  1. I first built my gaming pc right as Haswell was being released. I initially built a i5-4670k paired with 8GB of RAM with a Radeon 7850 but upgraded to 16GB of RAM and now a 1060 3GB card. I was intrigued with Ryzen when they came out but really wasn't on board since I wasn't a huge fan of AMD at the time. But now with all the reviews about 3rd gen I am tempted to upgrade my rig. I have provided two PC Partpicker links to show what I have and what I want. I want to stay under $1000 and just be happy with my 1080p gaming setup. I don't mind AIO cooling but from that LTT video about the performance of Air cooling vs AIO from about 3-4 months ago I might just go with air. I am not a fan of tempered glass or RGB so I am just wanting something that will stay cool (between 60-70C when gaming) and quiet. I don't plan on OC and that is why I was not really wanting to get an unlocked processor (I am open to the idea I just don't have a desire or knowledge to do it). I look forward to your responses. Note that in my Rig link I don't have everything in it just the essentials ( I have 4tb of storage that I didn't include). I mostly play some FPS (Borderlands, Battlefield), RPG (ESO, Monster Hunter World), and MOBAs (Smite)

  3. I currently am running an old WD HDD that is 500GB and I have an SSD of 120GB. I use the the SSD to boot up my system and keep some of my more permanent software on it (video editing, word processes, games). My HDD is from my old family pc that no one has used in a long time (family switched to MAC lol =P). I thought that I could save some money by just using old parts, that still work, from the pc and put them in my new gaming pc. I soon realized that 500GB does not last long when you want to play multiple games and want to record games and try to do so many things I just don't have the capacity to hold it all. That is why if I would win this HDD I would easily be able to hold more games and don't worry about anything being deleted due tp lack of space. Thank you Linus for giving us this opportunity to win a great HDD. facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ryan.fritch/posts/10200516929745737 Steam forum: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/11/864978762486997908/
  4. I have been a console player for a long time but the past year and half I have been thinking of switching over to PC. The experience is a lot better and I have a better experience playing on PC. My question is should I go to Haswell or buy my current build. My current build has been not been locked in and I don't want to spend more than $1,000 (what my current wishlist is at). If you have any suggestions on how to tweak my current build I would like to hear it. But I am on team red and will not switch the GPU over to the green team. Any suggestions will be great on maybe getting to most performance gaming and power efficiency possible or anything else. This is going to be my first PC build and I want it to last me for a few years. My current build is this: CPU - Intel Core i5-3570 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler- Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard - MSI Z77A-G41 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard RAM- Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory SSD- Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk HDD- Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (from my old family PC, trying to save some money only dates back to 2009) Video Card- MSI Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card Case- Rosewill BlackHawk ATX Mid Tower Case PSU- Corsair CX 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply Optical Drive- (Drive from my old computer, just a normal CD/DVD drive) OS- Windows 7 64-bit Any upgrades that stay within a $100 of current build which, according to Newegg is $1080 before shipping, will be great. Thanks for your input.
