  1. Past hour
  2. Yup! FYI: the 7700 non-X and 7600 non-X do come with coolers. Looks fine. The only choice I'd be dubious about is the PSU, purely because of Gigabyte's recent history with them.
  3. I think Intel is going to have to start increasing their ihs size or just the overall size of their chips. They are constantly at the the very edge of how much heat you can physically remove from a small area.
  4. Could you define me "kernel panic" please? Without knowing what kernel panic means, my screen goes completely black, PC is still running (I can see the fans spinning) and after 1-2 minutes of black screen it reboots EDIT: Ram is pretty fine. memtest86 showed 0 problems
  5. no, 8gb of ram is not enough for any modern payment processing website. for gods sake for $70 you can buy a much newer laptop dont buy anything without tpm2.0
  6. Welcome to the forums! What kind of crash are you having? Just straight to black or do you get a kernel panic? I'd maybe try a fresh install Also, make sure your RAM is stable (not sure of how on Linux)
  7. Budget (including currency): 15 000 sek ( 1400 USD ish) Country: Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and browsing. I play games like Helldivers 2, fortnite and valorant etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have a very shitty prebuilt pc and I'm in a despearate need of an upgrade. I'm thinking of buying these parts: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Graphics card: Gigabyte Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB Gaming OC Chassi: Phanteks Eclipse G360A Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2x16GB) SSD: Kingston KC3000 M.2 2TB Power supply: GIGABYTE UD750GM CPU cooler: DeepCool AG400 Is this a good build within my budget? I don't know anything about computers, I just want the games I play to run smoothly with good graphics. I have two monitors. I'm gonna upgrade my current monitor i use for gaming as well. I'm propably gonna buy a 144hz monitor but i'm not sure if I should go for 1440p or 1080p. Will this build be able to handle 1440p with decent fps?
  8. After my Celeron laptop died decided to make a pc pls rate it 1to10 Main specs : Intel core i5 6500 Two Stick's of 8gb ddr4 at 2400 CL19 RX580 GPU 256gb NVME SSD
  9. FOMO is their entire business model. Especially with this push of being a “luxury brand” And for a while people didn’t want to miss out on the latest and greatest because the latest did a better job of meeting their needs. Now? “Yeah I’m good, thanks.”
  10. What is the defect? What does the card do or not do? We have precious little information to go on, or is this just a rant thread? It sounds like you're looking for someone to fix it, but coming here without info just sounds like you're shitting on AMD. Cuz LTT and anyone else isn't responsible for it at all. And the guy who posted to be positive and that LTT will handle it... off his rocker.
  11. Windows took over control over if the iGPU or dGPU is used. Good luck with that. This used to suck less when Nvidia had control. There is an option somewhere in Windows where you can say what tasks use which GPU. When the dGPU is not in use, it can appear to disappear, which means it can't be used. Ideally you would turn off the iGPU entirely and only use dGPU for both performance and consistency. This tends to be a higher end laptop option only so might not be an option in this case. Still, you can look in bios to see if it is possible at all.
  12. This seems to be their answer for everything. At some point it changes from "unusually high" to "normal".
  13. I moved my SSD, and I don't run windows, I run fedora39. I run windows in virti-manager so I can play Bluestacks from there
  14. No one knows how I can troubleshoot the rest of my components?
  15. As mentioned above, is this just that you need a laptop for her on a budget? Or is this going to be used as a POS machine? First gen i series will do ok enough with modern usage, it’ll support windows 10 or current Linux fine, YouTube and web browsers in general won’t have any issues on it. Id be more concerned about the age of the machine in general, where you’d rarely see any effective battery life left, so you’d more than likely need a new battery.
  16. I wouldn't be expecting to see you at The Media Production & Technology Show near the Avid stall by any chance would I?
  17. Also the option is kinda hidden in a sub menu, so im not sure if its even required that you fill it out. I assume it is set as not ai by default if not filled out.
  18. Sounds good, come back then and we'll help any way we can.
  19. People need to stop saying that they are shopping for a CPU based on CPU price alone when doing a full build and considering multiple platforms. (Not talking about in-socket upgrades)

"I've got $500 to spend on the CPU" is like saying with a car "I've got $5,000 to spend on the engine" and ignoring the sticker price of the actual car. It makes no sense.

CPU, motherboard, and RAM are not separable when it comes to pricing out a build. At best, if all platforms support the same generation of RAM, you can ignore that - but only if you know you'll buy the same RAM regardless of the CPU and motherboard you choose. If you want to go DDR5-7200 with Intel but DDR5-6000 with AMD, then it still needs considering. Minimally, motherboard pricing must be considered when picking a CPU.

You do not have $500 to spend on a CPU. You have $700 or $900 or whatever dollars to spend on the platform.

  20. Many adults do not understand tax brackets. Part of me thinks governments aren't interested in teaching math well, because people would be unhappy if they understood the math behind government deficit spending.
  21. WereCat

Anyone else has this issue recently with YT app…

I also forgot to mention that I can actually pause/play/skip/rewind the video from the lock screen or the notification bar but just can't get directly into the app. It's really weird and buggy and annoying.
