Researchers have warned that we will be more easily forget the information we can get from our cell phones, such as the important numbers of our family, a person's address or even important dates. Scientists say, Digital Amnesia is the result of adaptation of our brain where information can easily get as mobile phones and the Internet are always available and easily accessible.

Security firm Kaspersky Lab said "The connected device did help our daily lives, but they also lead to the emergence of Digital Amnesia in our brain. ' As a consumer, it is important for us all to understand the long term implications of this effect, and why we need to be diligent in view of the information and protect memories and our precious memories.

    maxresdefault-696x392.jpg

Kaspersky Lab conducted a study of 1,000 consumers in the United States consisting of age 16 years and over and found signs of Digital Amnesia found in all age groups and both men and women equal.

The survey resulted that 91 percent of consumers recognize their dependence on the internet and smartphones as a means to store information or retrieve information and become a kind of additional memory of their brains.
These findings also indicate that our inability to save important information is due to the fact that we hand over responsibility to remember to a digital device.

Almost half (44%) of survey participants said that their smartphones to store almost everything they needed to know or recall.

It is not surprising that the research conducted by Kaspersky Lab also found that the loss or compromise of data stored on digital devices and smartphone in particular, will make many users overwhelmed.

More than half (51%) of female respondents and nearly the same amount of users aged 25 to 34 years (49%) will be overwhelmed with grief that hit because they have memories stored on their devices they believe memories will not return when the device is damaged or missing. A quarter of female respondents and 35% of respondents of young people (16-24) will panic: the device they are the only place where they store pictures and contact information.

Very scary .... what do you think about digital amnesia ?

Hi, I am Polish immigrant that came to US couple years ago. Back in Poland I use to play only on PCs (Old Laptop). In US everyone of my friends and family are playing on consoles; I had no choice so I bought my first console (PS3). Couple months after that I bought my second console (PS4) but everyday I was thinking about all days when I was PC gamer. 1 year after that I decided to build my PC and come back to old days of PC Gaming. That's why I am here; I plan to spend at least 1,500$ on this project. It will take me a lot of time to get money for (at least 1 year) but dreams become true.....

I am attempting my first PC case mod, and thought that the LTT forums would be a good place to get some help.I am using a CM Storm Stryker case, and would like to turn it into a Star wars themed build.

I am looking for any ideas that fall into the white, black, and red color scheme that I'm going for, so feel free to post any ideas.

    Stipulations:

-I have no problem painting my case, but I will not cut it. However, I am not a painter, I will more than likely be spray painting a stencil.

-I am a broke college kid, I don't have much walking around money, so nothing too crazy (more than $700 US)

-This is not a passion build, this is my first computer. I do not have a backup, so I need functional and reliable concepts

    what I need help with:

    - Custom water cooling loop: hard or soft? Rad? pump? liquid? reservoir? Blocks?

    - New PSU: something fully modular

    - Leds

    - Fans

I'm excited to see what people have to say, no ideas will be shot down.

Hello guys, i really need someone to help me.
I am going to build a "super" computer and i have chosen a lot of parts for it, but I am not sure that every thing "fits" like if the PSU i not good enoght to power the hole system, or the motherboard is a bad chose for the processer or something, so I am asking for help, so if someone can take a look on all the parts and say if there is some problems I will be happy.
    Thanks Danny

NASA confirms liquid water flows on Mars!

This isn’t tech, just ignore that fact.

During the planet’s warmer seasons, water exists along the surface of mars. Holy crap. This data comes from NASA’s MRO spacecraft that studies the planet’s orbit. Streaks formed by the water confirm it is salt water. Before this, we only thought water was on Mars, we didn’t have confirmation. Now, we do. This is amazing.

We know that 4 BILLION years ago that Mars was home to an ocean, but in 4 BILLION years stuff changes.

Also, let’s not forget that the Mars curiosity rover’s research? has shown that water may be under Mars too.

So what is the big deal? Didn’t we know that water was on Mars? Yes, but not 100% confirmation. This pretty much much confirms it.

So Mars is capable of Human life right? Wrong. Temperatures on Mars drop to -80 degrees fahrenheit, and only get up to 70 degrees fahrenheit. That is some seriously cold temperatures. I can’t stand 60 degrees F, no way -80. Although, living where I do, -10s is normal in the winter.

    Conclusion:
So, this is a cool thing, but Mars is still useless. We do need a planet to fall back on when we kill this one, but Mars won’t be it. Those temperatures are liveable for some people, but for me, hell no. We knew about water on Mars before, but know we are 100% sure. Is it just me, or is NASA dropping BILLIONS into Mars, when we know it is almost useless, in my opinion. Dang it just tell us that Martians are real! Isn’t that what we all want to know?

  3. I had a conversation with some guy that told me the z97-k motherboard was better than my z97-a as a new builder I looked up the specs and didn't find much difference between the two please educate me further on this matter, thank you.

The simple issue is that -after much googles- I still don't know how to set up different backgrounds on my different screens in Windows 10. I don't know why this can't just be as easy as it was on Windows 8, but the option doesn't seem to be there D:

    Hey guys!

I need your guys help! I would like to buy an external monitor because my laptop has a 14" monitor and when gaming or doing anything else its a little too small, any recommendations?

I was looking at the ultrawide monitors, but I'm afraid that my laptop won't run the 21:9 ratio...
    I have a lenovo Y40-70.

Games I play are: World of Warships, Total war shogun 2, Tropico 3 and 4 and sometimes maybe a shooter... any suggestions? My budget is like 220 max since the laptop was only 300 $!

Hello everyone!! I am ridiculously new to this site (well just 5 mins old in this site at the time I was writing!!) and to be honest, this is probably the first blog I've ever written (don't get me wrong, but this blog thing always flies by me!).

Well enough bla bla... let's get to business (I guess)! They say life's hardest decision is to make a career choice and all those that follow. WRONG! The hardest thing to decide is what parts you're gonna choose for your next build. I think you all will agree with me!! :P

And as you guys already figured, I'm in a jeopardy about my cpu choice for my next build. And the problem is caused by two budget oriented serious players; intel core i3 4160 and amd fx-6300. I decided to go for amd. Then couple of hours later, I changed my mind! Well the next morning I assured myself that no matter what I'm getting amd over intel.... (well you got the picture I guess!!)

I researched a lot, watched a ton of videos, read a lot of reviews, user reviews, surfed every corner of the internet for a little more information. And guess what, the decision is even harder now!! :(

Now, like everyone else; I myself have some unique situations going on! Let's break them down...

    1. I'm building a purely gaming rig. I have an i7 laptop that does pretty well in other operations. And as I'm not a pro (well might have to do some solid works and designing as my university will force me to), heavy duty operations are out of the window. The rig will be used for gaming 200%!!!
    2. I am an upgrader (if that's the word!). So in the long run, I will upgrade things (well not for next 8/9 months). That option is open.
    3. In my country, an i3 is cheaper (overall) than the fx. I won't use an aftermarket cooler if I choose i3 (but have to for the fx). So there are some savings!

Now, I will couple my cpu up with an R9 390 and 2X4 DDR3 (1600). I want everything maxed out (in all games possible) in a 1080p with 60 FPS (might consider 1/2 settings medium for the FPS) for the next 12 months (well none may assure me of that, but hey, let's try!!).

I don't care if you're an intel fanboy. I don't care if you're an amd fanboy. I don't care if you're an apple fanboy (if that's a thing!!). Please flood it with your views, opinions, comments and everything else!! I am lost here, and I'll use every bit of info you guys will provide!! Just focus on the cpu, that's the request! Let's put the gpu for another day!!

    So, i3 4160 or fx-6300??
    HELP... PLEASE!!! :(

  7.

    Hey LTT,

I have been absent from this awesome community for little bit, trying to collect my life; starting my last year of high school, doing upgrades to my now 1.5k PC, and I am now hit with a dilemma. IM BORED

I'm not talking like just usual bored because I have nothing to do, or do I? I loved building my current PC, with it's MSI and Red theme, to it's 12GB and crossfire dream.

But after accomplishing that, I am bored of it. I love it, and it plays all my favorite games, but I can never be truly happy unless I am elbow deep inside a computer. Mine doesn't need anything else.

So this is where I talk about code name, "Starter Pack". I have plans, since I am restricted to having one PC at a time by the owner of my house, my grandmother, to sell my beautiful PC I have, and set for a new feat. An affordable x99 gaming setup.

The reason for the name Starter Pack is quite what it means, a "Starter Pack" for x99 enthusiasts. And since I now have an opportunity to use the resources I have to record it, I might as well try and do a build log. I have never done one, and am fascinated by the art of showing off a build as it happens. But I need my current setup for rendering, recording, etc.

So I guess it's time to start saving for the parts. I am looking at about 1.3k give or take when it is all set and done. and if I can quickly sell my current setup, and get everything rolling, I can have the new PC up and ready to edit the build log ASAP.

Well, I am glad I have this off my chest, seems like the only people who would care to read or listen are on LTT, noone I know even comprehend how to remove a program from thier computer, let alone understand what I am talking about here.

For the TL;DR guys, here you go.:https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Nerd4L1F3/saved/#view=PNpkcf

I want to go for the nice blue/black/white accent colour scheme. It's different to me.

There you guys go, and If you guys know of any ways I can make this build any better without breaking the bank, I will take it all in.

    a scrap build in progress
materials that will be used in this project will be most of all from scrap
or can be found just around my house

reasons for this project is lack of budget and
to increase my skills being a modder.

This project is named CIR (Comeback Is Real)
because i failed my 500R build because of my GPU's
breakdown, now i am still waiting for it.

So this is my second build with the R4. This one is going to officially be my backup/second computer. It has some parts from a previous rig, plus a couple of new things I bought. So the specs are:

    i7 4770k
    MSI GD-65 Z87
    XFX 7950 Double Dissipation
    16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum
    Corsair CX750
    250GB Samsung 840 Evo
    1TB WD Black
    Some TP-Link Wifi Card
Stock Cooler (bleh... will be changed eventually)
and of course a Fractal Design Define R4

So I wanted to make it a really clean, and simple build. This is about the best/cleanest cable management that I have ever done. Really no big modifications were done to the case. Only thing I did was remove the middle drive bays, and the things that hold it in place. I wrapped the CD drive bay, and the other hard drive bay with carbon fiber. Next time I do a CD drive bay wrap, I'm going to make sure that there isn't a concave dent in it from the design of the bay. I am really happy the way it came out. I like the big blank spot where the hard drive bay use to be, and the look of the carbon fiber wrap. If I were to change anything, it would probably be getting a real cooler, and sleeving the cables. But really for just a backup/second computer, this is more than enough.blogentry-29658-0-73794400-1441330550_thblogentry-29658-0-56931300-1441330552_thblogentry-29658-0-89417200-1441330553_thblogentry-29658-0-42312200-1441330555_thblogentry-29658-0-75025900-1441330556_thblogentry-29658-0-64967000-1441330558_thblogentry-29658-0-65236400-1441330560_th

Ill make sure its in a timely manner

    He said... He lied... :(

Sorry for the lack of updated mates, but ive literally been so occupied with work that i didnt have any time to work on this. But i have good news :D Ive had some time today, and ive rethought the PSU and front fans mounting method. So i came up with this thing. The solid plate glues to the inside left side panel, with the fans separating the PSU from the motherboard area. I plan on making the holes for the cables in the "fan side" so they come out more or less flush with the motherboard. hopefully there will be a few more days of less work so i can finish this :D

Anyway, here is the thingy thing

  9. Hey guys,

I currently own a Z7 based system with a 3770K CPU. I am a storage hog, so need a board with tons of SATA ports on it as I hate external storage, lost too many to count. I have been searching for days, only to find out that none of my favourite OEMs make such a board. ASUS has 10 to 12 at most, Gigabyte 10 etc...

As it turns out only AsRock seem to think of people like me. Only this board is hard to find locally. I have to order it online which will cost quite a bundle for a few generations old board. Is this boaed any good ? Has anyone tried AsRock before ? I have no idea if this brand is any good since I have never used them. I only know of Intel, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and the likes.

Anyone know of another brand that makes boards with Storage in mind like AsRock ?

    Thanks ;)
