happy to report everything is quite smooth and runs well now, no crashes. My PC specs are 16gb ram @ 3000mhz, 6700k @ stock clock and a FE edition 1080ti. You can see that the game uses one cpu core heavily, and the rest low/moderately.
  20. Did you bother tightening down the center clamp on the EVO? If you didn't, and just tightened down the four base clamps, you're still not making full contact with the CPU. You need to adjust the tension on the middle post. I always had mine cranked down almost all the way until the spring bottomed out.
