Personal build and career details

Hello

If you guys were keeping up with my profile and if you saw that I'm a video game developer major and I'm going into the video game industry within the next couple of years. Certainly the games that I plan on making are AAA games that not only sets a new benchmark on graphics details, but also sets a new benchmark on how well-written the story and the characters are, so you will experience what would quite be like watching a movie, but you have control of the characters that are present.

Now if you saw that I plan on budgeting out USD $6,800 on the tower and I plan on snagging up a pair of Titan X's for my graphics setup, but I attracted some backfire and I tried to justify my wants, but that attracting even more criticism that is of bad taste (e.g. blatant criticism, not constructive). So here's my quote from the topic in the New Builds and Planning forums:

VRAM: It's just the beginning. There's only one game right now and there will be more coming soon, and it can happen real fast (I'm not sure how fast from others, but it can and will happen). Also what I've stated above too is that I'm a video game developer major, and when I enter the video game industry, I'll be using that 12GB to its fullest advantage for game development to push the boundaries and the quality to unprecedented heights. So I'll be either the first one to actually use more than 6GB or leading the way to aural perfection in video games.

I agree that the 980Ti's are really close to the Titan X in terms of raw performance, but what I pointed out that it is limited by the 6GB of VRAM. Game developers are starting to utilize and tap into more and more VRAM, so at some point those 980Ti's isn't going to be able to keep up with the game's demanding graphics power so the Titan X's is going to last longer because it has double the memory. Now I plan on using the 12GB of VRAM to its fullest extent to push the quality of the game's graphics to unprecedented heights like no other, effectively making the games themselves totally unique and also setting those benchmarks that I want to set along with the writing as well, so not only will you be experiencing new character and environment models, new textures, and the like, you will be experiencing something totally unique, as if you were watching AND playing a movie at the same time! That's what I want to get out of people as well.

What are my objectives in the industry?

  • Set new groundbreaking technological and visual breakthroughs
  • Set a new standard of story and character writing
  • Revive the classical difficulty that players once encountered with old games: Difficult even on "Easy", but very rewarding if they tried hard enough.
  • Set a new standard of gameplay by using gameplay mechanics never seen used in unison before
  • Create the industry's first-ever game rated E for everyone that uses realistic, lifelike graphics

I know many of you will think these are too steep for me. But I know I will take it slow at first, then I shall execute my plans to complete my objectives, making them achievements of my life because then I have achieved something meaningful to me because then either they will start following me in my wake or I'm leading the charge. AAA games really has an impact on all studios because AAA games themselves makes a profound statement on both the directors and designers that made it and the studios at which the games were developed. If you didn't know what AAA means, this is what it means, in all A's

A: The game uses graphics details that is at or near the top, or ahead of current technological capabilities
A: The game garners generally positive or critical acclaim from publications (85% or better)
A: The game sells very well: 1 million or more within the first 24 hours or week

AAA games are characterized by their very large budgets that goes into development of the games and the marketing that goes into it as well. But most AAA games I've seen and heard of are either poorly written with attention being paid to their graphical details, or vice versa. For all of my games, I will develop them with writing first and graphics details second. Essentially people may give me the title of "The James Cameron of the Video Game Industry", but that may not happen. If they ever give me the title, would I bother about it? Mostly no because I'm not going to be truly like him, but certain elements of his developmental style of his films I really idolize and I'm going to use those in video games, but I'm not going to steal his writing or his themes because stealing is wrong. But my writing style is going to be unique from him. He has his own writing, I have my own. End of story.

I live and breathe perfection in the arts, media and entertainment because if it looks good up close, it looks good from far away. Now the type of perfectionism I am going to mold it into is a positive aspect as quoted here

In a positive form, perfectionism can provide the driving energy which leads to great achievement. The meticulous attention to detail, necessary for scientific investigation, the commitment which pushes composers to keep working until the music realises the glorious sounds playing in the imagination, and the persistence which keeps great artists at their easels until their creation matches their conception all result from perfectionism. -From the Wikipedia article "Perfectionism (psychology)" Under section "Positive aspects"

This quote above is what drives people to great achievement because their work realizes its glorious conceptual piece one has ever held into their heads and they have finally unleashed it the way they imagined it. This is what I want to unleash with all of my games too so that people like this community who plays AAA games can see what I have in store for all to bask in.

I want to and I will excel in my dreams and my skills and my passion because this is what I want to do since I've discovered my passion for both video games and 3D Animation and Modeling in high school, and now writing in college. It can only happen so fast and I'm glad that I have finally found what I really want to do to attain what I have busted my ass for. And also it's quite the opportunity now that I'm learning all the skills and programs that are necessary for my work.

It's just what I have in mind. I'm not going to explain everything so as to not let others steal my ideas. They're general goals that I want to conquer when I enter the industry.
