Ok, first some context. Today was the award and diploma ceremony at my school. You know, the day where all the smart kids get some recognition.

It also means that parents have what I like to call the equivalent of "e-peen" contests, "s-peen" contests (school peen). Parents just gather around in little groups and start rubbing in each other's faces what their kid did. "Oh, my kid had the best grade in Math of the school!" "Mine had the best Sciences one!", what are you even trying to do? We all know your kid is a good student but it's the kid's effort, not yours. It wasn't you that did all the exercises and studied hard, you might have helped but it's the kid's effort.

It's like your s-peen grows 3 inches when you hear "the best...", "the most...", and it's like that is some kind of drug and you just want more, so your kid get's stressed and you can't handle a teacher that doesn't give your kid the highest grade, even if he really didn't deserve it.
