I'm convinced New Jersey is a cancer now (besid…

My mom's chevette was a "check the gas and fill the oil" type of car. The 3000 mile oil change schedule was for when effectively straight crude and engines burned oil so horribly.
  3. I played Call of Duty until World At War and it was fine. Modern Warfare was different but still alright, though I liked the WW2 setting more. I didn't bother with the rest as I've read they were more of the same. And it still is, all of the games are basically the same copy-pasta with new skins and maps, there's nothing new about them anymore, it's just a moneygrab. By the way, those games were already "old" when I got to play them, I didn't play at launch date. But it's not a COD issue, it's a gaming as a whole issue. Which is one of the reasons I don't touch any multiplayer game, cheaters are everywhere and they ruin the experience for everyone else, even more when it comes to "free" games. Once you know how games work, and what the "matchmaking algorithms" do, you don't wanna play anymore, I won't ruin it for you but all the games are basically rigged on purpose regardless of how good you are at them, it's like Casino, the house never loses, it's made in such a way you always try to return or buy passes, boosts, skins or whatever they're selling, "look at this new pass, it's only $1, don't you have $1? come on, buy it". I quit Half-Life because VALVE WON'T MAKE THE THIRD GAME ^^
  4. Redhat -> CentOS ->{yum} RPM round-a-bout Debian -> {apt}/aptitude Arch -> {Pacman} Gentoo ->{Portage} Xlib-> XCB-> Window managers (too many to list, 49 according to wikipedia) Is it too much to ask that "Double click" launch a program or open the document? What the OP experienced was merely a permission issue, but they shouldn't have to come to a forum to figure this out. The OS could have done the obvious look for the magic bytes/script interpreter associated with it and ask if they want to make it executable if it wasn't. Windows does this when you download things and try to launch it. Not everything Windows does is good or even user friendly, but Linux is not the leader, so it should be following the expectations of how Windows or how MacOS deal with things. Is it too much to ask to just download a "linux program", unpack it, and run it without having to do any finagling at all? The closest you get to that is Steam alone. That bypasses 4 different ways a Linux OS may deal with packages, and the 49 different window managers that may want to do things differently.
  5. As long as there is clearance, itl be fine. the air doesn't flow sideways.
  6. Build looks fine. In fact, it is nearly identical to my current build. the 12100f is a great CPU, and I have used it with very little bottleneck to my asus rog 3070. Although the aorus master card is a tad bit better. The mobo is good, although asrock software isn't the best. The nvme drive is fast and cheap, and the psu is pretty reliable and is an a tier. Great build!
  7. that the disk formatting is OK, but it's strange that it doesn't appear from the Internet, it only says em0 em1 and where's the rest
  8. Hello, I'm new to the forum so if this is the wrong place to post this then forgive me. To jump right into it, I’m getting a solid white Q led reading on my asus proart x570 motherboard. It’s completely sudden, up until today it’s been posting with 0 issues at all. I have 2 gpus, an RTX 3060ti and a gt 1030 that run a 3 monitor setup. After solving infinite issues and trying to get it to post, I finally got it to post on the gt 1030 once. I got it to post one time with both GPU's installed and I cannot replicate it. It posts just fine with only the gt 1030. By my conclusive and all knowing research, solid white qled means it’s having connection issues with the gpu This has never happened. Although, when I downloaded msi afterburner to mess around with overclocking my gpu, somewhere along the way I messed something up(I think I put the settings to max and it wasn't happy). So I booted in safe mode, and uninstalled msi afterburtner. Since then no issues up until now. I do have a slight suspicion as to what it could be. The night before, while shutting my PC down, I pressed the restart button instead of the power button (both physical), so then I proceeded to hold the power button to force a power down and go on with my night. Something about that seems like bad PC etiquette, so don't flame me too hard. I've tried various things, and I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestion is welcome and if you need more information I'm happy to provide
  9. Title. Does it exist? I found this, but it doesn't appear to be a keychain and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable drilling into the casing to add a chain/string to make it one. Does anyone make such a thing? Compact, fold out US/CA pins for standard AC outlets, with a USB out? I'd love to find something small enough to carry daily so the next time I'm at the hospital like today, +8 hours now... I have a way to charge! Big thanks for any and all advice!
  10. Try reseating the ram and resetting the cmos. Also try reseating the gpu.
  11. That’s a perfectly fine place to put it. Just make sure it’s not touching a fan and you’re good to go.
  12. It was streamed on Floatplane earlier today and the vod is posted.
  13. Well, for pure performance, The 7900 gre will get better fps, but nvidia cards are better suited for fortnite. However, the 7900gre still gets more performance. Honestly, I guess you'd be better of with a 7900 gre, since it does get a bit more fps. However, If you are spending so much on a GPU, not utilizing all the features, like tsa epic, ray tracing, and a higher resolution, feels kinda pointless. also, after 120, you really cant tell the difference in fps from like 300fps and 200fps, let alone the difference between 257 and 267 fps. Well, if you just want pure performance, which you do, then the 7900 gre is your best bet.
  14. Yeah I am thinking you might want to reach out to Corsair support and see about a replacement cable for this power supply. Their customer care is pretty good and they might replace your cables free of charge.
  15. Budget (including currency): $1500 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite, OW2, Fallout 4, Cyberpunk, AC in a mix of 1080P and 4K gaming depending on the game. (The only things I want to stick with in all the builds are the dual chamber/angled PC Cases) Build Choice #1 https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/t6kDsh Build Choice #2 https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/dqckrv Build Choice #3 https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/jVJwvj
  16. According to the picture from their product page the cable seems to should say "pcie" not "vga."
  17. Well, RGB is something important to include in the build. However, it's the components that will get the fps, not the lighting. I'd rather prioritize the performance. the 4070 ti super is noticeably better than the 4070 super, and the 7700x and the 7500f are comparable in performance, even if the 7700f has more cores or clock speeds. However, the build @Why_Me suggested will probably give your gf enough performance and looks a bit better. Its really your choice.

  19. Considering the newer existence of tools using the Apple Game Porting Toolkit and other software like it (Something like this software called Whisky or crossover), I'd love to see a video covering how easy/hard it is to run "windows only" games on the mac. For example, I installed and ran cyberpunk 2077 on my m3 macbook air and it worked surprisingly well. To see the difference between older games to newer ones and actually gain some decent reasoning behind some decreased performance in older games compared to new. Sonic adventure 2 battle only runs at about 10FPS in game vs the almost 30FPS that Cyberpunk 2077 managed.
  20. Just strap fans to it and call it a day
  21. Budget (including currency): CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming 95%+ of the time. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello LTT Forums, I'm looking for a small discusion if possible to inlight my futur build. =) Current Rig: -Monitor: Asus ROG PG279 (G-Sync) -CPU: Intel i7-6700K -Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 -MB: Asus Z170-A -RAM: 16GB 3200Mhz -GPU: Asus GTX 1080 Strix OC 8GB -PSU: Corsair HX850W -OS: Win10 Here's a few games that I play: Final Fantasy 14, Baldur's Gate 3, DCS, Squad. My usual setting are 1440p (High/Max settings) I'm also still using an optical drive to play my older games: Command and Conquer 3, Sim City 3000, Disciple 2 to name a few. I'm currently looking at this upgrade: -Monitor: Asus ROG PG279 (G-Sync) -CPU: Intel i7-14700K -Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 (upgrade kit) -MB: Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus (because of the price atm) -RAM: 32GB 5600Mhz -GPU: Asus GTX 1080 Strix OC 8GB (waiting on RTX 5000 release) -PSU: Corsair HX850W -OS: Win10 I sold my soul nvidia for the GPU, I won't switch to an AMD GPU. But I'm wondering on the CPU. I'm used to always buy Intel (due to the games that I play). I've even recommended the 7800X3D to some of my friends and view the Intel as a bad budget choice. I feel I should get a 7800X3D but apart of me feels I'll be missing out or have trouble with some of my games... I do small OC to none. ATM, I've OC my current rig with the XMP to 12% according to my Asus Motherboard. Here's one of the problem I see: If I go Intel, I won't have enough cable with my current PSU to power 2x CPU socket (the HX850W only comes with 1x8-pin). I will have some space to none for a slight OC. If I go AMD, I'll have more room for OC since they tend to be less power hungry. If the LTT community could help me making "the right choice", I'd really appreciate. (sorry english isn't my 1st language)

Dad's mid-80s Datsun truck project car is much the same way. When we first got it, the engine would burn every fluid under the hood in equal proportion. Before we got around to replacing the old piston rings and oil filter, it'd burn about half oil half gasoline. It also would vaporize all of the coolant in the radiator in a few minutes before we tightened some connections and replaced hoses; it got to the point where we'd carry a big jug of water to pour in the radiator every 40 miles or so on long drives because the coolant vanished so fast. About 80% of the engine, funnily enough, consists of the exact same parts used in the 240Z. Manuals, documentation, and aftermarket parts from the Skyline/Z tuning community made most repairs quite simple. Top of the engine block is stamped "240Z", I like to show people that and tell 'em I've put a racecar engine in the truck as if it was not there for the past 40 years.
  23. I agree; hence why I mentioned 'intent'.

It literally had a manic episode as I drove into Jersey. Apparently some Mk7 jettas got fitted with sensors that either fail prematurely or read incorrectly. I didn't panic after seeing there WAS indeed oil, because my last car would have phantom dipstick drying until you ran the engine for a few miles. Mind you, that Sonata did also guzzle oil at about a quart every 1250 miles at the end of its life. Never needed an oil change past 125k because it was just constantly being topped off as it burned oil full Car radiator water cooling video.
