  2. I did the testing with Asus' overclocking software, once I found stability I put it in the bios and it runs 4.55 and sometimes over under load but sits around 3 or lower when idle. I got 4 sticks of 16gb, 2 sets of this: CMK32GX4M2D3600C18
  3. You should be fine, as long as you're not viciously overclocking the thing Yes, you can find your sweet spot between noise and thermals
  4. I don't see an issue with this, just another incentive for buying the subscription. Not missing out on much
  5. Gpu speed is on a curve overclock with nvidias overclocking software. The memory on it is also boosted by 200mhz. I could try and find a stable higher clock myself if that would be better? But I've checked hwinfo and all the temps are staying around the 50-60 range under testing loads, rarely go above 60. I go through with ccleaner often to remove any unwanted rubbish.
  6. Moderately high=1200 rpm? You're joking, or you're sensitive to sound, right?
  7. I I've a 65" OLED Philips Ambilight TV with a sound bar since a couple years now, it's really good and at this price range
  8. Open box but never used, you run the risk of missing parts. Used carries a lot more risk so no, don't.
  9. Is this a manual setting/limit? Have you tried PBO? 2 or 4 sticks? Are you PCIe lane limiting your 4060 with all the M.2s?
  10. My main question is - will I have any issues with air-cooling only? I would prefer not to have to bother with water-cooling and I remember Linus saying in a recent video that nowadays a good air-cooler will perform as well as an AIO, and I went with the Noctua NH-U12A so I hope this will work. Another question I had is, since I want to keep the computer (relatively) quiet I bought 4-pin PWM fans which can be tuned - will that help me?
  11. Hi everyone, last night I ordered this parts list and I wanted to know whether I have missed anything I will need or if I've made a big error in any of the parts compatibility. My original budget was £1600 and in the end I decided to go over that and get the 13900K for future-proofing and because my wife was egging me on (this PC is basically a gift from her). The main use of the PC would be: video editing with Davinci Resolve (this is why I didn't go with AMD because I have read several sources mentioning that AMD has issues with DR 18) - planning to get an Asus ProArt 32" 4K mini OLED IPS monitor for this messing around with open-source AI models like Llama3 and StableDiffusion video-gaming (4k monitor) - I'm not a serious gamer but I do have the new Tomb Raider games as well as Jedi Fallen Order I'm just wondering whether my build is a good fit for my use case above. I'd rather not return anything now but this is my first time building my own PC. Thanks for any feedback! NB: the original PSU I was going to order was the Gigabyte P750GM but it turned out to be out of stock, but the seller had the Gigabyte UD750GM on sale for the same price (£79.99) so I bought that instead and updated my parts list

  13. Thanks for your response. I had to disable CSM to install Windows 11. It is currently in UEFI only. I need to re-enable it?
  14. Thanks yall for the help so far i'm gonna deside between the HD560s or the AKG K371. I'll probably need a DAC/AMP for them later down the roade but yea don't wanna deal with that yet tbh. I don't have enough money right now to buy a good one anyways so yea. Thanks yall.
  15. Actually remember another time got bent over. Again around 2009 time first time building a full new build PC brought 2 5790 Radeon Black cards think was £600 each and ran in Crossfire. the amount of issues with that crap was insane terrible drivers needed to use ports in specific order to even boot. Within a year sold em at a loss of maybe £400 loss on each of them. Got a GTX680 instead works to this day. Never going team red again for GPU
  16. Their step up (upgrade) program was also very nice, I don't know of any other that had that.
  17. That open frame case at 2:20 looks similar to the XTIA Xproto, aside from a different foot cutout shape.
  18. in that case the asus one is better
  19. You either have CSM disabled or there is a PSU issue, is what I would think. Or maybe both.
  20. elfensky

progress on the server rack. Bottom is getting…

I wanted to buy a Synology 1221+ and put those samsung EVO 8TB ssds in it, but with the current SSD shortage imma have to wait for a while, shit's too expensive
  21. Windows 10 or 11? It's pretty well documented that hdr in win10 is broken.
  22. I agree with this - and if someone still wants to try and game in Linux, I support that, too - BUT!!!! - I would still dual boot like you suggest - especially, noobs. Let's face it, the majority of games are produced with Windows in mind and they're most tested with Windows in mind. There's a few websites out there that has 'rated' the game for use on Linux - some gaming developers and companies have actively 'sabotaged' their game or made it difficult to use with Linux. Or in other words, optimized it for Windows and consider Linux an afterthought - so, ppl should know that if trying to use their Linux OS for their gaming needs. I think you can use almost any Linux distro for gaming but if you use an OS with older software and software versions - e.g. Mint, you can anticipate some frustration and headaches. However, you can probably update your system so that you can run the games. For instance, you can take a Debian system and update/upgrade it so it uses newer software versions - you can take Debian stable and upgrade it to Testing or sid. However, in saying that, it's probably easier to use a rolling release distro and already have most of the software relatively up-to-date - examples: OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, Fedora (technically, not rolling release but still pretty recent), Arch - I'd try one of those before going into the more obscure and less common distros.
  23. Today
  24. Is it really that worth it? Cheapest 6000mhz cl30 is 40 bucks more
  25. Hello My build is about 2 weeks old now. I had windows 10 on my old computers SATA SSD so I decided to keep it as a boot drive and use my 1TB M.2 for game storage. Anyways, ran great and had a blast on Helldivers 2 Last night I installed windows 11 and played helldivers but experienced some issues with Adrenaline app freezing in the background. This issue seems to be widely reported but didn't occur on Windows 10. Tonight while playing, my computer black screened and attempted to restart itself. While attempting, the white VGA LED came on. Needless to say, it didn't complete the boot process. It was completely unresponsive to anything other than holding the power button down to shut it off. After powering back on, it boots to Windows without issue. This happened 3 more times. Each time I tried something different to remedy it. First, I removed the overclock/undervolt tuning I had on Adrenaline. Second, I performed a clean install of the Adrenaline software. Lastly I flashed the BIOS to the most recent version. All resulting in this black screen issue. Each restart seemed to happen quicker than the last. I've been monitoring my Temps on my second monitor. My cpu was 70C and my GPU was at 75C give or take. Well within acceptable ranges while under load. All windows updates are done. Drivers are up to date. BIOS is flashed with no CPU overclock but SMART is enabled Any idea what's causing this? Any definitive ways to diagnose? Faulty PSU, GPU or RAM? I still have time to return parts.
