  1. Hi folks, been a long time since I've been here. Having some issues with Windows 10 since updating it - I'd been avoiding updating for quite a long time now, purely because of this issue... Anyway, any previous time I'd tried to update it would always black screen to it ended up always reverting back to what it was before. I really wanted to update it though, as I was running a really old build. So, this time I removed my GPU, ran the update and it worked fine, no black screens and it went smoothly. Then I installed the latest Nvidia drivers (GTX970 is what I have), shut down, plugged the GPU back in - and it won't boot! If I set it to run the integrated GPU from the BIOS, it boots. And if I set it to run the PCIe GPU, it won't - so frustrating! Any ideas how to go about sorting this? I have the latest nvidia drivers, so at a loss as to what to do next. Cheers
  2. Thanks, I would absolutely love to do that, maybe a RC car chassis or something! Maybe one day, but unfortunately the Uni gets to keep it for a year, then its mine after that.
  3. Just got my fibreglass model i built back from the paintshop, what do you guys reckon, would any of you drive something like this? Just need to get the wheel and tyres mounted, then i'm good to go! Thats how it started: If you want a better look: Portfolio: http://bit.ly/garypaterson
  4. Well im in the UK, and i study at Swansea Metropolitan Uni, which is pretty decent, although Coventry is the one with the reputation. If you have a passion for it, go for it. You dont have to be naturally gifted at drawing or anything, just a high level of enthusiasm, and you'll soon pick up the rest.
  5. Well, i sure like cars so might as well post something here! Ok, here's a pic of the car i have now: And here's one i had when i was around 15 or 16 (Field car, not road legal, bought it for £150! Really wanted something RWD, so BMW was the perfect choice): This is what i first learned to drive in: Right now, im at Uni studying Automotive Design. This is what i do (Ive got quite a lot of car design stuff here):
  6. Well, obviously the chances are slim, but might as well! If i were to win the 5820K, id have to get a suitable motherboard, and probably a better cooler than my Hyper 212, then itd be put straight to work, helping me do 3D modelling (Autodesk Alias) and of course Photoshop work (need more RAM soon, maxing out 8GBs all the time now ). EDIT* After a bit of thought, i reckon seeing as id need a new Mobo, id probably start a new PC, and itd be mITX! Small as possible, console killer style. GTX970 would be partnered up.
  7. Looks not bad, but its bloody expensive, not just the case but the shipping and customs to get to the UK, kind of ridiculous. Wish someone would just make a copy of Valves Steambox, it looked perfect!
  8. Got one, hopefully itl cure my horrendously slow laptop.
  9. Ok, ive searched the internet for an answer, but cant find one, and its annoying me! What are the three threaded holes for on the end of all these coolers? I keep seeing them in pictures, but have no idea what they're for! I dont even have one of these cards, but now ive got it in my head i need an answer. Heres couple pics so you know what im talking about:
  10. I havent noticed any whine from my MSI 970, and it seems pretty quiet overall tbh.
  11. They cant call it Windows X anything, since it'l just end up being knows as window sex.
  12. Yeah, but i think just about everything is cheaper in America...
  13. Still looks good for 2008, one of my favourite games i think.
  14. Honestly im not so sure, i mean when for me, when im watching youtube gameplay, i couldnt care less if its 30fps (anything less isnt great). It looks fine to me. HOWEVER, i do much prefer playing at 60fps, its so much more fluid. The difference for me i think is whether im in control, if i am i want 60fps, but if im just watching it i really couldnt care less providing its at least 30fps.
  15. eBay seller has agreed to a full refund, so this topic can pretty much be closed now, thanks for the help! Now looking for another suitable motherboard.
