  3. Im looking to upgrade my mother's computer to an SSD for christmas and wondering the easiest way to clone her hard drive and get it on to the new drive. There are no unused sata connections available in the pc itself as it is a prebuilt, but id like to avoid the hastle of re-installing windows and updating drivers etc
  4. I would take my fx8350 processor and use it for target practice for lining up a new scope id buy with the money id save from not buying this chip myself. Then id pair it with an x99 deluxe motherboard 16gb of hyperx ram and start streaming at a reasonable resolution finally

Theres no reason to need 120 FPS anything past 60-70 is pretty much irrelevant. That being said max settings on any 1440p monitor is extremely gpu intsensive and even with SLI 980s dont expect to see triple digit FPS. Congratz on managing to actually get a hold of some though as everywhere is non-stop sold out. Edit, i thought it was 4k monitor you were talking about, my bad im a little tired . But yeah, it will be a more than fine set up, just not really needed to worry about getting 120fps
  6. The carbon fiber finish on the zotac extreme looks ballin IMO and especially on the 900 series cards which are already the bees knees
  7. because its double data rate ram, ddr. So thats the rams single rate performance, its running at 1444
  8. I use a 970 chipset motherboard for my 8350 using the m5a97 r2.0 and i havnt had the best overclocking experience with it so far. *edit* that being said, i dont know if that means the 990 chipset is that much better, depending on the motherboard brand that may vary such as a 970 from gigabyte
  9. I'm glad to see linus has made a career doing what he loves, even if it isnt all its cracked up to be with all the behind the scenes work and stress. Found the channel through a friend who has been watching since theres was only 50,000 subscribers and linus has become my go to source of reviews and news for anything computer. My favorite thing about linus is how relatable he is, with his random humor and honesty about mistakes from behind the scenes, and how he looks at the practical side of things. When linus says a mouse is good, but lacks the 'claw grip' feel he likes, well thats not something you can find in most videos and i hope to see more to come
