Fair point, I didn't see that. Sorry
  5. I figured I'd just pop this question in the forum rather than looking through articles. Articles aren't giving datasheets to back-up their opinions and articles are often bought and paid for. I'd believe it from GamersNexus or something like that, but I know big places like TomsHardware are just paid reviews nowadays. So, I'm looking for the best performing AIO I can find. Size and noise level being no factor (well, 360mm being the limit because my case literally can't fit anything bigger... is there anything bigger than 360mm in the mainstream?). This is because very soon I plan on going all-out and finally delidding my 8700k and apply either kryonaut or conductonaut (still kinda on the fence on that one). May as well get an overkill cooler as well I figure. Noise level isn't really a consideration. I wear headphones all the time and I'm used to noisiness anyway as I do encode jobs and other CPU-intensive stuff all the time. So at this point I'm rather desensitised to fan noise. Thanks.
  6. @paddy-stone Was just about to take it apart to get a better if something blew on it and noticed one of the fan power connector cables was hitting the blade. Potentially had one fan not running which would surely fit this issue. Never really checked the fans with them being under the GPU out of sight line and not thinking twice about it. I have CAM software running all the time though so I should have got a temp warning from it and i haven't touched the GPU in months before this so not really sure if it was an issue. Already posted on Graphics Cards, they actually referred me here to ask about putting the card in a friends rig. Definitely at that stage where I'm gonna work on another rig to have around for these situations. Relatively new to PC gaming and building in general but I love it! Thanks again for the help!
  7. Okay. It is an optiplex 3010, Core i5 3470, 4GB 1600mhz ram. No gpu. I reset the bios because there is a bios password I was trying to reset.

    Dual Boot vs VM

definetly dual boot, because then you can get the most performance out of linux/windows since is is a bit difficult and unstable when forwarding pci devices to a vm

    Motherboard PCIe problems w/ ssd

But it says on the slot pysically written that it's a PCIe 3.0?
  10. Should i buy Radeon RX 570 now, or should i wait until GTX 1660 gets a little bit cheaper or Navi GPU to be released? I've heard that Bitcoin prices is going up again

    Sata III to sata II

So as the title imples if I put a sata 3 ssd into a sata 2 port can I expect 3Gbps if that is the only bottleneck? my Dell servers are only sata II and I am putting an ssd into the DVD drive bays for a cache drive and there are optional sata II ports on both servers that I can utilize outside of the sas connections for the backplane

The Cooler Master V1200 Platinum and Cooler Master V1200 Titanium are in the same god damn tier. How the hell is that going to help them at all? This isn't just directed at you, but people if you have nothing to add other than "Check the PSU tier list" then don't bother posting. What are your system specs? Those PSUs are expensive, and unless you're running multiple Radeon VIIs with a Threadripper 2990WX you probably don't need a 1200W PSU.

    Browser with best battery life?

The integrated adblocker only replaces one extension, but even then: The adblocking is not adequate, for example it doesn't even block ads that disguise as normal posts. And this is the most control you can get with it (you can block specific elements thru right click but that's it, no way to add regional blocklists either, or to create exceptions): So you might as well just install uBlock Origin anyway.

Anyone here in the Skilled Trades?

open plan offices are sweat shops. I have seen some really hot and disgusting ones. Also they never put in a big enough fresh air fan. When i worked in air conditioning I visited almost every building in town. The lack of fresh air is something i cant stand. I have walked into offices and been blown away by how hot and stuffy the air is. Also in these places the workers often look like zombies. Not healthy at all.

    Motherboard PCIe problems w/ ssd

Your M.2 slot only supports PCIe Gen 2 with 4 lanes, which is equivalent to PCIe Gen 3 with 2 lanes. Get a (not trash) PCIe to M.2 NVMe adapter, plug it into a PCIe Gen 3 (3.0) slot, install the M.2 SSD ofc and you're done.

    Browser with best battery life?

It's not that good, far from it, but it's the easiest way to have everything. That gmail was actually part of another sentence that was leftover so you can ignore that. MY point is that you can have literally everything, on all platforms, with only 1 account. Most people don't care and don't need more than that. For most people you can't beat simplicity.

    Dual Boot vs VM

Dual boot. VM is too restricted and the response is slow even on 8G RAM PC.
  19. resetting the BIOS doesn't wipe the BIOS, it clears the settings from CMOS is all, so back to default board options. You don't need to re-flash it. If it's not displaying to the monitor that's a different problem. Could be many things, but some background info might help here, like what was the problem that made you reset the CMOS? FULL system spec, and anything else that could be relevant.. the more info you give the easier it might be to tell you what the problem is.

    What CPU for gaming??

get r5 2600/2600x/i5 9400f, they are good enough for a 1060 6gb. 2600x and 9400f are more or less on par in gaming performance and 2600 is cheaper. as for case, fractal design meshify c is really good for good airflow.
  22. Its just what the title says. Does the h700 support push/pull fan arrangement on the top?

    Optane+SSD: Intel H10

It's logically Optane + QLC SSD on one physical package but visible separately to the OS. If you want to use Optane as cache, you need the software to enable it. This isn't Optane persistent memory though, which is the one intended as a cheaper alternative to ram in server use. The product here is for end user devices.

FSP RAIDER II 750W 80+ Silver

Yep, so I bought the Seasonic 650w 60+ gold, modular. The fsp one was stupid idea, as you said...
  25. So I reecently purchased a "Samsung 970 EVO Plus Series - 500GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD". And I knew I had a pcie 3.0 x4 slot for this, right next to my ram. And so after installation I ran Samsung Magician and it's saying it's running on PCIe Gen 2x4, and my speeds are not what they should be. I also ran hwinfo, to make sure my motherboard supports 3.0 and it does. The bandwith is also not being taken up by a wireless card, tried taking that out too. I also tried using my bios to change this, but my bios doesn't have a lot of options to be changed, since my pc is a prebuilt dell, with a basic dell motherboard. I've been trying to solve this for 5 hours, looking up different solutions and most don't even apply to me, since my bios is so shit. Thanks for your time.
