  1. Past hour
  2. Hello! It's my first post on this forum, so I'd like to say 'good day' to you all:) I'm writing with info that might interest most of you, albeit those of you, who are familiar with and used mods in the past, I think, will be most glad about this: CDPR released an official mod kit for Witcher 3. What does that mean? That means, in the future, Witcher 3 has much bigger modding possibilities: new quests, new DLCs, small and big, I'd go as far as to say: new territories (similar to the DLC: Blood and Wine). And I'm pretty hyped up about it! Just think Skyrim possibilities in Witcher 3. Because of the fact Witcher 3 and CP2077 are made from the same or similar engines (not sure), I'd say it is maybe not probable, because there is nothing official for Cyberpunk 2077 as of right now, but something to think about...?
  3. yeah there's tons of shops with free shipping, why is op looking for cheap shipping, free is better than cheap pretty sure they do ship to eu yes
  4. I was mainly asking for opinion, id need people to sign consent forms and take part in a short participation form for me to actually use any of it. Thought it would be an interesting point of discussion regardless

    Talk about harassment. Jeez.

My workplace's PC also suffers from the same problem after we moved offices, except it happens every 5 minutes.
  6. i got to give that old psu to my friend now, so i really need a new psu, please suggest.
  7. that's two countries... also tough luck, mindfactory has free shipping if you order overnight and to Germany (hence tough luck) otherwise Amazon (prime)
  8. Hey guys, glad this got some interest. You don't need to, but if anyones willing to give any opinion whilst taking part in the research for my dissertation, could you sign this consent form and ill be able to email you the actual participation document Should take 10-15 minutes maximum. 5 if you're really mad about the issue figured a bigger opinion pool would be really helpful. All data gathered will be completely anonymous when utilised in the paper. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfBU1PXR5R1v5Gnx31togg7LadYhkoBeSpSBSOfljiG_DAPyw/viewform?usp=sf_link
  9. I am now on my second 14900ks and it seems that it is unstable even at Intel recommended settings. The issue seems to be that the p-cores fail when both hyperthreads on the same p-core are pushed to high clock speeds. This seems to happen with integer workloads particularly when compiling code, or sometimes when uncompressing files. With a multi-core load the power limits prevent the p-cores boosting high enough to experience the problem, for example testing with Cinebench on single core does not trigger the problem (because you need two threads on the same p-core) and multi-core does not trigger the problem because of the power limits. Also it is not clear that Cinebench creates the right kind of load on the CPU. It seems that just setting the power limits to 253W as Intel recommend is not enough to fix this CPU. What I want to know is does this problem affect all 14900ks (maybe even 14900k etc...)? The test I am using, is under Gentoo Linux, compling gcc with the command: MAKEOPTS="-j3" taskset -c 8-9 emerge -1 gcc where the vCPU selected in the taskset are both on the same 'preferred' p-core, that is one that can boost to 6.2GHz. So far this test reliably fails within a few seconds on both of the 14900ks I have tested. It is harder to recreate this test under windows because Thread Director tries to load only one hyper-thread onto each p-core before using the second hyper-thread, by which time time package power limits will be limiting the max boost of the p-cores. You may be able to trigger the fault under Windows by setting off a large compile or decompression with CPU affinity set to both hyper-threads in the same preferred p-core. I would appreciate if anyone with a 14900ks (or k) could try and replicate this result. I would also be interested in whether this affects other 14th gen CPUs.
  10. I may not be too smart but I'm getting mixed messages. Is my battery full, like the percentage says, or is it not, like the icon suggests? I guess we'll never know.

AITA... So I have this pet peeve.. If you're go…

Yeah it's stupid. My grandpa ordered two entire tractor rims for an old ford 3000 tractor. They never told him that they needed a signature, so he had them delivered to his house and left for vacation for 2 weeks. He figured they'd just drop them off, and someone could swing by and put them in the garage. Apparently, it needed a signature, and he had quite a few "we're sorry we missed you we need a signature for your delivery" door hangers on his door when he got back. They ended up returning the wheels back to the place he bought them from, since they couldn't get a signature from anyone after trying to deliver so many times. He had to pay extra for shipping for them when he got back, when he could actually sign. All this could have been avoided had they said something about signatures when he ordered, by shipping them to our house or a neighbors. Why do tractor rims even need signatures? who's stealing this???? IT'S LIKE A 28 INCH STEEL WHEEL
  13. If that's the case, then D-LINK DIR-878 should be the best choice Apart from OpenWRT site that confirms support to the latest 23.05.3 firmware, it has the best acclaimed Wi-Fi speed compared to the other options and safe to say checked all boxes of your requirement Assuming the used market send a working D-LINK DIR-878 with good price, that could be the very best deal of router with a fraction of it's price
  14. My new DP cable just arrived today, it is exactly the same as the last DP cable I bought that I suspected has a live 20th pin causing weird problems with my PC (eg my keyboard lights up even when my PC is off, PC bootlooping). (Here's why having the 20th pin live in a male-to-male cable is a BAD idea: https://www.cablechick.com.au/blog/the-displayport-pin-20-issue-explained/)

I opened the old DP cable, and found out that the 20th pin is in fact not connected and therefore it is indeed VESA compliant as the store page says. But then what caused the weird PC problems back then?? 💀

  15. Usually Windows update picks up drivers it needs. No point messing anything on LCD monitor just get a faster one. For CRT yes very old games look better on it, also motion clarity is better as well vs most LCDs in fast games.
  16. Can depend on the game but just test and see what feela better for you then. Be it using VRR if not huge swings or cap to stable fps.
  17. Ok if it has been stable for several years, maybe try updating chipset drivers, if on X470 Taichi, then: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/chipsets/am4/x470.html If that doesn't work, try disabling or removing HDD.

I'm convinced New Jersey is a cancer now (besid…

That's true, I guess. If it's going to burn oil then it's good to know about it.
  19. Just don't use HDR with HDRn't monitor. Even with proper HDR monitors, like OLED there can be issues, just even having to on/off it fiddle for whatever content or game is annoying and broken at times. Windows looking crap in HDR and different monitor HDR modes needing to test which is better for what content. I feel until everyone starts having OLEDs issues will continue as most are on LCDs and fragmentation between displays capabilities to be taken into accound hence all the adjuatments between modes, sliders nonsense. From content standpoint it will improve as it will be known people have OLEDs and that will be the target. Another is Windows OS chain that will need to improve so basically we don't think is it on/off but just works.
  20. 2700X on an As Rock Taiichi , 32GB of ram, 2080Ti, one HDD and one SSD, (the boot drive). No XPM that irecall though i'd have to double check, systems been built and stable for several years now.
  21. Again, I live in Romania. It's not about defending my country, it's about telling others how it's really like. The only thing that people like you know is that Romania has gypsies, poor people and Andrew Tate. I'm not even surprised this is how you see Romania. Come and visit and you will see for yourself how it's like.
  22. System specs plex. If you got any OC enabled, then disable that. You can also try without XMP enabled
