  4. I'm really enjoying this conversation that we got going here, very interesting information for someone like me that doesn't know much about high-end audio equipment. I'm currently looking at these two, as per recommendations: 1. http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=120&cp_id=12008&cs_id=1200801&p_id=11567&seq=1&format=2 2. http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-E10K-Headphone-Amplifier-Black/dp/B00LP3AMC2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1424402767&sr=1-1&keywords=fiio+e10k For my 250 Ohm headphones (DT990) which one would you all vote for? Also, one question; for the Monoprice amp, I would connect it with the USB going to my PC correct? Not the other outputs? Thanks.
  5. That's basically what I was just about to comment on, they seem to be basically the same product just with some small differences such as the price point? Thanks for the recommendations by the way, these all seem to fit my needs well. Edit: Nevermind, the DAC in the Monoprice one makes it seem like a better option, plus it looks pretty slick.
  6. Hey everyone, I'm looking for a decent amplifier for my headphones, as a little birthday present to myself. I'm currently using my Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm headphones. (By the way, they are amazing.) Link: http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/shop/dt-990-pro.html I would love to know what you all think in terms of what amplifier would work well with these headphones. I've heard great things about the audio sub-forum, and would appreciate any input you all could give me. As for the price range, I'm looking for something relatively cheap and entry-level, if there is anything well regarded in or around the $50-$100 range I would love to check it out. I was looking at this one by FiiO, but don't really know if it would pair well with the DT990's. 7. I'd love to win Thanks for doing this giveaway, the LTT community really is awesome.
  8. Oops, sorry, I neglected to check if the deal worked outside of the US. I guess I'm just super Americentric.
  9. This is an insane deal! If you need an SSD, buy one or two of these immediately. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BQ8RM1A/ref=pe_172030_130188630_em_1p_1_ti I wish this deal was around when I built my new PC a week ago, this is insane. Enjoy, everyone. EDIT: They seem to have run out of stock/raised the price, sorry. Still a great deal at $94!
  10. Ah, I thought it would be a wiring issue, it appears I was correct. Look up some tutorials online for the correct cables to components, and then you should have a functional system. Unless you overpowered something and destroyed it. Remember, 24pin on the side of the mobo., 8pin (usually) at the top-left for the CPU, and 6+2pin for the GPU. Hope it works!
  11. Make sure that you have plugged in the 8pin CPU power in the top-left. Also the power going to your 970. Also troubleshooting your RAM might be a good step. Good luck buddy
  12. Maybe look into getting a smaller heater? This would save you money and stop the data loss, etc.. Otherwise, try to plan with your family and yourself about how much power is being used at what times, and how you can try to minimize the power loss. Or, of course, a UPS is always an amazing investment in a situation like this. Check out this one, it is very cheap and just a great purchase in general; http://www.amazon.com/APC-Back-UPS-Outlet-550VA-120V/dp/B0019804U8/ref=lp_764572_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1419555935&sr=1-1 Good luck!
  13. Do you have an adapter to plug the SSD into another computer? You just need an external way to plug SATA power/data into USB. If you can, do this and try copying a few files while listening for any strange noises. Good luck buddy
  14. Start the long process of downloading and installing all of the drivers for your peripherals, use Google to find them all. It can take a while unfortunately.
