Baader-Meinhof Effect has to be a real thing:
There's a PA speaker in the trash at work. I proudly told my boss that I had resisted taking it. He explained it would be pointless because they're 70V driven. I did not know this.
Ten minutes later, this post was made:
This keeps happening to me. This is stuff I would recall if I already knew it or if I encountered it often.
-
Exactly. Nobody knows what it is because it's the third fucking time they've renamed the service.

Sis you're tripping if you think there's little difference between a 6700xt and a 7900xtx

Hiya, 2 suggestions, a new PFSense and ProxMox video detailing what it is and why it is supposedly so good at blocking ads. Discuss the differences between all the different types of wireless HDMI Tx & Rx kits. I have been shopping on Amazon and seeing lots of visually different technological differences. Ones that look just like USB sticks, ones that look like USB cables, ones that have USB or HDMI connectors with antennas, ones that have dongles and even ones that have set top type boxes with antennas. What are all the differences? How to pick the right one for your needs? I am providing a link to my Amazon list of Wireless HDMI Tx & Rx Kits so you can see the differences I am talking about: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/34HM28JW48VX2?ref_=wl_share Oh, and question with possible suggestion. Have you ever considered doing a WAN Show as a call in to take comments and questions? If not I think it would be neat! I watched one of the most recent ones that discussed Piracy and loved it. I posted a bunch of really good comments that would have been great to have done if the show was done as a call in show. Sincerely, WonderWoman

If this is the model, AN16-41-R1WE: https://www.acer.com/us-en/laptops/nitro/nitro-16-amd/pdp/NH.QLLAA.001 Then it appears that no, the Type C port does not support video out via DP Alt mode: Weirdly, a cheaper model with an Intel i5 and 4050 does, likely because it includes a thunderbolt chip. I wanted to get a couple rechargeable batteries for my stuff so I didn't have to bother about disposable batteries again.
But after looking into it, the ROI time is ~20 years for my use case (wireless keeb, low power draw items)
So I'm probably not the target audience, who are those that drain their batteries almost daily or weekly. -
Note: better build below For higher quality SSD and MB you'd have to lower storage to 1TB PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor ($383.99 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler ($33.90 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Newegg) Memory: *Silicon Power Value Gaming 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory ($97.97 @ Amazon) Storage: *Silicon Power UD90 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($102.97 @ B&H) Video Card: Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB Video Card ($599.99 @ Newegg) Case: Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($64.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 - V2 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($90.99 @ Newegg) Total: $1494.79 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available *Lowest price parts chosen from parametric criteria Generated by PCPartPicker 2024-04-17 16:22 EDT-0400

No performance difference, MASSIVE image quality difference. FSR uses a sharpening algorithm, and doesn't use any machine learning. If I were to rate them 1-5 in terms of image quality with 5 being native. FSR 1.0: 1/5 (might as well not use any upscaling) FSR 2.x: 2/5 (Good, but lots of artefacting, oversharpening, TERRIBLE flickering!) XeSS 1.2: 3/5 (Less flickering, some overall softness, inconsistent AA, moving objects have huge trails) Xess 1.3: 3.5/5 (Flickering reduced more, better AA, no trails, but a little softer) DLSS 2.x: 4/5 (Sharp but ghosting issues, weird smearing on slow-moving objects) DLSS 3.x: 4.5/5 (almost no issues, especiallyt in 3.7) FSR 2.0 is useable, XeSS 1.3 is good, DLSS 3.xx is amazing. With the correct amount of sharpening and ultra textures, 1080p internal upscaled to 4k looks indistinguishable to native during gameplay. In terms of raw raster performance, the 7900XTX is 20% faster than the 4070 Ti Super for a similar price. But the upscalers on offer are SO far apart.

Visual Studio CPU Hardware recommendations
Agall replied to Agall's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I think I like that B760 CSM board enough to just end up with a decent kit of 4800MHz RAM. What will be the point of contention will be the specific Intel CPU I choose. Unless prices drop like crazy on the 7950x and I can get the B650 version of that board, I might end up with that anyways. This might be a few months, but at least I know precisely what direction to take. ASUS Pro B650M-CT-CSM AM5 Micro-ATX Motherboard PRO B650M-CT-CSM (bhphotovideo.com) This also allows me to potentially use ECC, although I don't think that's necessary. Intel gatekeeps that behind their Q chipsets, which Asus does have a version of. Pro Q670M-C-CSM|Motherboards|ASUS USA If I were building another server, I'd go with one of these options. Its hilarious how much cheaper a DIY server like this is comparably to an OEM Dell one, and how terrible the performance/$ is. There's some servers I will always use OEM Dell for simply for the security of it, but there's plenty that don't need that. Their rigs run Quadro P620's, but there's no reason for them to beside extra display outputs. None of their workload uses CUDA or any encoders which I was able to confirm. The VS pages at least one of the developers are using were only taking up 400MB of RAM, but he was sitting at 18GB of RAM with his normal background tasks. I'll likely end up just getting 2x32GB kits. CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 4800 (PC5 38400) Desktop Memory Model CMK64GX5M2A4800C40 - Newegg.com If memory performance isn't crazy important on VS, then it won't matter that much on the rest of their applications. a CL40 4800MHz kit for only $170 is pretty great imo. -

This is a 70V speaker, built for cheap public address systems. It has a built in transformer (with multiple taps, hence the 6W/3W/1.5W terminals) and will only work properly with a suitable amplifier that has a 70V output. In usual applications you would connect a lot of 70V speakers in parallel to one amplifier output - in that case the different transformer taps are being used to "control" the volume of individual speakers. Using speakers like this with a conventional amplifier (such as a hifi receiver or similar) might not damage anything, but still isn't something I would recommend due to quality concerns (achievable volume etc.). The best way to use such speakers with conventional amplifiers would be to open the enclosure and bypass the transformer. Still, for what you're trying to achieve you will need some sort of amplifier as already mentioned. There are plenty cheap options available on the big online shopping sites of your choice, almost any will be more than enough for a speaker like that. Since you want to sum stereo to mono, maybe get an amp that will do that for you. Quality-wise those speakers tend to be at the bottom end of what is considered acceptable. They'll work somewhat okay for spoken word, but nothing I would even remotely consider for listening to music, movies and stuff like that. They are made to be cheap (cause you will use dozens of them in an usual installation), not good. While we're at it: I don't really get what you're trying to achieve with a "center speaker" behind your back? Ideally, a center speaker would be (hence the name) centered in your screen, cause in a proper setup it's main job is reproducing voices. Seeing people speak in front of you, but hearing them from your back would be quite irritating IMHO.
