  1. Im currently running a 2700x non-oc, but it does ramp up to 4.2 GHz using XFR. I am using a EVGA CLC 280mm AIO watercooler. When looking at my temps, msi afterburner and hwmonitor both say my cpu is at 71 C, but when I look at MSI Command Center and EVGA flow control, i get a reading of around 63. Which software should I trust? I've heard HWmonitor has been acting a bit strange with the new ryzen systems.
  2. lmao, certainly it makes your computer much more hotter when it has a bra
  3. Hi guys, I just bought a Corsair HG10 water cooler with the H60 on my r9 290x for cooler and quieter operation, but I then later saw that my card is slightly bent towards the end (PCIe power side). Is this normal or OK, or could it potentially break my card? The card works flawlessly now with no errors at all. I'm just asking down the road if it could damage it. Thanks.
  4. you mean keep an eye on the motherboard temps right? my cpu temps are barely 60 under full load
  5. i dont believe that my motherboard is cheap is it?
  6. so my mosfet wouldnt burn to a crisp
  7. Hi guys I just upgraded my terrible FX 6300 to an intel 4690k on the z97 pc mate motherboard. Currently i am getting about 4,4 GHz on 1.25 volts. If i say go for 4.6 or 4.7 at 1.3 could i burn the vrm on my motherboard? i burnt my first asrock motherboard with my fx 6300 where it was near 1.55 volts at 4.6 ghz. in conclusion, would 1.29 ish volts be bad for my motherboard i think it has a 4 + 2 power phase design. thank you
  8. what happened was the socket cover slipped out of my hands
  9. Hi, about 1 and a half weeks ago, I bought a 4460 with a Z97 PC Mate, however I decided to return both of them the next day because of some reasons I shall not bore you with. However, upon uninstalling my CPU from the motherboard and putting back the socket cover I bent 20 pins. MSI agreed to send me a new one for the cost of 45, however I cannot return it for a refund. I will be saving until the summer for a new haswell CPU, and would the 4690k be enough for my r9 290 if I decide to buy a 144 Hz for high refresh rate gaming, or should i save for an i7 haswell CPU, thank you so much.
  10. wow i got the z97 pc mate and 4460 i reinstalled windows 3 times and also drivers all of them, updated bios, and i somehow got lower fps in gta 5 i might have to consider returning them both, and sticking to my old fx 6300
  11. one thing: i should invest about 60 dollars more for a z97 pc mate rather than a garbage h81 right? because i want stability as well
  12. how so, i mean are there any cases where an fx 6300 be even as good as an i5? its single core performance is terrible, and it consumes way to much power for that terrible performance
  13. IS IT WORTH IT TO SPEND 180 MORE ON A Z97 AND 4690K OR JUST GO FOR A H81 P33 AND 4460?
  14. Thanks! Is it worth it to spend 150 more on a z97 motherboard and 4690k, or just go with a h81 p33 and 4460? I still am on a budget and if there aren't huge performance gains, I shall stick to a 4460.
  15. i have an r9 290 btw and its performing shit with my fx 6300, also i plan to upgrade to a 144hz monitor so i need the cpu power to push that many frames.
  16. Hi guys I have a serious question that I hope you can help me solve: I'm thinking of selling my old Fx-6300 CPU along with my MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard, both for around 200 CAD. The Intel CPU I'm thinking of buying is a 4460 for about 260 CAD, alongside it a cheap but reputable motherboard, since I will not overclock it any. I was thinking of getting the MSI H81 P33 motherboard for about 65 CAD. Is this a good CPU, Motherboard? If not I would love to hear your guys' take on this matter. Thank you very much.
  17. Guys I need some advice. I have an r9 290 reference card and its running quite hot. I have a cpu aio water cooler, but i dont want to remove the heatsink. do u guys think it would be a good idea to place the cooler on the back side of the gpu die so it will at least help dissipate the heat away? will there be a short on the gpu if i do so? im planning to mount the cooler on the gpu die mini backplate. thanks in advance.
  18. Idk when i looked at my rad's fins they were kind of mostly bent, however i think it stopped working because of a bad pump. its only been 8 months : (
  19. I know right, I've changed my entire perception on CPU cooling in the last 15 minutes
  20. So my Antec 650 water cooler broke today, with idle temps reaching 70 degrees on my fx 6300 at 4.2 Ghz. Before this, I used to get an idle temp of 30 C and load of 65 C, however, i replaced it with my deep cool 20$ CAD air cooler that I bought 1 year ago with my full build. Now i oc'ed to 4.5 ghz at 1.45 volts, and idle is 25 C and load is 44 C. Im never using AIO liquid cooling again, il just buy air coolers as the water cooler's maintenance and installing was not even worth it.
  21. Currently I have a FX-6300 clocked at 4.0 Ghz with 1.35 volts. At idle is about 35, but when i do anything i cramps up to 60. I have a antec 650 with a corsiar sp 120. When i feel the tubes coming from the cpu to the radiator its quite hot, which means the radiator isnt cooling the water properly, however the water coming back is cold. I think this means that the block does make good contact with the chip itself considering the heat is indeed being transferred to the cooling system. I dont know what else to do except add a couple of fans to my system however will that even make a difference, or should i dust out my radiator, since its been about 7 weeks since ive done so. Im also using an r9 290 that also kicks in heat to the system.
  22. if the CPU was damaged i don't think would even post you've get yourself another problem...
  23. I would highly suggest getting your power supply as I don't think any other component could be responsible. However could it possibly be that you loosely assembled your motherboard or dropped a metal object in the case that could shorten the entire thing out?
