H-series if only you are using a non K cpu.

Z-series you can use a non K and a K cpu. invest in a Z series now then you wont have to do a board swap for a long time.
and there is nothing wrong with getting a Z-series and putting a non K cpu in it, thats what i have and so i get all the features of a Z board and super fast memory speeds, good onboard sound, wifi etc and having a i7-4790 to me is better than a 4690k

    4790 = 4 cores, 8 threads
    4690k = 4 cores 4 threads

4790 is also rated slightly better performance and uses less power. so a win win

no contest i would get a i7 4790k if you have good cooler and can afford it or a 4790 will save you and still be enough performance
GTX970 is better but again its all about cost.

    Hey guys,

Small update on the build and a very special announcement!

    Firstly the announcement!

I'm very proud to say that the TOXIC CHROME build has been nominated in the Bit-Tech Mod of the Month for May 2015. You can find the voting link hereif you want to show some love for my build!

Such an honor to have been nominated!

And now on to the build! I have the windows on, 3mm thick clear acrylic. Hope you guys like it.
Think the windows look very good on the outside, something different! What do you guys think?

    Thanks for checking it out!

    Cheers,

    Alex

I like it and wondering have you used a test piece of this acrylic to see how it cleans, if it leaves small microscopic scratches?
on my build i did (which looks similar) i used lexan and in the sunlight you can see very small scratches, so not sure if there is a product for cleaning scratch free, and in the future i might get a glass company to make the same side panels for my rig out of toughened or bullet proof glass then they would never scratch.

I think the step in the acrylic is ok, if you wanted a flush fit its possible by using a piece slightly bigger and get it machined so it sits from the underside and just pops through by the thickness of the side or top panel and then use some thin double side tape and then some soft alloy aviation grade rivets the same colour as the blue or grey on the 4 holes as there already is holes and it would give it extra hold, but its a lot of work.

wow i really like the colours and contrast you have used, as well as the awesome work that is super neat and professional.
I think you are setting the standard for other builders now, as just plain black cases factory built with no changes are just not cutting it today, you have to do mods or a scratch to get a 10/10 and i think this is a 10/10 from me. will be nice to see if you are doing any lighting and what it looks like in the dark and day time.
also running temps, noise specs will be good.

looking baller now, very neat and nice. just something about m-itx builds there so compact and a challenge but also pretty cool and awesome.
my custom build i did is like less than half the size of my old rig and twice the power, and quieter. so it just shows with some thought, good design and hard work what can be done.
I assume when you can afford to that you will upgrade the CPU to an i5 or i7? i really like the i7-4790 (non K) as its got enough performance, hyper-threading, quiet and cooler than a K. and cheaper.

this is top dog, love all this NASA standard of engineering going on here, one thing stands out though, "Don't spill your cup of tea on the components" haha, well looks like tea.

I also like the fact its a different colour, as plain black cases are yesterday, cheap and boring, now yours in the blue and contrast of colours is nice
I just finished building a scratch m-itx and painted it myself, its called hunter green, and i like it. right from the start i designed and measured it to the mm for the components that are in there now and it runs sweet, quiet and its a little power house. yours is going to be awesome, all that work will be worth it.

I like this man its nice, m-itx builds are a challenge and good to see that your putting a lot of thought and work into customizing the case and doing lots of cool stuff.
good pics and nice to see the frame naked and them components laid out and a lot of thought gone into it.

lost for words, this is very very nice and will inspire many people to do a custom design and build project.
I just spent 7 months building the "earth build" and it takes time and money and if you don't have a workshop like me you have to make do with what you have.
    This is 10+ / 10

This is looking good, i agree on what you said about the cases, its just not good enough nowadays for a build project to buy a fully build factory manufactured type case, and in most of the time people have boring black. so good to see people like you with some difference and style.
whats all the specs of cpu, gpu etc

oh my, this is top dog, like "jaw drop" so quality and amazing components.
i do like Asus components and all this is going to be an amazing rig, interested to see what the case is.
and how do you get sponsored? i just build a scratch rig with hard earned money.
good job so far, nice pictures, looking forward to see the next stage.

for single monitor a 24" is perfect, yoiu can also ask in stores for a ex demo or display unit and get reduced price. you want a 5ms or less responce time monitor, LED, LCD is good.
for parts if on a budget, you can get stuff in sales, recomditioned, refurbished, used good lest gen from places like components stores, ebay etc.
i am just about to put up an advert to sell some good quality componments as i don't have the room for 3 computers now, i just finished building my future / new build but my other one is still very good and great value / performance. i will most likely just sell the m/board / cpu & ram. plus the 2x graphics cards and maybe the SSD.
so i also looked here to see if anyone is wanting a good budget build.
parts i have are Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 m/board, FX6300 cpu, Kingston genesis 2133mhz 16 gig memory kit, Samsung 120 gig 840 series SSD, 2x Asus HD 7790 2gig edition o/c graphics cards. good for 1080p gaming.

this is a nice clean build and good to see people here still do an AMD build, not everyone can afford top of the line super expensive components, this should easy run some nice games and programmes.
is your GPU the 4gig edition? just after seeing a GTA5 benchmarking video that 3 or 4 gig of onboard video ram is good to have nowadays and was looking the the R9 270x 4gi myself and wondered what it performes like.

this thing look really really amazing with a lot of thought, planning, hard work gone into the custom design and mods that have taken place, love the colours and the contrast you have used with the white and green etc, its all works and is so fresh & different to other builds. 10/10 so far.
soon i will be posting my build log as been doing a custom scratch build for the last 6 months and its also green case, looks like green is so 2015 haha.

wow though i have to say this but man oh man you should have read up on engineering / welding first those welds are discusting, you need to clean the metal completly first, dirty metal will cause a bad weld, it will be nice once you have cleaned it all up though.

    Hey guys,

Here are the pics of the completed loop, in light and dark as well as with the UV LEDs!

Quite a lot of pics incoming !!!

Sorry I took so long to get these up, been caught up with other things and I'm about to start two new builds too!

Still a few things left to do on this build though:

    - Fix the side panel on the left side where you can see the case frame through the window, will add some vinyl to cover it
    - Mod the Nvidia SLI Bridge, I have white Plasti Dip in now
    - Get new SSDs, mod them to fit the theme and mount them in the back

I will do the final photo shoot of the build once all that is done. But don't wanna keep everyone waiting so here is the build as it is now.
