Retro Water Cooled Gaming PC and a sleeper.

Good timing, I just got my Koolance water block to 115x mount built last night after a few too many days of thinking. Needs some finish work like rounding edges and paint, but it's functional and lets me use the original ratcheting screw to set pressure of the block to IHS. I need to finish gutting the tower so I can clean it out fully and start getting the system re-assembled to swap the board over from the test bench. What I'm missing and need are the 5.25 bay covers for the PC2-601BW and some good non droning 80mm fans.

    Weird RX 580 issue

I have an XFX Rx 580 that is being really weird. Hoped someone might shed some light or think of something I may be forgetting, as I am beating my head against a wall. To start I have tested with 5 systems: Asus Z390-I cpu 9900k EVGA 850PSU Supernova T2 Asus Z270E cpu 8700K EVGA 850PSU Supernova PQ Asus Z170 s cpu 6700k EVGA 850PSU Supernova GQ Msi X58 pro-e 980x EVGA 850PSU Supernova T2 Msi B450 R7 2700 EVGA 850PSU Supernova GQ All have the current windows pro version, all have the latest AMD 19.4.3 software. The GDDR5 memory on the RX 580 is micron and all systems were also tested with an XFX RX 570 with Elipida memory. The benchmarks I pulled from here: https://www.guru3d.com/files-categories/benchmarks-demos.html . I used the Monster Hunter and Unigine heaven and FFXV. Now on to the issue, the RX 580 causes a black screen, the monitor loses connection or freezes on every benchmark. Sometimes it's immediate, other times after a minute or two on all the above systems except for the X58 and The B450!! At this point I have tried locking frame rates and tried display port, HDMI and 5 different monitors. The 570 runs fine on all no issues and the 580 id flawless on the X58 and B450! Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    8700K @ 5.2Ghz, need help!

Every chip is different. Some can get 5ghz at 1.2, some can't get 5.0ghz at all. I can get 5.1 @ 1.4, but I'm not comfortable with that. I delidded my chip and with a medium level cooler, I never go above 65c in regular tasks and only to 80 in RealBench. Fan is silent. Got it for the bling bling

Questions concerning a purchase: MSI GTX 1070 8GB Gaming.

Thanks for replying. I can live without raytracing. If I understand it correctly, is still in its infancy and really puts out a big performance hit when enabled. Is that correct?

iPhone vs Android – The FIVE Year Test

iOS is still the easier to use than Android. It took them less than a day to figure out how to use an iPhone and they like it.

LF a wqhd Monitor for coding and gaming

First thank you for your answer and sorry for my late response! I read on your signature that you have this Display. The monitor is looking decent. Is it true that you can only get 10bit at 120hz? How is the real input lag? Maybe I will get this monitor for productivity and single player games and I will play on my Asus 144hz 1080p competitive fps games. First thank you for your answer and sorry for my late response! My friend has the BenQ Zowie XL2411. He is happy like you with it. Does BenQ have decent 1440p IPS displays?
  12. Sorry, just saw this. What I meant by a huge advantage on RAM for Ryzen is that 3400MHz still has benefits for it, whereas the 9400F also clocked at 3400 doesn't really show any differences usually from 3000. So if both were dropped down to 3000, the 9400F results would be largely the same while the 2600x results would drop a bit.

checked the prices a few days ago for xeon, prices arent that much cheaper than standard i7, say ~$80 for a xeon
  14. It'll easily do 1080p and even 1440p (some tweaking may be needed depending on the game). $260 is a pretty decent deal for a brand new 1070, seeing how they seem to be around $230-250 used. If you want to be able to use ray tracing, then save more and get a 2060 or 2070. If you're fine without having ray tracing, go with the 1070.
  15. Hell yeah! My 6s Plus gave it all it had, and now it’s giving even a little more!

$250 for a 64GB 6s Plus is above market value. The trade in experience was extremely seamless. The hardest thing about it was dropping off it off at a FedEx location.

Questions concerning a purchase: MSI GTX 1070 8GB Gaming.

Thank you for your reply. Would you happen to know how it fairs up to the new 1660ti and the 20xx series?
  17. I am going to be building a custom water loop in a define r6 coming up once the new ryzen 3000's come out. I plan on the crosshair series board with a mono block and a rtx 2060 asus strix with a ek water block as well. If i use a 280mm rad at front with intake setup on fans and 280 at top for exhaust what should i do to make sure of positive air pressure. Should i make the back into a intake or an intake at the bottom or what options are there as i want to mitigate dust issues as much as possible. If anyone h as any other suggestions i am open to them as with the define r6 it can support 360 front, 420 top, 280 bottom and i think 140 rear that shouldnt need them all with rads as that will complicate and dirty up the loop

    1. They are kinda gross

    2. It's like wearing a stethoscope whenever anything touches the cable

    3. They hurt my ears

    4. You can't hear anything around you which is a safety hazard

YES YES and YES to 3 querstions
  25. I didn't say the m50 is "better" for lows exactly. The m50 has a very exaggerated FR curve in the lower frequencies, meaning it is tuned to provide a higher SPL at "bass frequencies," to a point where the bass sounds bloated and unnatural. The m50 is for bass heads who just want to hear bass. Someone could argue it's a "funner" headphone of the two. But the 770's bass is much more refined and subtle by comparison to the m50. I have heard some music where the 770 was slamming bass into my ears. I'm not saying the 770 is perfect... I would get roasted alive if I said that around here. But in terms of audio quality, comfort, and accurate bass reproduction between these two headphones, the 770 is the clear winner. Especially the 250ohm pro version with the velour ear pads. 26. *UPDATE* I reinstalled Windows 10, and it fixed it.
