You can always go to System Properties -> Advanced -> Settings (under Performance) -> Advanced -> Change (under Virtual memory), uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives", then manually set all the drives to no paging file. Restart Windows and it'll only use your system RAM from now on, no more using your HDD or SSD.

Make sure you get Java SE Runtime Environment. The versions are ordered from newest (top) to oldest (bottom) on that page.

Have you tried going to appdata/roaming and deleting .minecraft, then reinstalling?

Did you update Java by chance? If not, give that a try. If you did, try going back to an older version. (I'd suggest using Java 8 )

EaseUS offers software to clone your existing partition.  In theory it should work fine, but there can and often are oddities that crop up when doing this.  I suppose it doesn't really hurt to try, but if you want to guarantee a clean move, you have to clean install.

more specifically the E-2274G which runs at 4ghz and turbos up to 4.9ghz. There is nothing wrong with the cpu, it's the cooler they're bundled with. Intel has thought it was a good idea to bundled their very bottom of the bin stock cooler, rated for tdp of 65w or lower, with that xeon which has a tdp rating of 88w 83W.
Intel does have much "beefier" coolers like those with cooper cores and larger heatsinks, not sure why they don't use those.
As for what happens to them recall xeon e-2274g
So box xeon with fan and 3 year warranty, becomes oem xeon with no fan, and 1 year warranty.

TheKDub got a reaction from Wingfan in +80 power supply rating
The "80+ Gold rating" is a power efficiency tier.

While generally a higher efficiency power supply will be more reliable or higher quality, there are also some pretty bad units with high efficiencies. There are also some pretty solid units with lower efficiencies.

By efficiency, it means if the system is consuming 100W itself, but the power supply efficiency is only 80%, it'll be drawing approx 125W (100 / 0.80) from the wall, whereas if it was 90%, it'd only draw approx 111W (100 / 0.90) from the wall. Higher efficiency = less wasted power. Less wasted power = less heat and lower electrical bill.

View the PSU Tier list here:

This is a giant list of most power supplies ranked by their reliability, build quality, features, etc... The higher the tier the better. I wouldn't recommend anything of D tier or lower. (Which unfortunately my current PSU falls under D tier, though for reasons I don't entirely agree with.)

TheKDub reacted to Syfes in YT channel copyright-claimed for using YT audio library song
YouTube creator Matt Lowne is a relatively popular Youtuber in the Kerbal Space Program community. Very recently, pretty much all of his channel's video's have received copyright claims by SonyATV, referring to a song he uses in many of his channel's intros.

According to Matt Lowne, this song called "Dreams" was originally listed in the YouTube Audio Library and could be used under creative commons license, but it seems that the rights for this song may have recently been acquired by SonyATV. Following this, it seems that SonyATV has issued corresponding copyright claims for videos on his channel dating back years.

I have no knowledge of something similar happening previously, but this could set a concerning precedent? How many other creators may have this song on their videos? What happens when other songs receive the same treatment?

It's pretty normal for the industry. Some major keyboard manufacturers require you to cut the cable off if you're RMAing so they can avoid paying the shipping costs. I know for a fact that SteelSeries requires you to break off the left and right mouse buttons if you need a replacement.

TheKDub reacted to WereCatf in Adding more cores doesnt improve performance-intel exec
I think the quote “For gaming, 8-cores is the optimal spot for performance scaling in modern PC gaming,” is the most telling and actually counters his own claims: it was still just last year that Intel was saying that 4 cores is enough for games and POOF -- a year later the sweet spot is double that? Yeah, it just goes to show that increases in core-count will be taken advantage of and rather quickly, too.

Sure, 8 cores could certainly be the sweet spot now, but take, say, 4-5 years from now? It could well be that there are games that can use all 16 cores. Pushing for more cores lets devs go wild, it adds headroom for them to play with.

According to the article posted on Techquila, Ryan Shrout (Intels chief performance strategist) says on medium that adding cores doesnt improve performance before amds new launches. the article basically bashes his statements.he didn't even test an AMD CPU just tested gaming at different core counts.
according to ryan 8 cores is the seet spot and any more cores wont help in gaming.
the testing methodology is itself flawed.
is this really what independent journalism should be like? the core count opinion sounds dated.
    he also said
while this is true intel itslef is increasing their own core counts so these statements seem idiotic.why would they make such stupid statements?
statements like these reduce intels rep.

    (link to story)
How do you innovate in a market completely dominated by yourself? By stealing from someone and then crushing them with a lawsuit, of course.

Everybody's favorite iPhone maker, Apple, is making some serious moves in the security research field by asserting that they can and will steal from you. This has been in the news for a couple months now but is really starting to get juicy with information as Corellium starts to plead their case.
So in short, Corellium has managed to create a virtual iOS to make it significantly easier for security researchers to poke and prod at iOS without fear of breaking a physical device. Not only is this virtual iOS useful for researchers, it's useful for Apple themselves. Actually, it was so useful to Apple themselves, Corellium alleges that Apple actively encouraged their product, had intimate knowledge of the product, and told Corellium that it could have a big impact. Apple appeared to be quite excited by the product and wanted to buy the whole company, even. Well, about a year and a half after considering an acquisition, Apple decided to sue Corellium for infringing their IPs.

Oh, and, not only did Apple decide to sue Corellium, Apple currently owes Corellium $300,000 for bugs that they had submitted through Apple's bug bounty program. The story so far seems to be that Corellium had submitted those bugs some time back, but figured everything was fine when they didn't get paid right away due to how friendly talks with Apple had been. It seems that Apple didn't get their way, so they just decided to sue Corellium into non-existence instead.

Here's a good tweet to summarize the situation.

(For those who can't view tweets)

Well, if you wanted a legitimate reason to dislike Apple, here you go. This is a really abusive move from Apple to try and take absolute control of an industry and all their lawsuit has done has made them look incredibly bad.
