Probably things more along the line of reading old hardware documentation in the voice of Johnny Silverhand while I wait for some shovelware to install.

Your vote and opinion - Switching back to GTX 1660 Super and why?

GTX cards aren't supported anymore, go with the 6600 XT. -
This is the manual in PDF https://dl.dell.com/content/manual13059505-inspiron-15-3511-service-manual.pdf?language=en-us Page 14 shows the two WiFi antenna cables connecting to and through the Display assembly. You need those those reconnected, or obtain an aftermarket antenna and connect it to the WiFi module.

Can all 32:9 monitors do split screen? He will still be able to game at 16:9 and have half the screen for desktop (if all 32:9 can do that).

Open it up and show us that glorious 64 GB MicroSD Card which probably has WannaCry on it, or at least a Keylogger.

I'd recommend using Adrenaline if you're on an AMD card doing any sort of tuning. You get more tuning options and in my experience it just works better. If you do want to use something else, MoreClockTool is basically an alternate UI to Adrenaline with all the same tuning options. -
The ultimate starter guide to FriendlyElec CM3588 (RK3588)

i just got my CM3588 and tried connecting two 2TB nvme drives to it but only one shows up. I've tried changing the slots around but what ever I do I can only get one to work. I've seen other people with the same problem but I haven't seen a solution yet. Any ideas on how to fix this? -

Disabling services and other useless software. As I already said before, the Kernel is the least of your worries when it comes to ram usage. Nah, you can boot the kernel itself in less than 1MB, and even have SSH and networking with ~1MB of RAM, but that's basically just the kernel and some core components, not useful for a desktop system. That's mostly due to other software that the system tries to start on boot, you can get a pretty minimal install if you want. As an example, here's an archbang vm install with some stuff disabled and ctwm + xterm: Less than 200mb, using systemd (which does take it fair share of ram), without swap. Systemd takes around 10mb of ram in total: And here's top sorted by memory: If you were to forgo systemd and some other quality of life stuff you can easily go below 100MB usage. Xorg alone takes almost 20MB lol You can also disable some unused kernel modules (without actually rebuilding the kernel) to shave some extra ram. If you want to go extreme, replace glibc with musl. Such an example of extremely minimalist distro is glaucus: https://github.com/glaucuslinux/glaucus Alpine can also idle with really low ram usage, and it's closer to a real-life, production-ready distro.

I can give you two advices, the Spigen desk mat or the Mionix desk mat, look them up... both great.

The only people who have 8 throwaway discord accounts are assholes who are doing something that'll get their account banned. Former roommate had like 10 accounts, should've known that was a massive red flag

Speaking of undervolting, should I use MSI afterburner or the AMD Adrenaline software? -

Zipties and pegboard. Worked like a charm for me. Or just not use that board. If you're in a major metro you should be able to find cast off servers for 150-200 -
Yeah, you need a rather hefty, large desk for that... 2070S will do some gaming here and there with it. Don't expect a ton though.

Welcome to the forums! Which one is least expensive?

Hypoercloud makes decent bang for buck (on sale) I personally run either M50X or Sony XM4 cans with a 100$ passive mic (ATZ2040) on a 100$ arm (PS1) plugged into a 100$ interface (UMC 204HD). It's a bit overkill, but it's rock goddamn solid

Hope you got a big desk. I got a 34 inch (21:9) and a problem that didn't occur to me until after i put the monitor on my desk was horizontal space. I got about 6 inches (of desk space) for taller stuff, as you don't want to put anything blocking your screen, like phone, headphones, stealth bottle from lttstore.com. Had to move the monitor to the left side so i had continuous 6 inches (of desk space) .

Lenovo Legion 9i vs. 7i
MrSimplicity replied to superbrett2000's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Just remember you can always build an SFF pc if you're worried about space. I've built a couple in my day and they are surprisingly pretty nice to have. Also if you manage to keep your budget for the PC that low you could always even buy a cheaper laptop that would most likely be running a 4050 in it and it will runs games quite a bit smoother than a steam deck. For the games that I play I find the only really advantage to the steam deck or my laptop or desktop is that emulators work extremely well on it. I always had issues with super laggy emulations of PS2 games on PC but whatever hardware the steam deck is using is perfect for it. After 20 years I finally had the motivation to actually beat DK64. Currently off and on with Zelda: OOT but mainly just been playing the old pokemon games. On that note if you do get a steam deck, download emudeck. It houses all of the emulators you could want and it's super easy to use. -
There are TONS. I personally swear by ATH M50Xs with aftermarket ear cups.

Uh, get rekt m8. The idea of using disposable identities for personal communication is kinda reprehensible in today's world. And you got *any* sources for your assertion there? Because my understanding was that they (formerly) allowed non unique names so people couldn't squat desirable ones, rather than to incentivize smurfing
