  1. Hi All, Askig around as I need some help figurinng out and troubleshooting some weird wifi/internet drops I’ve been having lately. This happens specifically on my laptop whe I’m connected to a vpn (currently using surfshark) I’ll be all fine for around 10 mins and then everything just drops soon after using the internet. Mostly when watching youtube, but also when just browsing in general. Best case is it’ll reconnect in around few mins and the worse is it’ll drop my wifi all together, like actually disconnect, so when I disconnect from surfshark everything works normally. It seems to happen a lot more when I'm running on battery, and a lot less consistent when on a charger. This behaviour started a few days ago when we had a power outage, and back then once power was out I turned off my device and waited for power to come back on before rebooting anything. Weird thing is before this time everything worked fine. Because this sounds, and probably is, super niche situation I was wandering if there’s anyone on here that could help me out.
  2. Thanks, yea that was the part that I was concerned about. I know the 5900HS and HX doesn't have that much difference spec wise, I think it's just OC profile that might differ, so worried it might bake my APU or something. As long I can confirm they share the same driver I feel more assured to use that option; and it seems like with the 2 comments here it is.
  3. I've been updating my laptop's Drivers (ASUS Flow x13) with AMD's auto-detect hardware thing, but when I visited AMD's driver download/support site that option now seem to be missing? My laptop is using a 5900HS and I can't even search it up on their product lists. I've done some quick searching and heard that the 5900HX should work, but I wanted to double check if there's anything official from AMD about the auto-detect update, before committing to anything; and if anyone knew anything around this? I could probably just wait, since I don't have any issues with my laptop, but just wanted to keep things fresh and up-to-date that's all. Thanks for any help in advance
  4. Mobo: ROG STRIX B450-I GAMING CPU: Ryzen 2700x RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 GPU: 6700x Sapphire Pulse. I'm currently getting a beep code of no RAM (from the looks of the manual) once, and then I do see the RAM light up but no POST. What's more perplexing is the system was running fine. I did unplugg/replug everything because I was rearranging my desk but before that everything was working... And I'm just so confused what in the world is going on. I tried reseating all my components, and did a CMOS clear but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated Edit: Sorry, I tried to seat 1 RAMs at a time to see what happens, and it seems like 1 of the RAM sticks died, as it can boot with 1 specific RAM. Sorry for posting before checking that
  5. Does anyone know how different the pcb layout for the Pulse is compared to the 6700xt's reference board, as I'm planning to do a custom water loop on my pc in the near/mid future. Currently it seems like Bykski, Alphacool, and EKWB (soon) have a block, where: Bykski support the Sapphire Pulse/Nitro+, and reference. Alphacool only support Sapphire Nitro+, and reference; but not the pulse. EKWB's only for reference card. Steve (Gamer's Nexus) did teardown a Nitro+ and said basically it's the same as a reference board, and I also heard/read/remember from some where that the Pulse and Nitro+ were only different in the cooler, and have the same pcb; but I may be imaging stuff. Since I have a preference of EKWB > Alphacool > Bykski (due to my familiarity with the brands) rather than rolling the dice on compatibility, when I do pull the trigger, I wanted to get some research done before hand.
  6. I'm trying to share my KBM through my monitor without buying a huge/janky KVM switch since my monitor (Asus PG279QZ) has a USB hub inbuilt but the only problem being there's only 1 port for an uplink. Since there's already a port I thought if I can somehow manage to split my USB 3.0 cable I won't need to unplug/replug each time I use a different device. I've seen this in amazon which I think is what I need, but there are some reviews around how it shares power through 1 device etc and can potentially damage either machine that's plugged in. Does anyone either, have used this device and know if it's safe or not, OR Know a different alternative that I can use for my situation?
  7. So have a weird problem going on right now, and was wandering if some one could help me out with some Qs. Try to keep it short, I was able to overclock my 6700xt with various changes to my min/max clocks, undervolting, vram timing (fast mode) and clock speed to a state where I thought it was stable, as it ran for a few weeks playing games (Genshin, Wildlands, the Long Dark) without any issues. Today I, for some dumb reason, went into the AMD Radeon S/W and decided what else I can tinker around and changed 2 settings: Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) Radeon Boost (RB) I have no idea y I turned VSR on, since I always usually have those kind of "super/over scaling resolution" stuff off, whether nvidia or amd, but I think my mind just auto-piloted to a "super" setting late at night. As for RB I did wanted to give it a try, since I did want better frame rate/smoothness in Wildlands. I load up Wildlands and lo-and behold. HARD CRASH (I needed to restart the pc) I tinkered around with my overclock setting for two, or three trys and decided things weren't worth, and I was pretty scared at this point, so turned both VSR, and RB off and went back to my original OC setting, and went to load Wildlands and well... another crash. I even change my setting to a minimalistic OC setting, where I only changed a few settings (clock setting+undervolt+Vram Fast Timing) but even that crashed. For now I reverted into only having the Power Limit setting to max, and left everything be "stock" since I am scared to touch anything, but I'm now getting some micro stutters even in a game like Genshin, which isn't that hard to run. Have I some how managed to 'damage' my card during this fiasco, or would it be more of stressing my GPU too much so it's acting weird? Would I be able to re-use my old OC setting where everything was seemingly stable before my whole VSR/RB change fiasco, or would I need to re-overclock and try new settings? Can I, and is it, even safe to try and re-attempt to over clock at all now? Right now, it's late for me (past 11.30pm in NZ), so if there's any other details you guys might need to help me out I'll answer them in the morning.
  8. Haha no worries The BIOS is at the most updated version, and I've made sure to both reset and clear CMOS when changing my memories. It does seem like going down my list of "to-do checks" and the input from everyone on the forum it's most likely to be a faulty mobo potentially Thanks for the help
  9. Sorry I didn't mean I ran all 4 of them at once, but the 2 kits in sets. So HX426C16FB2K2/16 kit at one point and then remove and replace with HX430C15FB3AK2/16 kit. I'm at no point mixing the 2 kits to run a 32GB.
  10. Need help from anyone who owns an AORUS Pro x570 itx board. I'm eyeing the Aorus Pro x570 ITX board as it supported both my CPU and my RAM was on the QVL, but I noticed that SYSFAN_2 header socket is inverted and is a dedicate header for the m.2 slot... I find this super stupid, as it means there's only technically 2 fan headers available. Is there a cable included to be able to use that header like a normal fan header? Or is the only option to pretty much cut off the plastic guard? I'm in need of upgrading my motherboard, due to potentially my one being bogus and I'll just upgrade it whilst I'm at it rather than fighting with my half capable retailer. (Story is here if you're interested) I was checkign out the x570 lines as they do support 2700x and in the future I'll be able to upgrade my CPU into 5000 series at least, and hopefully 6000. Also, how important is the RAM QVL list in terms of support? As per acryonm the QVL is Qualified Vender List, so it's tested by the makers that the parts work 100% I know that, but If I get a mobo that doesn't have my RAM in the QVL how much of a gamble is it in terms of support; again the link in the above sentence might give some context in terms of why I'm asking this. If the SYSFAN_2 is not available for normal header use then I might as well just get a ASUS Strix board.
  11. Hi Guys, I've had a Mobo that seems to have issues with running my RAM as a dual channel, since it won't post if I insert my RAM sticks in either the configuration of 1/3 or 2/4. I have a hunch that it's the motherboard, but I wanted to double check with the community if there's anything else I can check. As if it's the mobo I'll probably just upgrade to a new motherboard at this point... Here is my components: Ryzen 2700x/1700x 2 sets of HyperX Fury 2x8GB (HX426C16FB2K2/16 and HX430C15FB3AK2/16) Asus PRIME-B450M-A Asus 980 Strix When I insert my RAM into slots 2/4 or 1/3 to run it as a dual channel I get beep codes that are as per below from ASUS's website I did the follow test/checks: Insert 1 RAM stick each - They all worked Insert 1 RAM slot each - They all worked Try slots 1/2 or 3/4 - This worked Get a new CPU from 1700x to 2700x - I sent my CPU back to my local retailer said, and they said nothing was wrong with the CPU. However, they were nice enough to give me an upgrade just in case; since 1700x weren't available for replacement and my unit was an open box unit too! Get a new RAM - hence the 2 different sets of HX426C16FB2K2/16 and HX430C15FB3AK2/16 and yes they've all been tested individually. Send Mobo to retailer- Apparently, they said there was no problem and I got my mobo back, but I have a hunch what they did was some how roll back the BIOS to a setting that allowed to POST with the 2/4 or 1/3 configuration and called it a day. Since when I went into Windows it'd say 8GB or some ludicrous amount as "hardware reserved" (note this retailer is a different one from my CPU retailer) Try a new cooler just in case for mounting pressure issues, from a cooler master AIO to a Wraith RGB Loosen the mounting bracket's just a tiny whiny bit so I'm not apply too much pressure. From the all things I've done I can't think of anything but the mobo being faulty at this point, and would you guys agree? Back when I sent my mobo for warranty I did check to see if there was physical damage and I didn't see any back then. One thing for sure is I won't purchase any significant parts from the retailer I got the mobo from, I had a hard time with my 980 as well from that place back in the past due to coil whine... All of their EVGA 980 had coil whine.... I went through like 2, 3 EVGA cards and just got frustrated so asked for a different manufacturer hence the Strix card. And yes the Strix model didn't have any coil whine.
  12. I'm trying to find one in trade me, NZ's equivalent of ebay, but it's really difficult to find. Also I'm kinda skeptical about the used market for 10series due to the mining boom that happened around then.
  13. Hey fam, I'm wanting to upgrade my GPU this year, hopefully, as I upgraded my monitor last year, to a 1440p one, and the 980 is kinda showing its age. I'm wanting to be able to play a "high" setting on most of the games at 1440p and be able to get around 60+ frames comfortably. It'll be perfect if 100+ frames, but I think for that I probably need to dish out at least a 2070, and that's a bit over budget for me. Unfortunately AMD cards are not an option since I'd like to use my g-sync 2060 Super is probably the best candidate, but I'm not too sure if I do need to dish out all that money, or buy either a 1660 Ti or 2060 and get away with it. Let me know what could be my best option?
  14. Nope u should be totally fine if u use the key-cap remover
