  1. Past hour
  2. This is very odd thing to go on. It's like an infant learned a new word and now it's everywhere and the infant really doesn't understand what the word means neither that it's just one thing and there's so much more. This is so much similar thing as the lootbox hunt for games. Everyone so furious about lootboxes and have million opinions on lootboxes and game monetization about lootboxes and like 99% of them do not even have a clue where the virtual casino actually begins at and how much they have been carried in a bag like a little pigs now for about couple decades. But LOOTBOXES! For example the earliest and currently again kind of a huge trend is the premium currency aka. token, it's primary function is to cloud the use of real money, like no one thinks that they are using $1€ when they pay that 10 gems on power-up. The current fancy thing is to have two or more premium currencies from which one can be only bought with real money (others can be also bought but they're also gained through gameplay), the dirty part is also that but what is the real shit is to limit either by item amounts or just directly different "store" or items how much and where you can use the "lesser" premium currencies and have unlimited, better and a ton more expensive for the one "whale currency" and the normal game currency is pretty much meaningless resource that you pile in millions and get pretty much nothing with. BUT LOOTBOXES!!! There's almost no one complaining about how much influencers actually skew the image. Like want to take a guess how many still have their Apple Vision Pros? I was almost going to die from laughter when couple probably already over their teens were filming some intro for some video outside of local PC store about reviewing some AIB RTX 4090... And then inside the camera man was returning one RTX 4090 while the host was getting one and both acted like they didn't even know each other in the store. So many youtubers take sponsorships from almost on the verge of being scams even after the whole Scammed Titles and Scamikoto knives and whatever thing came crashing down, like the damn scent water bottle. Hell, there's times when YouTube ITSELF runs some subsidy scam ads and where's the outrage? So, the baby just learned the word "tax write off" and it needs to be repeated everywhere. Is it a big thing? Nope, those are very small things that hardly do anything, there's bigger gains in crunching the numbers and planning the investments so you buy more at the time but spread that cost across longer time so you don't suddenly loose a lot of money because you invested it into new machinery or something. For purely taxation point the bigger thing would be actually turning your direct income into investment income by just not paying wage for yourself but making a holding company that owns your business and only taking the dividends from the holding company because that is super cheaply taxed income in pretty much all around the globe. But that is something everyone with a business and halfway decent accountant do. If people were so upset about that, better get the torches and start burning pretty much every single company they come across from Ben&Jerry's to Apple to LMG (I would remember Linus mentioning that Yvonne has actually done that to some extent with the "Yvonnes evil corporation" that owns LMG). BUT TAX WRITE OFFS!!!
  3. I don't know enough about engine cooling to answer this, but still can't see how it's comparable to cooling a PC.
  4. https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1045548/#:~:text=Click [Choose what the power button does]④.,Fast Startup feature in Windows.
  5. Chiaki4Deck is an amazing piece of software.

Got myself a PS5 slim disc on sale for 449 and my Steam Deck is basically a PlayStation Portal.

  6. thats the nice thing about reality, what we are saying checks out i think ur forgetting that many ppl that water cools their pc want big (and many) rads cuz they want to run fans at such low speeds that u cant hear anything.
  7. I haven't had the same lock up, but it has been crashing and rebooting. It still only happens when I am not running a game, so it's probably still the same issue. I think this has happened before too, but it normally happens when I'm afk. I also tried messing with the GPU fans thinking that maybe when it went into eco mode and the fans turned off it would overheat, but that didn't help. A few minutes ago I removed and re-seated the GPU. I also switched from a display port cable to a hdmi cable. If I keep having problems I will completely remove the card and see if it's stable with onboard graphics instead.
  8. The ANC difference is negligible, Ultra imo isolate worse so in practice the QC35's cancel more noise. It's a common problem with new ANC headphones (placebo + weak isolation = more percieved impact) i'd stick with the QC35's if you want ANC headphones
  9. I basically spend as much as well. Make sure you don't squint be it because text is small or display too dark. You need to blink enough to moisturize eyes if itching, if burning same, can use some eye drops to help. Also, best rest for eyes from monitor is looking at distance for a while when not looking at monitor, as it lets eyes change focus distance to relax.
  10. 7800XT recommended if you want to push a 1440P gaming monitor past 100fps in most games.... but it will vary a LOT per game. I play at 1440P 170Hz with my 3080Ti.... there are a few really well optimised games that will push consistently around that number and actually need to be capped (Fortnite / CounterStrike 2), but a lot of others dip WELL below it.... but it usually depends on the map / what is happening on screen: Rust will push 140fps ultra details on a low-pop map, but drop to 50fps near some big Zerg farm bases.... DayZ will run a flat 170fps in one game, but <100fps in the next.
  11. Thanks for the input! I was sacared of getting the wrong setup while it could take a lot effort to reverse the payment
  12. Yeah, the lower PCIEx16 Gen 5 is about 5 slots worth down so you should be plenty fine, and if not, you might able to run in the gen 4 with no issue, 6 slots lower, but might run into the case limitations then, but again, the G5_3 slot should be perfectly fine The watercooled versions would be more expensive and the air cooled ones are fine, im sure if they dont fit you could work out some sort of return and get the thinner cards?
  13. still, having that extra fan will pull air out and still leave it with plenty of positive pressure as those front fans look like 140s and so are moving quite a bit of air into the case and its just 1 120 rear fan which doesnt have to extract a massive amount of air, just create a current to exhaust hot air created by the pancake cpu cooler
  14. Yeah, should have consulted first. A better choice would be watercooled version, I was under impression that water cooled GPU are expensive. I hope there will be more room than the picture shown... Shown as the figure below: the TRX50 is a pretty big board...
  15. Corsair is worth a gamble for a budget build, but the main concern with Corsair is their inconsistency... so if you buy two sticks that work well, then awesome.... but adding another 2 sticks is very risky: I was suckered in by the rave reviews of the early 2x8Gb DDR4 Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 C16 RAM that could run way above their rated speeds as they had high end Samsung B-die memory modules.... when I went to buy another 16Gb kit of EXACTLY the same part number FROM CORSAIR, they had downgraded it to SKHynix that would scarcely run at the XMP speeds.... and couldn't run at the XMP speeds with any other memory in the system, even when paired up with the "identical" kit from Corsair. I don't actively avoid Corsair for for budget builds, but as soon as you're spending a reasonable amount of money, then I've found GSkill is the most reliable and the one that most serious benchmarkers / reviews seem to use.
  16. It‘s insane how so many that have replied here get the HW renew-cycle of Apple products and customer behavior horribly wrong. This thread is nothing but hot air.
  17. No, which leads to question, why post? If the response if criticism, defense towards all other parties etc. Only LMG staff can help. While this might be seen (and most certainly has been seen), its still iffy whether there's something they can do. Other than pay new card out of their own pocket. If AMD has made policy decision not to serve warranties to products that have been gain from non-retail sources (so from them directly or from some board partner, store etc. without there being proof of purhcase), then thats that. LMG can push AMD about such policy, but considering how big AMD is compared to influence of LMG even towards their more major sponsors like Asus, its doubtful anything will happen.
  18. Windows has been able to do striped and mirrored partitions for decades, and if you want to get fancier than that you can use Storage Spaces. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/storage-spaces-in-windows-b6c8b540-b8d8-fb8a-e7ab-4a75ba11f9f2
  19. The two gpus are quite tall, my worry, like yours, would be if they fit in their PCIe slots without interfering with each other, see below thread I think that threads poster settled on 2 windforce 4090s They barely fit together at 56mm tall, the TUFs are 72.6mm, so be wary of this when building, however, with the motherboard youre using for the TR, you could be fine as they have so many PCIe slots Is this 4 DIMMs @ 64GB each? your case should be plenty fine, heres my 5000D airflow, the smaller version with a 7800xt nitro+, a rather massive card installed in it, the 7000D is a decent jump in size again
  20. Today
  21. I'm not saying it would work in this case, but you can use positive pressure design; if the fans are well gasketed and the rest of the case is sealed (except for a rear exhaust area), the only place for the air to escape would be that space.... does get dusty though!
  22. Stated in the OP that the return window is over.
  23. You could do that since pretty much forever. (at least back to windows nt) raid has long been supported on windows.
  24. what country? what sites ard you buying from? send thaiphoon burner screenshot to identify ic and buy a matching oem stick or resell to get a proper 2x8 kit depending on ic cause buying another xmp stick will just get you a completely different random ic most of the time id look for a dram gen3 drive like the mushkin tempest, silicon power a80, etc. since they usually dont cost that much more than a dramless drive and are usually faster, i think they also last longer but we are talking in the 10+ year range here so probably doesnt matter
  25. Budget (including currency): 10k USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AI and Sci compute Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi guys, I was trying to put together a build that can house two 4090s. It was a bit late to ask right now since I've submitted the purchase to procurement process, but would appreciate inputs and suggestions! The final list I had is as follow: CPU: AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 7970X MB: ASUS Pro WS TRX50-SAGE WIFI CEB MEM: Samsung 64GB DDR5 4800MHz PC5-38400 ECC RDIMM (X4) PSU: Seasonic Prime TX-1300, 1300W Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S TR5-SP6 CASE: CORSAIR 7000D AIRFLOW Full-Tower ATX GPU: ASUS TUF GeForce RTX® 4090 OC Edition (X2) I am worrying about if the two GPUs can fit into the case and MB, if not, would a riser + external GPU case work? Recommendations? Thanks in advance for any input!
