  1. Every video after a restart is now zoomed in. I'm honestly panicking and Google isn't giving me any good results. This is on a brand new PC. Had to install this to play Control And also had a windows update. After a restart all of my youtube videos now have this. Nothing i do fixes it. Things are on normal 100% zoom. I don't know what to do and i'm kinda freaking out about it. Hope someone here can help me.
  2. Every time i turn HDR off, it turns itself back on again. Which is pretty damn frustrating since i can't test stuff out this way.
  3. Also another thing i haven't thought of. HDR is on. Should i use HDR? When i turned it off it seemed like my brightness got turned all the way down but it was on 100%. I've heard there aren't any benefits to it especially with HDR 400. So will i only get negatives with it on?
  4. Yea i really don't understand what is happening. If it persists through the weekend and i can't find a fix for it then i'll probably have to return it. Because the blurring is driving me insane. It isn't ghosting. When things move too fast it just... blurs. Words jumble together and become a shape. There is no trailing or anything like that. I honestly don't understand what is happening and thats whats messing me up most. I can fix most things. But when i can't even find a single person on the internet that has the same issue as me. Or none reported, well i have no clue where to even look. I bought a display port 1.4 cable. As sort of a last ditch effort to see if maybe with some miracle that will do something. (it probably wont (it arrives on sunday)) Other than that, this was a monitor that i've wanted for ages. Saved up for, for a long time. So this just makes me sad. Guess i'll have to wait till IPS gets better. And go back to a VA panel monitor. I wouldn't know which one tho. So i'll have to go back into the rabbit hole of looking for a monitor if this doesn't work out.
  5. Running at 160HZ. Which is the overdrive. The ufo looks the same at 144 with overdrive disabled. In the UFO test the UFO just looks blurred. The white dots seem like a line. His eyes too. On my old monitor i could very clearly see the UFO. I could still make out the tiny dots etc. On this one its impossible.
  6. The default is Gamer 1. But it just looks off to me. But also my main issue is the side to side blur. Its incredibly noticable in even movies and youtube. When characters walk from either side to the other. I can't even see their features anymore. They just become a blurry mess. Its actually horrible looking.
  7. Hello everyone, I've had this monitor for... well a few hours now. I've been trying to set up the colours. But its been a pain to be honest. Gamer 1 seems very dark and warm. Gamer 2 seems better, a bit more cool. But it makes colours washed out. Also i used the Display port cable that came with the monitor. But the "displayport version" option in general options is greyed out. So i can't do anything with that. So i can't see if its Displayport 1.4. Everyone says to use gamer 1. But it makes the white of this forum seem almost pinkish in colour. In gamer 2 its more white. But it turns grey/blueish in colour. Adaptive-sync is blurred out. I can't change the black level. I have no clue what settings to use. And there are a lot of settings to go through. This is my first IPS monitor. My monitor before this one was a VA. But that one was dying. And this is also my first ultrawide. If any of you have any info for me. Or know a youtube video, forum post, review. I'd greatly appreciate it.
  8. Yea thats what i'm thinking. I'm worried about the memory tho. (only because other people keep bringing it up and making a huge deal out if it. I myself don't know tbh.)
  9. I will also be getting a new PC case since the airflow in this one is bad. So i'm probably going for a "PHANTEKS Eclipse P500A" because airflow numbers etc seem very good. I'm pretty bad at building my pc, cables wise. And also i don't really know what to do with the fans. But hey i'll figure that out when i get to that point.
  10. I really want to wait, since i know how 2080 owners felt when the "super" versions came out. But since the 3090 seems to on average have between a 10-20% increase. I'm guessing the 3080ti will be 10% at max. Otherwise the 3090 would be obsolete if the TI version of the 3080 can get really close to a 3090. So if i can get a good OC going, i can probably get close to 3080TI specs with the 3080 STRIX. But we obviously don't know that yet. The games i like the most are competative FPS games. So the only reason i don't have a 4k screen is because high refresh rate, low latency 4K monitors are either not here yet. Or the ones that are, are incredibly expensive.
  11. I've already done that a few weeks back, it helped slightly for a bit. And then it went back to just space heater temps.
  12. Hello everyone, as the title says, my current GPU is dying. Artifacting, temps sometimes up to 98 degrees celcius. (Lowering graphics etc doesn't do anything to fix this) And just a bunch of other issues. I have a 1440P 144hz monitor. And an i5 8600K overclocked to 5GHZ. I know i can expect some bottlenecking with my CPU. But i don't have the money to next to a new GPU also get a motherboard and CPU upgrade. Got a 1200W PSU platinum rated. So i'm not worried about that part. I have an "ASUS RTX 3080 ROG-STRIX" on pre-order. According to the lady i had on the phone i'm near the top of the list so i can expect it in october according to her. I'm wondering if i should cancel it and wait for the 3080TI Want to know what you all think about this. Because a lot of people seem to think the 10GB isn't enough. I want to play FPS games at high graphics at high framerates. But also want to max out games like The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2 etc. Hope you all can help me make a decision, thank you.
  13. I have a GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 motherboard. My problem is, like i said the 3080 is already cleaning out my bank account. Thanks to my illness i have to be on gov benefits because nobody in their right minds would pick me over someone healthy. So my funds are very limited. Getting a new mobo and CPU etc would cost way too much. And upgrading from an i5 8600k to an i7 8700k seems like a lateral move. I might upgrade some time down the line. But atm i simply can't afford it. It will take me multiple months to get the money just for a CPU.
  14. Hello everyone, as the title states, i have an i5 8600K overclocked to 4.8. I can probably go higher. But is this enough for a 3080? I currently have a dying 1080TI. And honestly i'd love to have a TI card again. I'm on the pre order list for an MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio. But i'm wondering if i should wait for the TI version. I love playing high fidelity games. But the games i always come back to are FPS games. I have a 1440P 144HZ monitor. Am ofc waiting for Cyberpunk 2077. And some of the other games coming out this year. My 1080 will probably not make it till the end of the year. The normal 3080 is already empthying my bank account. But since i'm chronically ill. Gaming is basically all i do, as sad as that sounds. So the thought of my 1080 self destructing before i get a new GPU is honestly kind of scary to me.
  15. Thank you all so much for the help. Its fixed now. (As far as i can tell) Hope it stays that way. Thanks again!
  16. Hello everyone, i messed up big time i think. And im in full panic mode. I got the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error. And i followed a guide on how to use CMD to get things back up and running. But maybe because im not in control of the router etc. I cant do anything. And it feels like all i did is fck it up more because now i cant connect to anything and im freaking out. Please help. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help me fix this.
  17. Yea i tried the one from the end of september, early october and ofc the latest one with the driver for Blops 4 and none of it made a difference.
  18. Yea i'll probably stop using chrome, but it was also discord that made my GPU go to 100%. Currently on my 980Ti i can look at gifs and videos on discord and it wont go above 20%
  19. Don't know if i can bump this, but i will. I need answers and i really need to know if its my PC thats just messing up these cards or if those cards are just faulty. And i want to know what could cause all of this.
  20. When playing games like Overwatch, Blops 4, Ass creed etc on my 980TI, i usually have stuff running in the background. Like chrome and discord. I can freely alt tab. Right now i'm playing the binding of isaac, talking to someone on discord and typing this to you. And my CPU isn't going above 30% And my GPU when tabbing into chrome doesn't even go up above 20%, even when in chrome and tabbing into discord to look at a gif. But doing any of that on a 2080 for me has been impossible. I reinstalled drivers with DDU. I've done everything with DDU today and when i got the 2080 for the first time. Even doing it in windows safe mode etc. Chrome and discord were taking up all the resources.
  21. Hello peeps, Ok so, i bought the 2080 two weeks ago. When i put it in my pc, installed the new driver and then went to play a game, things went well at first. Then later on i started watching youtube vids on chrome. And then when i alt tabbed to discord, to look at a gif a friend of mine sent me, my entire pc locked up. I looked at taskmanager and both my CPU and GPU went to 100%. Stalling my entire PC. I couldn't be watching youtube and have discord open at the same time. If i had chrome open in the background while also playing a game it would bluescreen my pc. After all of that i sent the card back. Now today after waiting for over a week i finally got a in their words "replacement" But i took a pic of the product number on the card etc. Didn't even need to do that, because everything was the same box, the same fold i accidently made in the little start up book. So i thought, i'll give them a chance. Maybe they actually managed to repair it. So i put it in, started up my pc. Installed the driver. Opened chrome and discord. And INSTANTLY my pc just dies. Just powers down. I try it again, same thing happens. If i have chrome open alone, the whole PC lags, Chrome now takes 100% CPU power and 80-100% GPU power. So i got fcked by the store i bought it from. Going to send it back again now and demanding my money back. BUT, i will still want to buy a 2080, since the price difference between a 2080 and 1080TI over here is like.. 50 euros. The difference between the 1080TI MSI Gaming X card and the 2080 one was 30 euros. And, i want to know whats going wrong here. I want to know why this is happening. Is my PC not equipped to handle a 2080? ( which i sincerely doubt ) Is there something else thats happening? I'd like to know. PSU is 80+ Plat 1200W cooler master. Hope you guys can help me understand.
  22. So i put an old GPU back in and everything seems to be working fine again. I've looked up other instances of people installing new GPU's and then suddenly their CPU going to 100%. Causing tons of lag and crashes. Altho in those forum posts nobody seems to know the answer to it. And all i can seem to find is people answering back on their post. Like what i'm doing now, by saying the problem is resolved by putting my old card back in. So theres a high likelyhood it was a faulty card then? Because right now everything seems to be running fine and smooth. I haven't had any lag issues. I can click on discord, play a gif there, WHILE watching a youtube vid and i don't see my CPU going above 20%. I'm going to send back this card tomorrow. And i don't know if i'll get a 2080, or if i should just ask for some money back and get a 1080 TI. Because this kinda made me scared of the new cards.
