  2. Yes, should be possible. I've got an R9 5900X with DDR4 running at 3600 MT/s, CL16.
  3. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806667511527.html should I buy it? How about this? https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806670993546.html
  4. Do you have Corsair hardware by any chance: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/q2bhx5/event_id_10016distributedcom_causes_pc_to/
  5. where tf do u find a 5600x for 70-90?? on fb marketplace its 120 minimum, same on aliexpress, its like 120 i cant even find a 5600 non X on fb marketplace, on aliexpress its 100 rx 6700xt is minimum 280 dollars used do you have a good recommendation for a cheap but decent 32gb kit that can hit atleast 3200mhz? i barely understand what ur saying about the ram what will i need to change to hit 3200mhz? only dram voltage, timings, and system agent/io voltage? is there something else? also the b550 is 70, its 85 with shipping
  6. Heya, first time on the forums and hoping this is an appropriate place to ask... I'm looking for a TV to be used in the family room to watch shows and movies. It is unlikely any gaming will be done on it. There are a lot of windows in the family room so perhaps brightness would be the primary concern. HDR isn't needed but would be a plus. I don't think I want to go OLED as I don't think people will take care of it (prevent burn in, etc.) I see tons of options online/in stores that are of this size in LED that cost as little as $500-600 (like the Samsung DU7200). Makes me a bit sus, that seems kind of cheap for something this large to be any good? Problem is, I was looking at some that were in the $1000 range, but when I checked online people said they were pretty bad (I think one such example was the Q50 or Q60?). Anyway, would anyone be able to point some out that would be worth looking into or at the very least give me an idea of what sorts of things I should look for that will help me determine if one is good or not?
  7. Weird that the XMP profile is 2 MHz off of DDR4-3600 (1800 MHz). If you have a decent motherboard, DDR4-3600 (or 3596 in your case) should be possible - no need to drop it down to a lower frequency.
  8. Just got my LTT backpack...I LOVE IT!! There is only one problem: I love it too much, and I don't want it to be damaged! At some point, my pencil bag for holding scissors and other supplies has always worn through the pencil bag and started scratching up and drawing all over backpacks. I would love to see the LTT engineering team make a nice, strong, and lasting pencil bag I can use to safeguard my backpack and that can easily fit in the backpack. It would need to hold scissors, multiple highlighters, and pens/pencils. Sorry if this is a bad idea.
  9. I was fortunate to get in my possession 7, 8TB SAS drives that I would like to utilize in a home data storage server project I'm planning. I'm going to use an old dell precision 3630 that i got still new in box plus some minor upgrades for the project and I want to connect 3 of the SAS drives for a raid 1 set up in windows server and keep the other 4 drives as spares. The thing is, with the SAS drives I don't know where i would even start in getting to connect them to an ordinary desktop. I would like to utilize their full duplex ability and rated 12Gb/spec speeds even thought its super overkill. (I mainly want to expose myself to the technology first hand and learn about it more). To my knowledge i would need a PCIe expansion card to do that but will any work? Also how what kind of connector would i use? All I know is I'll need a SFF-8482 connector for the drive end. More insight would be appreciated, I don't mind buying expansion cards or cables. Thank you.
  10. Budget (including currency): US$800 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GIMP, Light adobe suite, Ardour, storage Other details: Hello! I am new to the forum but knew I needed to stop by after the recent LTT video, "He Spent 3 YEARS Begging me for a PC. Good Luck Finding it!" I have been hoping to build a new PC to share with my partner in the Fractal Terra for a while now, and it looks like I finally have got the money together to do it! Linus's build (below) in the case seemed to be pretty good for what I need, other than the price. As I have a restricted budget, I really need to stay around US$800. This is my first PC build for myself, but I have plenty of experience working with servers (ex-IT worker lol) so I'm confident I can build in a mini itx case. My PCs for the last couple years have been random 10 year old thinkpads that I keep limping along, so I've been very limited. My husband even more so - he has an ancient chromebook lol. I need a build that is decent with art software like GIMP and Adobe suite (this is for my husband, who creates digital art), can function as a basic coding workstation (I code in Java, C++, Python, etc - I don't do anything too intensive as I've left the IT world but I would like to be able to mess around), obviously can handle the browsing the internet, can handle a DAW (Ardour), and can function as a 2TB storage stop-gap for my music until I save up to build a NAS. I have a couple 1tb hard drives scattered around, so I don't need any more than 2tb. I game very rarely, and it's always games like Stardew and Minecraft (am a girl lol) so I'm not worried about that. I plan to dual-boot some debian-based distro for my side of the PC, (big fan of antiX for thinkpads, but will find something a bit more solid for the PC) and my husband will likely get a Windows license for his side at some point (therefore that's not part of my budget). I don't plan on buying monitors or other peripherals, already have a decent starter set. Will upgrade them later, and will probably check in again at that point :) If you have a question about 10-year-old tech, I've got you. However, I don't know anything about the current landscape of PC parts. Therefore, I'm a bit lost - I would love help on trimming the cost of Linus's build to maximize savings, while also investing a tiny bit more into storage. And of course, it all has to fit in the Fractal Terra. Approx. of LTT's Build (US$1233.69): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tdTZ7R Thanks all so much for the help, it is so appreciated, sophietlav
  11. Ideally the most advantageous thing to do given the realities of actual driving is variable displacement technology i would think, assuming the technology eventually becomes practical and reliable I drive two dual displacement vehicles a 3.9L V6 than can operate as a 1.95L 3 cylinder and a 6.0L V8 than can operate as a 3.0 4cyl The technology involved in GMs variable displacement tech relies on engines being of a Cam In Block design, which is a type of engine that isn't really utilized anymore. In those designs function depends on completely disabling the valves of the "off" cylinders. Engines that feature dual or single overhead cams don't generally have the space to do this. The other type of variable displacement is a design infiniti has been working on where the connecting rod length is varied. An interesting concept but I'm unsure if this will be ready for prime time. This design can be combined with variable valve profile to significantly reduce the stroke of a engine, live, on a load and rpm and boost basis Just some neat stuff.
  12. my budget cannot go over 500. if i sell the aio, then 550 max my 2060 is a pretty low end model without adjust power, and it cant even overclock to 2060 super levels I rather take a 5600x + 2070 super combo over a 7600x + overclocked 2060 also whats wrong with a 5600x for 130? Nvme drive like 70 dollars max, 500gb is enough for me trust even if am4 is dying, it still support very fast cpus such as 5950x and 5800x3d, which are absolute overkill for me in the next 5-7 years How are you telling me a 2070 super is outdated, then telling me to use a 2060?
  13. In minecraft, my ping will suddenly go from ~50 ms to 500. I've checked my pc antenas and even connected to a 5g 5ghz wifi connection. My ping only has a wet fart after a couple of minutes playing, but whenever i restart the game the ping goes back to normal. My pc shows that my connection has a link speed of 866 mb. This connection problem has happened before. What is the cause for this and how can i fix this?
  14. I'm planning to build a PC with Ryzen 5000 series CPU with a XMP-3596 CL19 RAM. I might go for a Ryzen 5 5600, but would the RAM work with the CPU at its rated speed (or other Ryzen 5000 series CPUs)? If not, can it run at least 3200 CL16? The RAM kit is a 2x16GB TeamGroup Vulcan TUF Gaming Alliance <-- links to TeamGroup's website.
  15. he straight up said fable was no playable. pretty much almost ever game(none live service ones) has exe. and dll mess with(due to forum rules)to play the game with out the drm. if you dig into comments. other people pointing out he was stretching the the point. even people on reddit and other sites chime in and pointed that out.
  16. That's totally fair- I'm afraid we are already too far gone as a society to combat AI. I'd imagine within 5 years most of these AI tools be it image generators, video generators, music, text, and whatever next becomes a big deal all becomes so good and indistinguishable from reality it will be impossible to navigate the digital world without AI help. I guess it really is as a good time as any to go outside and touch grass (and support local music)
  17. I recommend trying taking it back to the default settings in the BIOS. Plug in the 4 pin CPU power connection so it gets the full 8+4 CPU power. Anything you can think of that might give it a better chance to do a shut down, boot up cycle successfully. After you get it working, you can enable PBO, test it, then enable EXPO, test it, and by taking things slow, you'll know exactly at what point it breaks. Yeah, I think that's the first thing I would do. Try to think of anything I can do to get the system to be closer to its default settings. I looked at Corsair RMX RM850x. Looks like it has enough modular plugs to be able to do the 8+4 CPU power. Please let us know if we're assuming things - we're trying to debug it remotely. I also looked at Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V1 rev 1.5. There's a very useful section on page 19 / 41 of the English manual for the board: If it works the way I think it does, the LEDs turn off in a set sequence. That is showing you where the UEFI BIOS got to in the AGESA memory training, PCI link and video bringup. (Once video is up you can get more details by seeing things on the screen.) And it sounds like your board doesn't complete that sequence after a power-off... After you've plugged in a 4pin and reset the BIOS to defaults, try booting and then shutting down to get to the problem. If none of those status LEDs are even lit, then the UEFI BIOS did not even start yet. Otherwise, I'm curious which of those LEDs are still lit.
  18. I find the main issue trying to look over my own shoulder.........
  19. Many thanks guys. Ill go look see what works for me.
  20. Whenever i'm watching video on youtube ( from either edge or chrome ) The video turns very very dark after few seconds , i can see the video but barely visible. Though sound is completely ok. If I swap tab and get back again to youtube tab the issue gets fixed but reappears after few second again. I used ddu and completely fresh reinstall my gpu driver but still same issue. Plz help.

  22. I have been having some trouble figuring this issue out. Whenever I open discord, the loading screen pops up, and it freezes and automatically closes. Using event viewer, I have narrowed the issue to runtime broker, except every fix that I have found recommended online did not fix the issue. Other recommendations include things to be done inside discord itself, except I cannot do them because discord won't open. I followed a guide to change the activation permissions for runtime broker, except I cannot change those settings, because they are greyed out. In addition to what I have mentioned above, I have also done all general troubleshooting steps, both for the program and windows a whole. This is the only app that I have any trouble with. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate the advice.

    Talk about harassment. Jeez.

I deleted most of the new ones, it sends one every hour
  24. Unless this is also your personal PC. I would just look into getting just about any server OS. Unraid, TrueNAS, etc. There's a docker container for just about every game server you can think of. Plus setting up a NAS is basically built in. Also the ability to bin cores per container. It is possible to do all that in Windows but it's far less efficient and binning cores isn't exactly straight forward.
