Why pair an i5 with that card? If you're aiming for 1080 gaming, get an i3 or even an AMD chip and save all the $.

 

That i5 is $190usd right now at newegg. Why not get a newer i3 that is even less and have the newest things, more pci fun and all. A new i3 is like $120 and is stronger per core, should be cheaper to run. DDR4 is and will only continue to get better than DDR3, and costs the same.

 

And if you're set on an i5, the newest one is only around $220, so an extra $30 to get the newer, better platform seems like a no-brainer to me.
