  1. I would love to see some more chair reviews! They are a very important pice of the overall personal computing puzzle and are rather neglected by most tech journalists. I like the idea of LMG going to Ikea or even Staples and finding some good low cost office chairs. I usually am not on the whole "do more budget items Linus!" train, but "good" office chairs are extremely pricey.
  2. This happens to me from time to time in Chrome. It usually clears up with a page refresh.
  3. Hello everyone! I am in the market for a new keyboard and have a rather fundamental question regarding keyboard quality. I am interested in the Tt eSports Challenger Prime gaming keyboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823162033). My question is this: I am using an old Dell OEM keyboard that it is not really all that bad, is this or any other "value" keyboard going to be an improvement or am I better off to save and get a mechanical keyboard, even though I'm not too picky about my keyboard. Thanks for any input!
  4. I think the ultimate issue with the subscription plea being at the beginning is one of scripting. We all know Linus isn't the best at segues (e.g. WAN show) and I think the subscription plea at the beginning is really jarring. We were so used to "as always don't forget to subscribe" at the end of videos, so any change would be jarring, but I think the scripting for the new format is focus-breaking.
  5. That water cooler is something I could use to overclock my FX-6300! Thanks Linus Media Group and Antec for the chance to win!
  6. As above, I'm no expert, but I believe, currently, there is no solution like this out there. I have heard that with the advent of USB 3 Type C, that there could be the possibility of GPU add-ons for laptops.
  7. @DigitalHermit what would the benefit be to switching boards? What is the difference between the 990fx and 970?
  8. Hello everyone! Back again. I have made a few minor changes to my past prospective build and would love some feedback. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/v4xPvK Thanks a bunch!
  9. I probably should have explained my rationale for part selection in my first post so .... here we go: MSI r9 270 is an excellent overclocker as its stock cooler is extreme over kill. Slick overclocked it to the max and never crossed 60C or 50% fan speed. It is also the card used in Jayztwocent's 2nd rig and he was able to achieve high to ultra on BF4 with it. FX6300: in the words of Logan from Tek Syndicate is an "extreme price for performance bargain," and with newer games leveraging multiple cores it is a much better investment going forward than the G3258 or an i3 dual or quad (at least to me, it is $100 after all). @eX.Drunk, I did forget the ram! I am going to get a dual channel 8gb set clocked at 1600mhz from a reputable company (cheapest I can get). Thanks for the tip on the ssd I will definitely spring for something better and possibly a better cooler for the cpu but I don't think this Gigabyte board is too great for OC'ing so that might be irrelevant.
  10. Hello Everyone! This is the build I have finally settled on after months of internal debate. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/R4FpD3 I would really appreciate it if ya'll would look it over and provide any suggestions/critiques to make it better or to catch any compatibility mistakes or bottlenecking I might have missed. Hoping to play BF4 on high to ultra, Skyrim on high to ultra with mods, and pretty much anything else on high to ultra (excluding ridiculous power suckers like Metro or Crysis 3). Thanks a bunch!
  11. Linus Media Group has, more than anything else, been an educational set of channels for me. I have learned so much about computers and other technology from you all. I wish ya'll nothing but the best going forward!
  12. Hello Everyone! I am planning to sell a macbook pro I received as a graduation present after seeing how much they are going for on ebay ($800-$1500!!), and would like to convert this new cash into a "real" desktop gaming PC. I really do not care about brands or companies, all I want is a really good value for the money. I would like to play games like Skyrim, Civilization V, and Tomb Raider etc. (really pretty much anything). I live in the U.S. and do not have a preference when it comes to case type or size. I will not have to purchase windows (I have a license) and I have a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Thanks So Much!

  14. Hello everyone! I am looking to build a $400-$500 gaming PC. I live in the U.S. and would want to play games like Skyrim, Obilivion, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, etc. Not too worried about playing games at high settings going forward, but want a solid 60fps and high to ultra on games up to 2014 with upgrades as an option to play newer games as they come out. Not included in the budget would be a display (I have an AOC 23" 1080p IPS display), mouse and keyboard, speakers, or windows (I will just transfer my license from my Mac). My current machine is a mid 2012 MacBook Pro with Intel Core i5 dual-core 2.5 GHz CPU, Intel HD 4000 graphics, 4gb ram, and 5400 RPM 500gb hard drive. I got it as a graduation present and, as you can tell from the specs it is not meant for gaming Thanks for any insight!
