Most of this information is provided by AdoredTV, I highly suggest watching this video for more information.
Edit 1: These leaks were released after the ones that were posted on Reddit (which I cannot find at the moment, if someone can find them, that'd be great!)
Another edit: AdoredTV stated the following regarding the Reddit leak referenced in his video:
Edit 2: Here is the link to another older leak (Thank you Crunchy Dragon!):

Here are some pictures of the silver version with radiator on top. Sorry for the image quality  I only have a smartphone here and the light wasn't that good outside.

Lian Li build the prototypes again and now the quality is very good. Here are some pictures of the top i/o version:

Annnnnd... Here's the first specimen for the build; the ASRock X399 Taichi Threadripper board. I was between z370 and x299 Micro ATX originally, but I pretty much chose Threadripper again because it's just, well, more interesting - and this board existing sealed the deal. I think it's absolutely gorgeous   I've also received some other parts as well - M.2 SSD's, M.2 heatsinks, and GPU's. For the GPU's I switched from 1070 TI's to 1080's.

Sooooo…. After much deliberation, I've made a big component change to the build.... I've decided to go with the Asrock x399m Taichi Micro ATX, Threadripper board. The board will be with me in a few days. It's just too damn beautiful   It will be paired with a 1900x. My goal is for this build to be done in time for the game's release of early October, so IF Threadripper 2 chips pop up a decent time before then (they're supposedly still x399 compatible) I'll use one of those. But I will most likely stick with the 1900x.

Here are some more pictures of the C4-SFX. Yes you look right there is no type-c port on the i/o. I tried everything to keep it but the port itself requires a very long part behind the port that will collide with the front hdd. The supplier make some tests to make it shorter but failed.

Here are some first shots of the C4-SFX made by Lian Li. I will get more the next days. Keep in mind, that the Window panel screws are not the correct one. Currently you see a acrylic sample of the Window Kit because the tempered glass version isn't done:

mosin40 reacted to Humbug in AMD Raven Ridge mobile graphics are faster than the Intel Iris Plus 640
Vega draws a lot of power when it is configured in desktop form with voltages raised and clocks cranked up in order to reach GTX 1080 performance. Every architecture has a zone where performance per watt is optimal. Desktop Vega is pushed way past that zone in order to compete with Nvidia. It's a valid criticism of desktop Vega. But it has no bearing on Vega perf/watt in an APU.

Another example; look at the Polaris architecture.
An RX580 draws almost 200 watts.
An RX550 draws only 48 watts and runs of PCIE power.
Both are Polaris stand alone desktop GPUs...

For Raven Ridge we aren't even talking about a standalone GPU anymore, we are talking about an APU. And AMD knows they only need to beat Intel graphics, not Nvidia.

It could end up being very efficient, we will just have to wait and see...

Unless you're doing heeeeeaavy workstation-type stuff, you're rarely going to max out 16 gigs.

RAM is an easy upgrade. Just go for 16 right now and grab more when you need to, and put the money you save into either buying faster RAM, a better graphics card, or maybe going from an R5-1600 to an R7-1700.

I have an $5000 budget and it's about time to upgrade my PC. Performance has been pretty lame.
Currently using a i7 4790k with an R9 Fury and 32GB of RAM on a fiber line. My current setup simply can't keep up anymore.

I'd like to stream HBO at a silky smooth 24 FPS.
I don't play games or anything, I usually use my PC to spread bitterness through online forums and discord.

mosin40 reacted to Mira Yurizaki in rumor has it id just removed Denuvo DRM from Doom (2016)
There are three main reasons why people pirate games:
They want to "demo" the game before they buy it. The game isn't available in their territory. The game costs too much. The last point has two subcamps of course, those who want to buy it, just not at the full price, and those who refuse to spend money on it. The former just needs to be beaten over the head and learn patience for a sale or admit they're part of the latter camp. The latter camp you can't ever convince to not pirate the game.

Sales for are at their highest in the first few weeks from launch. I'm fine with the middle ground of DRM being present for a limited time.

mosin40 reacted to Vitalius in Fix navigation for a better user experience.
The following is a response to another thread that I figure deserved it's own thread.
I realize the "Go to Staff page" step is unnecessary, but that's the first approach I took. I expected the Navigation Menu to change because I vaguely remembered getting to Member Search from it before. I just included it to show you why I tried #2.

The concept of a website changing it's navigation depending on where you are in it is only a good idea, imo, if the location has something the rest of the website doesn't. i.e. If you are in a different permissions area and have more or difference choices in what you can do. If you're in a section of the website where something only works there. That type of thing.

Doing it for what appears to be an arbitrary reason like "You aren't .... anywhere?" is strange to me.

Please fix this. I shouldn't have to go through two web pages to access a core feature like Search or My Activity Streams. It's not about being lazy as a user. It's that that's just not good web design and it doesn't create an enjoyable user experience.

The fact that that is the process I used to find Search is, imo, indicative of another deeper problem. But that's a post for another thread/time.

My recently finished project, well mostly finished minus the writing on the sword. Saber's Excalibur. Started out as skyrim mod then converted into a printable stl and sliced into about 14ish parts and 3d printed. They were assembled and then primed and sanded and painted. Also most of the origional files were edited to match the actual anime sword a bit better. All in all about 30ish hours including printing. Maybe about $15 in filament. Turned out pretty decent though could have been better if i had the proper sanding tools.
