  1. I think im going to start watching movies a lot more on my desktop and i'm probably going to pick up most future releases on the ps4 rather than PC so gaming at 60hz no gysnc like I do already won't be a problem, but having IPS and 1440p will be a nice bonus. Been looking at the following monitors. Dell U2515H Dell U2715H BenQ BL2710PT Asus PB278QR Gonna wait for a while to see if the 27inches drop in price first
  2. Any scaling issues on 1440? Much difference between 1080? Would my 780 be able to handle the upgrade?
  3. My current monitor is a 23inch hp tn ugly thing I picked up about 5 years ago when buying a new pc. Specs below. http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02158451 Since then I've built my own rig but never got around to getting a new monitor. I have an Asus gtx 780 and was wondering what should I be looking at for a new monitor. I don't have room for anything like ultra wide and I'm also not interested in 4k so they are both out of the question. Not really looking to upgrade gpu until late next year also. So... Ips? Tn? 1080p? 1440p? 60hz? 120/144hz? Gysnc? Anything below £300 would be nice. Mostly use for browsing, youtube and gaming, noting creative or anything out of the ordinary. Any recommendations would be a great help.
  4. A few months ago I built my own rig from scratch including new peripherals, the only thing I didn't upgrade was my monitor. I currently have a HP x23 LED , specs can be seen <here> As you can see its nothing special and i've had it for around 3-4 years (I think) Now im looking to actually use the horsepower of my asus gtx 780 and upgrade to 1440p (4k doesn't interest me, cba with scaling issues ) I do have a few requirements for a new monitor and have found a few possible choices. 27inch 1440p Matte black screen + bezel/stand Built in speakers Height and pivot adjustable Max spend is £400 but may be able to get deals leading up to Christmas ----------------------------------------------- Now I use my PC mainly for general browsing and gaming, I mostly play Smite, League of Legends, Battlefield series and will be picking up Far cry 4 when that gets released, taking this into account would I be better suited to a TN panel? Or IPS? Here are a few options I have located, any opinions on any of these or any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Acer#1 Acer#2 AOC BenQ Asus
  5. I thought so too but seller had 100% feedback and confirmed with me before purchase that it was the official full pro version non OEM and said I could check with Microsoft after receiving the code to confirm this.
  6. I got mine form eBay off a business seller called "gamecentre" . Code was emailed and it is the full PRO version, no OEM crap. Cost £40
  7. I know what you mean, I would like to do this also as my case has a side window but for me the performance and noise is more important so that's why i've opted for avoiding corsair link. You could always do the method I mentioned above and wait and see if corsair release a better version of their link software?...That's what im doing, except even if they do release a stable working version im only going to use it to edit a few settings such as the logo colour. Other than that I'm extremely happy with the AI suite software from Asus.
  8. Put the 2 140's on 1 mobo fan header with a Y splitter, same goes for your 2 top rad fans. And wire as normal for other fans. Stress tested my rig last night and temps were very good, even under 100% load the cpu didn't get too hit and kept quiet with a custom fan curve I set. Really impressed with the Asus Ai software, much better than corsair link.
  9. What is the current configuration of your fans in your case? I have a corsair 450d case. Front intake: 2 x 140mm noctua (Y splitter used to connect the 2 fans to 1 usb header on mobo) Rear exhuast: 1 x 120mm noctua Top Exhaust 2 x 120mm Corsair h100i stock fans.
  10. Okay so I decided to give up using corsair link and decided to plug the 2 rad fans into my mobo and control them using Asus AI suite 3 fan xpert and must say I am impressed, I can control all my fans in one place and set custom curves for all of them easily with absolutely no problems. I can also monitor temps and they look good. PC is now basically silent and running cool at idle (30'c CPU, mobo 25'c , gpu 25'c) Exactly what I wanted for when im not doing much on my computer. How it performs under load is a different matter Think I will avoid using link for the foreseeable future and next time I go AIO I will look for a device that doesn't implement software features @Redliquid, I do hope you get things sorted on your end.
  11. Wish I had too now, or just air cooled. Think I might just end up controlling the fans using different software that actually works.
  12. Just updated to the mentioned software and although now it does allow me to monitor my 2x intake fans and rear exhaust I still have no information available on the radiator fans or control over the rgb corsair logo. Even when i click Check for Updates it says "Corsair Link did not detect any devices which can be updated. Think I may try a few more things before I completely scrap using corsair link and try using different software all together.
  13. Okay so I swapped the usb header to a different one and absolutely nothing changed so I don't think thats the problem.
  14. I'm having exactly the same problem running Windows 8.1 with latest software version of corsair link, everyone says update firmware but when you click update it says something like no compatible device found. Fans running at 2200ish ram constantly and no software or even BIOS settings have an effect on the fans. Going to double check my wiring of the whole cooler later so I can rule out any installation issues on my behalf. Will keep you updated on my side if you could do the same that would be great .
  15. Went with the following Intake 2 x NF A14 PWM = MAX = 82.5CFM * 2 = 165 Exhaust = NF S12A PWM = MAX = 62.21 Corsair h100i = 77CFM So at fans all at Max I will have +25.79CFM Most likely I won't be having all fans at max but I can adjust using Speedfan to find a good balance of noise and performance Along with corsair link for the h100i.
