It's not the LTT "Stealth" Hoodie, it's just one with a vaguely similar design. I wouldn't be surprised if the Walmart one uses trash materials and is poor quality in general compared to the LTT hoodie.

Which is better streaming platform? Facebook or YouTube
TheKDub replied to YohanSeals's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I'd imagine YouTube would be better by quite a bit. -
Will my toe nail going to heal or grow a new one?
TheKDub replied to Flying Sausages's topic in Off Topic
Could take a couple months for it to fully grow out. Everyone is different. A bandaid won't likely do much to help. If it's catching on your socks or something, you could put some tape over it (or a bandaid), that way there aren't any sharp edges to catch. Don't rip the broken part off or pick at it, just let your body heal on its own. You'll just have to give it some time. -

I know it's possible already through software such as RiftCat, however you've gotta have some damn fast wifi, and it costs money. The same software can also be used for connecting your phone to your PC to use with something like google cardboard vr. I tested it a little with my phone (I don't have a VR headset or google cardboard or anything). Tracking was a bit buggy, and the resolution was pretty low. Not sure if was just my settings, or how the Quest would fare with it. Not to mention the Quest only has about 2-2.5 hours of battery life. Not sure how the whole Oculus Link thing is going to work out. If it'll be able to push the full 2880x1600 (1440x1600 per eye) resolution @ 72Hz, as well as charge the Quest and keep it powered during use, I might advocate for that over the Rift S for a few reasons... The Quest has a higher resolution (1440x1600 per eye opposed to 1280x1440 per eye on the Rift S), OLED displays instead of LCD, hardware IPD adjustment, and the ability to play unlinked from the PC if desired. The Rift Quest does have 72Hz displays instead of the 80Hz of the Rift S, though I'm not sure how noticeable that change will be. I have very briefly used the Quest and it felt fine to me. It also has one less camera than than the Rift S, but I'm not sure if that will affect tracking much or at all. On the flip side, if the Oculus Link can't deliver full resolution or keep the Quest powered during use, then I'd just go with the Rift S.

Get the Rift S. IIRC the Quest is standalone, whereas the Rift S uses your PC. You'll be able to play more on the Rift S with your PC than on the Quest by itself.

is 80 Degrees C OK for i7 9700?
TheKDub replied to Khader87's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
80c is a little bit toasty. You could try increasing your pump speed if possible. If that doesn't help, I'd try to remount the cooler again. Make sure you're completely cleaning off the thermal paste from the CPU and waterblock then applying new thermal paste. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. My 8700K draws around 110W under full load OC'd to 4.8GHz @ 1.2v, and often reaches 76-80c. If you're worried about it, you could try dropping the voltage a bit if stable. -
If you plug a hub into a USB 3.0 port (640MB/s), the connected devices have a maximum of 640MB/s available. So if you had an SSD connected to it and were copying files from it around 400MB/s, the rest of the devices only have about 240MB/s to use until the SSD is done. You can connect USB 2.0 devices to USB 3.0 ports, and USB 3.0 devices to USB 2.0 ports. (However I wouldn't recommend it unless speeds aren't a concern, as USB 2.0 is quite a bit slower)

Yes, it's safe. Just don't breathe in water.

Are PCIe 4.0 speeds worth it?
TheKDub replied to ABunchaHerbs's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
NVMe SSDs don't have a ton of benefit over SATA SSDs for booting windows, loading games/applications, etc... You'd see maybe a few seconds difference for Windows, if that, and might not see any difference for games/applications. NVMe was generally no more than a second faster than SATA. (One game was about two seconds faster, but most were still <1 second faster) -
I wouldn't recommend this for several reasons. 1. Electrical tape is generally vinyl, and tends to be somewhat grippy, especially if wet or if it's humid. 2. Electrical tape will leave that cable covered in disgusting slimy adhesive when you take it off. 3. The tape will likely come loose or fall off over time as the cable gets bent back and forth, moved around, rubbed on stuff, etc... In other words, don't do it. Maybe try one of those mouse bungee things? https://amzn.to/2nZ399k How do they work? The arms of it are springs. If you pull on the cable, it'll bend or stretch. Otherwise it'll just sit there holding the cable up so it's not dragging around on the desk or falling down behind the desk causing lots of friction if you need to pull your mouse away.

(Solved) Help! New network card not working in old motherboard.
TheKDub replied to MythicalNinja's topic in Networking
I'm just checking as part of the troubleshooting process, since you didn't provide the information that I was asking about in your post. If you're going to be aggressive and unappreciative because of me trying to help you, then you're on your own, and don't expect anyone to want to help you.- 10 replies

And you did connect it to a USB header as well? Maybe try a different header?- 10 replies

He's in several. LMG makes ads for companies, it's not a big surprise. I'm pretty sure Colton and/or some other LMG employees have been spotted in ads as well.

Did you mean Intel AC 9260? What's the M.2 to PCIe 1x adapter that you're using? Have you tried installing the drivers?- 10 replies

Are glasses waterproof? Can I wear my new glasses in rain?
TheKDub replied to WolfLoverPro's topic in Off Topic
no you'll short out the electronics and fry your brain. /s Yes, they're "waterproof". I'd just be sure to clean them afterwards to get any dirt, minerals, etc.. off of them. -
