    I think the ultimate issue with the subscription plea being at the beginning is one of scripting. We all know Linus isn't the best at segues (e.g. WAN show) and I think the subscription plea at the beginning is really jarring.  We were so used to "as always don't forget to subscribe" at the end of videos, so any change would be jarring, but I think the scripting for the new format is focus-breaking.
