Hello. Im new to veracrypt and I will admit I should have made a backup of my container but never did. Onto my problem. Windows keeps persisting with checkdisk thinking where my container is located there is a problem. every startup it attempts to but I always catch it and cancel. yesterday I missed that and windows went through with chkdisk and now my container reads 0kb size and getting the error container wrong size. when I try to restore it I get, An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file. Source: RestoreVolumeHeader:11117. what can one do to recover the container? thank you

Speed from PIA is good 80% of the time. Get about 70%-85% of my connection through them. Just cant work out the startup problems I am having.

Hi. I have been trying to sort out my RAM usage in Windows 10. Whenever I run a game or use Chrome my RAM is pegged at usually 7gb out 16gb. I can't seem to access my full allotment of RAM available. This problem has persisted for quite some time now. I have done fresh installs on Windows 10 with the same problem persisting. No errors typically unless I run a game with Chrome open then I'll see the error message saying my system is low on memory but I can see I am only using 7gb or so. A side note to this problem, my system on occasion will just randomly freeze or turn off when it is at idle. Never happens when the system is stressed. Thanks for any help Edit- system was built in 2012 so maybe hardware is just getting old

@Gikero I have checked before what you have mentioned and checked recently. There is nothing that seems that it would be causing the problem. Some more background info, last year I did a fresh install of Windows 7 and then upgraded to Windows 10. My problem persisted through both operating systems. And the problem was there before I did a fresh install of Windows 7.

Any insight on this problem would be much appreciated.

For programs I have Chrome usually open. Then sometimes I get the low memory warning and to close all open programs or the other error stating a program needs to be closed because I ran out of memory. When I view task manager I am at about 50% in use when I see an error pop up. Errors also pop up when I launch a game and have chrome running as well. Again task manager will show memory at about 50-60% in use. I am using windows 10 Pro. Computer is 4.5 years old. Updated to show task manager and error.

Hi. I have been trying to fix my constant out of memory errors with windows 10/windows 7 for quite a bit now. Any suggestions as to why, when I view task manager my computer can't pull more than 8gb out of the 16gb limit? Every time I reach 8gb in use the computer refuses to use the remaining amount. I have run memtest86 and the built in utility windows has. No errors reported. I find it confusing that I cant use any of the remaining 8gb left. Thanks for any help.

I have the sleep function turned on currently to turn off display. I have tested with and without it. When it is on and I leave it to sleep without physically touching the monitor button and wake the display back theres no problem. Only when I physically terminate the power to the display then turning it back on I cant get a signal.

Hi members. I have this odd problem I can't quite work out. Tried to dig for some solutions with no luck. I got 2 cards installed on Wednesday and everything went fine. Updated all drivers for gpu, motherboard, and bios. I even rolled back one driver for the gpu. Sli appears to be working when I bench it or play a game. Both cards are recognized. The problem is when I turn the monitor off for over a minute either logged in or not into Windows 7 I can't get a signal between the 2 when I turn the display back on. Basically monitor tells me no input. When I disabled sli everything works as it should. Only way to get an input back to the monitor is restarting it. I have tried display port dvi and hdmi all same problem. Why would turning the monitor off cause my input to stop? Thanks for any input
