  1. I'd just rather not waste a UDB header when I am (supposedly) able to connect it to the link commander instead.
  2. I'm having some trouble here. I recently bought a Corsair Link Commander with the cooling unit. I also got a RM1000 PSU. It's got a Clink output and the product description says I can connect it directly to a USB header or to the Link Commander. I've figured out how to connect it to the USB header, but there doesn't seem to be any way to connect it to the link commander. Does anyone know how to do this and what cable I need to use? Thanks.
  3. $867 - Which is really expensive in the US. But computer components are a lot more expensive in the UK.
  4. It's more the size I'm looking for. I've found it really difficult to find vertical monitors that are the same height as the horizontal one.
  5. Updated the post with a shoddy photoshop! Ahh ballbags. Well I'd still have my uses for them either way.
  6. I'm in the market for a new monitor set up and want a 22-24" monitor in the center with a vertical monitor either side that when vertical matches the height of the horizontal monitor. I know I could just get two 24" monitors but the way my desk is setup I'd be staring at the seam between the two monitors and don't want that. Any suggestions for what I should buy would be brilliant (It'd also be especially good if they were 120-144Hz 3D monitors, but not necessary). Thanks! EDIT: Here is a shoddy photoshop of kind of what i'm looking for. (It's also worth noting that even if I can't use the vertical monitors for eyefinity or something I still have uses for them!)
  7. I didn't think to do this. I have ordered a filter for the rear fan!
  8. Unfortunately not. It's a bit of a awkward case. I shall try that!
  9. That's what I was thinking! Unfortunately not. The 650D is quite limited in fan slots. I was thinking of cutting out a space for a fan on the bottom of the case between the front HDD cages and the PSU, but that's not somthing I want to do just yet if I can help it.
  10. So, I've got a 650D case. So it's got a 200mm intake at the front and a 120mm exhaust at the back. I've got a H110 mounted to the top with the fans in a push, intake configuration at the moment. But I'm unsure if this is the correct setup. Should I have them in a pull/exhaust configuration or a push/pull exhaust config (Can't do Push/exhaust and I'm unsure if the 650D has the space for a push/pull). Thanks. EDIT: Forgot to mention that I've got a GTX 780 with a EVGA ACX cooler on that is exhausting some air out the back.
  11. So, I want a gaming surface that can sit under my keyboard and mouse. The Razer Goliathus Extended is perfect for that, however I absolutely hate the horrid reen design they have on it. Are there any similar alternatives (Keyboard and Mouse mat) that are in all black? Thanks!
  12. Nope! I have indeed to both of those. I have emailed Gigabyte (They don't seem to helpful).
  13. I have indeed! I can't reinstall the BIOS as I simply can't input into the BIOS, so I can't trigger the update. I shall!
  14. This is a followup from this thread: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/27644-my-build-wont-work-and-i-cant-figure-out-why/ After I got the computer to start working I was finally able to see the Motherboard BIOS. It however will not accept any input. I have tried various Keyboards and Mice, some USB and some PS/2. None of them work. I have reset the BIOS to default as well as tried the keyboards in every possible port. The board is a Gigabyte X79S-UD5-WiFi. Any tips or help would be appreciated! - Matt UPDATE: I got the motherboard replaced. Ive still got the exact same issue.
  15. Huh, so apparently the memory modules were in the wrong slots. This is why you shouldn't let relatives help you. thanks for the help!
  16. It does not, it doesn't have a speaker to make noises even if it wants to. Hm, I'll try some different memory modules.
  17. Indeed it does. The monitor is also working as is the input I'm using.
  18. First off, specs: Intel 3930k Gigabyte X79S-UP5-WIFI Motherboard Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866Mhz 32GB XFX ProEdition 1000W PSU GTX 780 The machine is built and everything turns on when the power switch is used (Fans, lights, ram, PSU, etc). However no signal is passed out of the graphics card. I did some digging and found out that the X79S-UP5 has a issue with Titan grade GPUs. So I tried booting with a GTX 560 which I know works, along with it's cable. I still got the same black screen. It could be a BIOS issue but I can't seen the screen to update the BIOS (Blind attempts have failed). All power cables and Motherboard cables are correctly connected. The motherboard CPU connectors have also been examined and show no signs of damage. So, what the hell is wrong with it and how can I fix it? - Matt EDIT: The motherboard does not have a integrated video output, so that is not an option.
  19. Damn, oh well. I'll just get the extenders then. Thanks!
  20. I was looking at the Silverstone PP06 cables and was wondering if they'd be compatible with a XFX Pro 1000W. I ask as most sites seem to say they're only compatible with Silverstone PSUs, but surely they're a pretty standardised thing, right? Thanks! - Matt
  21. Oooh, That sample kit looks perfect! Too bad it doesn't include a Green. I'll be getting it anyway. Thanks! :p
  22. I'm currently building a gaming rig and I need a keyboard to go with it, I've been looking at mechanical keyboards and I really like the idea of them but I have no idea which switch is for me. I live in a city where there simply is nowhere to test mechanical keyboards, so I need some advice! Currently and for the past few years I've been using an Apple Keyboard which is a low profile keyboard with scissor switches. I absolutely love it. A nice audible tab that's not too loud which the key is pressed. There's also no actuation middle ground, when you press down with just enough force to actuate the key it goes fully down and actuates and springs back up. No middle ground, no mistyping. What Cherry MX mechanical keyboard switch would best emulate that? Thank you! - Matt
