Apologies but I'm am not quite understanding what you are trying to say in this post. But as for the components yes that is understandable that you don't have any available on hand. So your only options are if you have a friend/family member that has some or if possible or seeing if a local PC shop would be willing to help troubleshoot components with/for you. Other option is doing a return on the Motherboard or CPU and hoping you guessed which is the problem. (I'd say the Motherboard is a more likely to be the issue).
Ah, so you had Windows working for a time and enabling XMP seems to be what caused this. That is very strange, clearing CMOS as you have done already should have fixed this issue immediately though, which is why I suspect something else is at play (dead components, or compatibility issues even though there shouldn't be any).

Some further troubleshooting I suppose you can try is removing ALL unnecessary components. Extra HDDs, Extra SSDs, Run only 1 stick of RAM, unplug all unnecessary connectors on your motherboard, unplug all extra peripherals. If you have a PS/2 Keyboard you can use, use that instead of a USB one. Basically the goal is run the system with the BARE minimum required to function and then slowly reintroduce components/peripherals until it starts having issues again and you may figure out more information about what the problem is.

Another potential option is create a bootable linux thumb drive (info on how to do this is readily available) and try booting from that stick into linux and see if you encounter issues there.

Lastly you may be able to wipe your drive from the BIOS using the RAID utilities but I've never used them for that purpose before so I don't know what exactly that'll do as opposed to doing it through the Windows installer. If you're having trouble getting your PC to boot from the Windows install drive you can manually select the boot drive by pressing F11 during boot on MSI boards.

Can't really have a "high end keyboard" topic and be mentioning gaming brands generally.

That being said, you'd need to provide more information to really steer the suggestions. Full-size? TKL? Switch preference? RGB? If there is one thing that is unfortunate with keyboards, is the sheer variety that exists at every option means your most desirable preference might not exist or be really rare or expensive.

I once bought an Open Box stereo from Newegg.  It arrived beat the hell up in the same box that the previous owner had returned it to Newegg...with their address information and previous RMA sticker on the box.  I plugged it in and it showed instantly an error code, google it - blown amp.

I contact Newegg to return it.  They didnt want to pay shipment back.  I escalated (but didnt tell the rep I had the RMA and contact info of the previous owner, address everything).  Finally after 2 escalations the "Manager" was trying to just end the phone call.  Thats when I dropped the bomb about this being an RMA'd product shipped to me as open box and I will absolutely be calling my bank and getting charges reversed and they can eat the items cost completely.  They backpedaled, denied, and then I read off the RMA number, persons name, address etc and then it was all: What can we do to make this right sir.

They paid for the return, reimbursed me and gave me a $100 store credit.

I contacted the party shortly after that previously owned it and told them that Newegg was giving out their information in this way just so they were aware.  Not sure if they did anything about it.

    2018.11.13          I ordered a refurbished Asus monitor with a one-year warranty.

2019.8.14            The monitor ceased working. Newegg customer service stated I was shipped a refurbished monitor with a 90-day warranty. The emailed invoice did not state whether the monitor was new/refurb/as-is or its warranty term. There was no documentation with the monitor.

2019.08.15          Asus Canada says the monitor is not refurbished, it is "as-is". They offer to trouble shoot it, but I have to ship it to Ontario. Newegg doesn't offer to do anything.
2019.08.19          Registered letter sent to Newegg Canada Inc., no response.

2019.08.29          Registered letter sent to Newegg Canada Inc., no response.

2019.09.19          Complaint to Better Business Bureau. A representative for Newegg refused to disclose any information showing  Asus Canada was incorrect and the monitor was actually refurbished.

2019.09.25          Consumer Protection BC stated that Newegg’s conduct in this matter appears to constitute one or more offenses – deceptive act or practice – under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.

Newegg has all the power here. The consumer has no way of knowing if the product they receive is the product they ordered. The only way to check, if you believe Newegg won't deceive you, is to compare the item number on the invoice with the web site. Why should a consumer have to do that?

Newegg lists this monitor at four different price points. If you select "compare" it lists forty different attrributes - and they all identical. What's different is that warranties on the four monitors vary from three years to three months. And Newegg doesn't include the only point where they differ in the comparison.

Is that a coincidence or intentionally deceptive? Compare Newegg's actual business practices with their mission statement and then shop somewhere else.

Very, very bad news for everyone.

    Edit:
Some random thoughts about it and why I think it is bad:
I find it very scary that two companies (Visa and Mastercard) basically controls the entire Internet. If they feel like you have done something bad, then they can basically make sure you can't get paid. Imagine if Visa and Mastercard (strange how they usually decide to cancel someone at the same time, right? Not the first time it has happened) decided that "nahh, LinusTechTips is bad" and then just flat out blocked all Visa and Mastercard transactions to them. We see a lot of talk about monopolies these days but nobody seems to bat an eye at Visa and Mastercard. If you ask me, it's about time they get regulated.
The New York Times article that caused this was loaded to the brim with bullshit. They didn't actually find any child porn despite the article really trying to push that narrative. What the moron with an agenda at the NYT found were playlists with titles such as "the best collection of young boys". The videos were not actually of underage people, but rather a clickbaity playlist video that contained adult porn. That's why the article never actually says they found child porn. Only that it things that seemed to imply child porn, or things that could have been child porn.
Companies should not be punished for user generated content as long as they act upon reports of illegal content. This is what the entire Internet is founded upon. Imagine if Linus could get blocked by Visa and Mastercard just because a bunch of users and I decide to spam the site with copyrighted movies or whatever.
The total amount of child porn found on Pornhub by the Internet Watch Foundation over the last 3 years were 118 pictures/videos. By comparison, they found 84,000,000 pictures and videos of child porn on Facebook. There is literally 71186340% more child porn on Facebook than on Pornhub, yet Pornhub is the one in trouble. Why?
Verified on Pornhub is pretty much useless. It's not like on Twitter or Youtube where you need to be famous to get verified. You literally get verified by submitting a picture of you holding up a sign with your username. You can grab a random picture from Reddit /r/roastme has a ton), edit in your username on a paper/sign and get verified.

That's not how it works at all. I've worked there.

There are policies regarding not permitting presales, and "no item" rules, but that's it. As long as the seller has the item, there is no reason to cancel the listing. Even someone like myself who hates crap like this, would nitpick the hell out of these listings to find ANY excuse to pull them, especially at the last minute, because I know these trolls will flip out. Then I go to the email queue and send them the form email response.

eBay's own corporate culture errs on the side of "if it's not reported, it doesn't exist", If you think something is a bad listing, report it, for anything. eBay staff are supposed to take listings down, for any possible reason if it's reported, even if it's filed for the wrong reason (other than fraud, which is not a listing violation, that's something else.)

There are internal violations, that aren't written in policy that things can be pulled down for, but they're aligned with VeRO policies, not moral or ethical reasons. eg, a seller selling 10,000 Nintendo listings, is likely selling counterfeit's. A seller selling one GPU at 200% markup, is likely an idiot.

Well they are Canadian and quite proud of it. It has large Coniferous trees on the left side which kinda sums up Canada as a whole but also BC specifically where they are based with their ancient Douglas Fir forests; Then there are the Northern lights at the top. Pretty clear visual description of the Great White North, save for the white which wouldn't have sold as well I'm sure hence the black colour scheme, there is the little bit of snow included though so it's still represented. You could also argue the trees are designed to look as though they are covered in snow themselves.

Personally I absolutely adore the design, and would have loved to have one for Christmas! Team did an awesome job, now we just need a matching wrist rest in the same assortment of size options!

Not sneaky, standard for most eCommerce platforms.

    1. Add $10 item to cart.
    2. Cart shows $10 subtotal (there are some platforms that assume a tax immediately on the subtotal, or if they're a store that offers pickup, but they are not as common).
    3. When address is updated, shipping quotes are listed.
    4. Customer selects shipping option.
    5. Subtotal is added to shipping price, calculates the taxes, resulting in a final total price.

    Hi All,

As a deaf person I _really_ appreciate the availability of captions on most of LTT's videos over the last couple months. I'm not sure what triggered this change from earlier videos, but I am grateful for it. The strange thing is, though, that while most videos do have captions, the time it takes to upload them varies; sometimes it's instant, sometimes it takes a few hours, sometimes it takes a few days, and sometimes it just doesn't happen at all. I'm typically happy to financially support creators and content that is fully accessible to me and other Deaf/HoH people, and it's really bugging me that LTT is so close, but not quite there yet. I'm curious if there's any way to gain insight into the captioning process and whether there's a better way to give feedback (I do have some minor feedback on inaccuracies in the subtitles but they've been...better than many other channels).

Side note: I'd also really love if the WAN show started doing transcripts as well. Some podcasts do have transcripts, but they seem like they're few and far between. I really enjoy podcasts (and especially video ones) but it's difficult to consume them without some accessibility features (YouTube's auto craptions are...pretty bad if you have no hearing).

    1. Go to www.PlayStation.com and create an account. You will be asked to write your address and payment info again at the time of ordering so be ready.
    2. The PlayStation direct does not accept Discover cards. My order went through with a Visa card.
    3. Follow the account below on Twitter and sign up for notifications. I’m not affiliated with them but their notification helped me go to the store at the exact time.
    4. New stock drops usually between 3pm to 7pm eastern time during the week. So be ready to visit the site when you get a notification.
    5. When you are in the queue, before the sale starts, it will say “your estimated wait is more than an hour” but until they add a message that “ps5 is in limited quantity and queue doesn’t guarantee getting one” they haven’t started selling so stay in the queue. It took me 30 minutes to be let in the store.

KnightSirius reacted to Jet_ski in HP's 'free ink for life' plan is over because some scams are legal
    Summary
HP recently informed Instant Ink plan customers that after just three years, it was ending its "free ink for life" deal, according to Consumer Reports. It becomes not-so-free as of Friday.

What was this deal? The company remotely monitored printer buyers' ink usage, and sent a "free" cartridge when they were running low...with some caveats.

Printing (and ink) was not unlimited. Users were allowed to print 15 pages per month. Subscribers also had to have a credit card on file with HP. If you went over 15 pages, HP would charge you a dollar for 10 additional pages.

But now those halcyon days are gone. HP will charge participants in the program 99 cents per month for their 15 pages. Sure, nearly $12 a year doesn't sound like a lot, but, again, they signed up for FREE ink for life.

There are tiers that cost between 99 cents to $24.99/month for more pages, based on your printing needs. One positive change to the plan is that you can roll over your unused pages up to a cap.

The bait-and-switch "free ink for life" deal is just the latest trick scam pulled by HP (and other printer companies) to make as much money as possible from their machines.

    My thoughts
Long time ago I decided to never purchase HP products. And this just cements my views of the company.

Inkjets printers are a scam to begin with. Because they tempt you with a low upfront cost but over the lifetime they cost 5x more because getting new cartridges cost as much as the printer. And if you don’t use an inkjet printer frequently, the ink dries inside the device and you have to throw it away.

If you must just buy a laser printer. It costs more upfront but they actually have a lower cost of ownership over the life of the device.

When my second $500 HP printer scanner stopped working with less than 2 years of light use, I decided to get a Xerox laser printer. Now 7 years later, the laser printer still works like new. I only had to replace the black film once and I’ve printed thousands of pages.

I frequently request quotes from them on desktop machines and servers to be used at NASA. I was actually in an email battle with one of the federal Dell reps as I was watching the vid. No matter how many times I ask them to remove pro support, they always seem to find a way to sneak it into the quotes (with a charge). Dell makes some great servers and I've never had problems there, but getting desktop and laptop systems from them has always been a major pain.
