Hi, i recently putted together a new pc with a Ryzen 5 7600x, an ASUS TUF B650M and 2x16 of Kingston FURY 5600MT/s memory (KF556C40BA-16) This memory is CL40 and searching in the Kingston page it doesnt mention it being compatible with any AMD processors, only with Intel XMP. Does this mean im going to have problems running this RAM's with my processor at all? or only that i cant overclock them using DOCP from AMD to the max speed my processor support's, that is 5200MHz? Could this change in the future with a software update that made this RAM's compatible with DOCP overclocking? I paid a lot of money for this RAM's, in my country PC components are really expensive so im really worried to have made a wrong purchase Thank you for your help

Is it worth it in 2024 to build a pc with R9 3950X?
BentleyOwen123 replied to Mantas's topic in New Builds and Planning
likely cause he had nothing to complain about, your only other option in that price is like a used ryzen 5 5500 or a new 13 10100f, so no get that its a wonderful deal, see if you can be a dick and talk him down more... -

Is it possible to find some other CPU for similar price somewhere which would be better than that? And what's the worse that would happen if I used that CPU for gaming? I mean the friend used it only for gaming and I did not hear him complain much -

go used, check ebay for prices on a 3080, if you find a 7800xt new on sale for 300(which would be a steal) try that, other than that dont bother with new 4060 is the only new nvidia card in your budget, but its shit so dont buy it haha -

Wow guys, thank you for such quick responses. Well my country is Lithuania, and I am not sure which GPU would be best, should I look for new or used, ideal budget for GPU would be up to 300 EUR. -
do the gpu fans spin up at all?

Best PC case with a lot of hard drive bays for my server?

Does that mean it wont fit in a normal case? Might have to get a new motherboard then. -

i would look for a used 3070 ti or 3080(ti) dont bother with the base 3070 unless your budget permits only that, the 3070ti has a big perfomance boost, or go for a new 7800xt or used 6900xt if rt isnt your thing -
I'm confused by your math, doctor. 3 intake - dust filter/ radiator resistance != 3 exhaust fans - exhaust grill resistance. If all fans are the same, that generally means negative pressure AFAIK. Please explain.

i dont know it youve done this...but...pbo on asus boards (at least x570 boards not sure on x470) need turned on in 2 different areas. first in ai tweaker and the second one is in advanced (i think under amd overclocking) just a thought with just pbo on my 5800x with a 240 rad its hit 5.1gig on 2 good cores and 4.8 on the rest with an auto overclock of 4.2 is the best ive seen on my chip

Is it worth it in 2024 to build a pc with R9 3950X?
Dedayog replied to Mantas's topic in New Builds and Planning
Yuor budget determines a lot of this. Like what GPU to get? How much money do you have? 70 for a 3950x is excellent. Why do you have a friend if you think he might be scamming you? use a different word, like some asshole I know, or something. Tho you need to ask yourself if you truly need a 3950x for gaming 1080p, even for a good price. It's not a gaming CPU, but for the price it'll do. -
Do they make a 92MM?
-
Sickle flows came with the nr200 Replacing CPU fans coz I figured if im getting quieter case fans having noisier cpu fans would negate the effect abit 92mm is in the back yes as my intake as I thought it would be better for air flow (Red being air flow, blue for parts and where they are). Sorry if obvious. PSU fan is on the inside of case as well so its sort of also a case fan as the case fan on top of it helps remove air The GPU is pretty cool temp wise and quiet enough.

that's bad value, if you're paying this much for a psu get a better cpu here's a better option Cooler Master MWE Gold V2 ATX3.0 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (MPE-8501-AFAAG-3) - PCPartPicker great price for a 3950x. main bit is what is your GPU choice? budget for the GPU? and country? -

4070 Ti is only about 10% better, though now it's at $680 it could be worth it. 4070 SUPER is slightly better value, I mostly chose it since it was the price competitor to the 7900 XT and is better than the 4070 SUPER for RT. But if OP isn't using RT then they should get the 7900 XT all good . Just my opinion on the Ti, it's not necessarily the right option

Is it worth it in 2024 to build a pc with R9 3950X?
Mantas posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hello, Everyone! So I have this situation in my life. One of my friends recently built a new PC and he has some spare parts left, I was thinking to take them from him and find a used GPU and just build something with budget in mind. The thing is the CPU that he has is Ryzen 9 3950x, I remember like 5 years ago this was one of the better CPU on the market (I think) but now its 2024 and it's quite outdated, is it even worth it to try and build something cheap with that CPU around. I will paste what he has with prices. 1. CPU: 3950X - 70EUR 2. MOBO: MSI X570 Carbon pro WIFI - 120EUR 3. RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 4x16GB 3600Mhz - 70EUR 4. PSU: NEW! ASUS RGB 850W Platinum - 150-170 EUR (Haven't decided yet on the price) Case I would find for cheap, I think I have spare somewhere. SSD I could take out of my laptop, or get like 1tb M.2 for cheap. CPU cooler I would buy something new for more or less 50EUR, and of course I would be looking online for a used GPU (Which GPU would you recommend?). So do you guys think this is possible and worth it, are the prices for these items legit or he just wants to scam me? The PC would be used mainly for gaming, maybe some light streaming, I am playing on 1080p and not planning to upgrade any time soon. Sorry for my grammar. Waiting for your thoughts and opinions. Thank you! -
