UPDATE: i tried putting both cards in the first and second slot rather than the 1st and third slot it worked right away but due to them being the g1 gaming brand they are big the top one scrapes along the bottom one one thing i noticed was that when it was installing the driver it actually detected the bridge this time some pci to pci bridge did not see that driver before will try again in first and third slot to reconfirm edit: tried again after confirming it works in first and second slots, will have to settle for those and figure out a way to divide the space between the fans so they dont scrape

yes both cards are detected and seated properly

hi im having trouble with sli i cannot get the sli option to pop up in the nvidia control panel ive tried quite a few things from clean installations of display and gpu drivers different sli bridges swapped cards around into each slot, power is also connected card are exact same 2 gtx 980s here is the motherboard i am using http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27830 i dont know what to try next

have tried fresh installs both are in seated right and both are 980s still stuck with no option

thanks any tips for helping with my sli problem than if you could please, ive tried reinstalling drivers swapped the cards around they are both detected on my pc ive tried 2 different sli bridges i cant get the sli option to pop up in nvidia control panel literally stumped on what to try next

Hi just a quick question to the more experienced i currently have a 980 g1 gaming gpu and am looking to go sli but as you know the g1 card is quite big so it covers my second pci slot will i be able to put the second card in the 3rd pci slot and it would work all slots are x16 or would it be easier to just go and sell this card and buy a smaller one? thx.

the reason i asked was for this one in particular http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1693&products_id=29142 i know the other designs dont take that much but this one has a 600w cooler so im taking that the power req in the specs below in that link would suggest getting 1200+ psu for sli of them? im not too familar with wattages still a begginer in this area

looking for opinions on what 980 brands to go with like the asus strix, g1 gaming, twin frozr or reference? can only afford one atm but plan to buy another down the track and another question that is confuzzling me does the gigagbyte g1 980 take 600w, if so i probally wont sli that one seeing as i only have an 860w psu
