The Cool n00B

So last night I was playing some GTA V when my computer suddenly died and my room fell dead silent. Confused, I looked to said computer and saw a couple nasty lookin sparks come out from the power connector on my graphics card. Now I'm left with a dead 1070 and must buy a new card. At least it gives me an excuse to upgrade, right? Anyway, as I woke up this morning, I was thinking about what happened and it occured to me that the culprit could've been my PSU. It's an old EVGA unit, probably 5-6 yrs old and I bought it refurbished (had no idea, this is why you read product descriptions!). Is it possible that the PSU could've fried my card like this? Should I get a new one? If so which one should I get (around 650W)?

So, my graphics card died this past Sunday. I just found out today that my water cooler leaked gross oily blue fluid all over my graphics card. Fuck me. Anyway, I need a new 1070, I previously had a Gigabyte 1070 Xtreme Gaming, which always ran at 2030 MHz boost while staying really cool and totally inaudible. I'd just buy a new one but that's $460 I don't have to spend in a situation like this. I need something less than $460 (preferably under $420) that is close to 1.8 GHz boost and has neutral-ish colors (not the red MSI Gaming 8G). EDIT: If it wasn't obvious, it needs to be another 1070.

I swear to the holy spirits that I don't believe in that Brita water tastes better than tap, at least the tap at my home, and if nothing else the Brita is good cold water pitcher.

Well the i5 because games won't use multiple cores so the hyperthreading will be useless as far as you'll be conserned. As far as the PSU, witness:

Get a 6600 (cpu) and better PSU, something 80+ Gold will be pretty good quality if you're not overclocking. That and a 480 should fit nicely down the line.

Right so it's been a while since I was here, but let's get down to business. Now that we have that out the way, my water cooling AIO is super turning blue. Now, since it's Swiftech and therefore doesn't suck, if I were to hypotetically drain it and put new water in it, can I use bottled water that's been through a Brita? I'd go out and buy some water, but seeing as I don't actually go out (and buying filtered water is a rip off), is it catostrophic if I just kinda pour some Stop and Shop Acadia water through my brita and call it good enough? +
