  1. Past hour
  2. Id argue that one feeds a decent bit of air to the GPU and so would be beneficial to keep there
  3. Nah its fine, i have 7 intake and 2 exhaust, and thats a bit (read; WAY) too much but its still fine, it just means i have really strong positive pressure, so air flies out wherever it can find and i can run my front fans much slower, so lower noise
  4. I used that pump for 1-2 years without any color additive etc. So it had some roughness and then I polished it and maybe it works maybe it doesn't, I think it will take a year to know that
  5. Also if you have faulty display cable it's known to caue flicker or outright driver crashing with 5000 series RDNA cards.
  6. That should be fine. So long as warranty hasn't expired.
  7. Maybe. Depends. You can ask them before sending. Also make sure your issue isn't driver related. Check in bios if you got fast boot turned on or off. After, check in windows if its set the same. If it's not the same it will crash your driver. Also make sure CSM is disabled. If you still got issues, download DDU: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/Download-Display-Driver-Uninstaller-DDU-18076 Run DDU in safe mode, will prompt at launch of DDU. After rebooting into safe mode, go to options in DDU and set "prevent windows update from installing drivers". Choose clean and don't restart for AMD drivers. Then after DDU is finished run again with Nvidia. Run clean and shutdown for installing new GPU. Turn off PSU and install 7900 XTX again.
  8. Realistically, Everything that is a big loss tends to be either a) bleeding edge (never buy high end parts like i9's or xx90 GPU's upon release), I've bought one xx90, and only when it was half the price it was a few weeks earlier. I refuse to buy the i9's because they essentially need liquid coolers. Don't liquid cool unless you are going all-out on high end parts. b) obscure (one of the reasons why I won't buy a VR HMD, they all universally suck at present, and will continue to do so because people just don't want VR until there is a must-have app, and all we keep getting are less capable ugly re-inventions of second life. I basically noped the hell out of VR. c) not capable of what's advertised. PDA's, I swear Microsoft abandoned this market instead of transforming it into a smartphone and basically ceded the entire smartphone development to Apple. I had three. I've less smart phones, primarily because of this burn and why I won't touch Android. Give me something that lasts 7 years, or I'll just hypermile whatever I use. So in terms of "lost money" every single laptop. Do not buy laptops if you want to play games. Do not buy laptops if you need a "Desktop replacement" they universally suck and are getting worse in every way. If you need a laptop for portability reasons that is one thing, but at home, and at work you should have a desktop tower, or even a SFF rather than a laptop. Why are laptops terrible: a) laptops used as desktop replacements last 18 months b) ultrabook designs have exceptionally low life spans, and are noisy as hell. c) They are typically twice as expensive as a desktop for the same performance. An overengineered desktop will last you 10 years if you want it to. A laptop's life is dictated by it's battery and it's cooling fans. Until we get to a point where batteries can be removed ad-hoc and the laptop remains usable off a USB-C power source/docking station, laptops are poor investments.
  9. Try to ask how long has the AIO been used AIO part degraded over time, especially the pump and unless you have specific technical skill to tear down the pump, most people would just replace the whole AIO Most AIO has 5-7 years of warranty, so with the price on eBay that is half of MSRP, I would hope that the user hasn't use the AIO for more than 2 years NZXT product performs good, but not great, especially with the premium price tag but pale in comparison to most other brand. The positive side of NZXT kraken, it surely does looks really aesthetic when paired with NZXT case to keep it on the same ecosystem
  10. If using a CPU air cooler, then just take the lowest front fan and place in the back. Remember more fans = more noise. Also more exhaust than intake = more dust.

    HDR400 vs HDR10

I will have to give it another shot. The desktop always grays out for me in HDR mode but maybe I’m not remembering right. I just got the C3 like a month ago and tested it briefly. The washed out look is what I normally remember from all times I’ve tried it.
  13. I've been having a problem with my Sapphire 7900xtx Nitro. It just stopped displaying any signal about 5 minutes after being booted up. I was just chilling in discord and my screen when black . Card worked perfectly fine for 7 months without a single issue. I've tried all sorts of stuff and I cannot seem to make it display a thing. I even went out and bought a new Mobo / PSU / Ram / CPU. Reformatted , Clean install of windows. No overclocks. Never have. Cleared CMOS . My old 1070TI Works no problem. Using that one right now. My specs are currently . AMD Ryzen 7800X3D Corsair 32gig DDR 6000hz CL 30 MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk Corsair RM1000x Shift Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD's NVMe 2TB I am wanting to RMA my card but the RMA process says my warranty wont be deemed good if Returned GPU is found to have cosmetic damages with obvious scratches . I have a few scratches due to having a case that barley fit the card for a few months before I was able to upgrade to a bigger one. The scratches should have nothing to do with the performance of the card. Will these scratches screw my RMA over for a 1500$ card? I'm located in Canada if that matters at all.

    HDR400 vs HDR10

I mean HDR10 doesn’t talk about brightness. I think you be fine with nearly any modern monitor in a dark environment. HDR10 just means it supports HDR signal.
  15. Is 3 intake and 1 exhaust enough exhaust or is there too much intake vs exhaust? That’s why I was thinking 2 might be needed but I’m not well versed on the subject.
  16. I wouldn't personally upgrade if my PC was those specs. I would use it for quite a few more years first.
  17. Best would be rear exhaust first and foremost, then if he wants to add a top exhaust he can too
  18. Upgrading my son to the 4000D RGB Airflow. It comes with the 3-120mm fans shown here (AF120 RGB Elite I believe). I feel like we need to add at least 1-2 more as 2 intake and 1 exhaust doesn’t seem like enough. My thought was the 3 intake where they are here then 1-2 for exhaust. Either both at the top or 1 on top and 1 at rear. Fans are $25/ea. He’s running a Ryzen 5 5600X with a 6700XT with a MSI Gaming Plus Max B550 motherboard. Adding an M.2 with his existing SSD and HDD (HDD which will be in the basement with the PSU hence why I like the idea of that bottom fan at the front since it mainly points into the basement. Thoughts on number of fans or any push/pull config setups for those using this case?

    HDR400 vs HDR10

So I would be just fine with HDR10? As my room is quite a dark and dim room and not gonna need that much brightness. I think I can get away with just HDR10 right? Thanks btw!!

  21. excellent which region/city/town and I'll trawl eBay/GumTree and see if I can find anything that stands out? For example, this one!

    Microsoft AI Explorer https://www.techradar.com…

I don't worry, because I'm somehow sure it will. At the very least "run well only on the newest of the newest"
  23. I don't think you'll need a cloud gateway tbh. Why not just get a ER-X or something like that?
  24. Same here, I get builder's anxiety each time but I think I have enough experience to avoid catastrophe. As for Newegg tbh even if I get 0 refund I can survive that. The graphics card and CPU are the big returns. An aside: friend suspects the motherboard may have fried the CPU because it started fine out of the box, and reports came out that MSI X670E Tomahawks were frying CPUs with high voltage. Not sure I believe it since there were no burns or bulges on the contacts but I resigned the thing wasn't going to work. Fwiw the new power supply is here now and I have no arcing noise.
  25. Is your LG a PC Monitor or at TV? I have 3 PCs in my house hooked up to LG TVs (65" C6V - 65" CX - 42" C2) and HDR works flawlessly. Windows desktop looks like a Windows desktop (albeit a bit brighter). Click HDR mode using the Philips screen and everything goes dark, grey and washed out.
  26. Hopefully your replacements work like they are supposed to. It's been a while since I've had issues with building a PC. The only company I would worry about is Newegg. There was a lot of controversial information brought to life by GN about their return processes. They were supposed to improve but I suspect it's been somewhat questionable still.
