Thank you guys for the fast reponse! I thought the same that you need to start over to find out what ddr5 speeds it can run but I was wondering if there was a link between the 2 generations. 2 real reasons I'm thinking about switching to DDR5. 1. I mainly play a game called Escape from Tarkov, it's extremely CPU/RAM intensive and even 10% will go a long way, yes the game is badly optimized as well.. 2. As a hobby I'm making videos such as gameplay/benchmarks and comparisons for Escape from Tarkov and I'm some what interested in making content around DDR4 vs DDR5.

Would it be possible to roughly estimate the DDR5 speed I could run on my CPU based on my current DDR4 kit? (let's assume in this example the motherboard would be able to run DDR5 8000mhz) info/example: I'm running a 14700KF with DDR4 4000mhz cl18 in Gear 1. Based on this info could you roughly say what DDR5 speed this CPU can handle? or is comparing ddr4 vs ddr5 not possible because the IMC runs way different between the two ddr generations? I'm probably explaining this badly.. but I hope I explained it well enough lol

I don't have much to add to what the guys above me already said but I don't know when you're planning on buying the 7900XTX but I would wait a little bit longer, the 4080Super is launching on the 31st and you could see some more price drops ont he XTX.

NZXT H9 Flow + RTX 4090 Aorus Master - Please Help...
wildgg replied to 0xsomeone's topic in Cases and Mods
I understand your situation but just run the PC without the side panel so you can atleast use the damn thing lol... The post above from @TatamiMatt should help you as it will work in your case as well. -
Cables on Thermaltake PF3 PSU enough for 3090?
wildgg replied to CephDigital's topic in Power Supplies
altho im not a fan of those splitter cables personally, you should be fine as you're also getting 75W from the pci slot. -
Hey, Is there a program that allows me to change my RAM speed in windows like changing CPU speeds with Intel XTU. This would be a nice tool for benchmarking stuff I do with some games that don't have build in benchmarks. Thx.

Nvidia Warranty/RMA Hell... 2 broken replacements and no further forward
wildgg replied to PepsiSax's topic in Graphics Cards
I would definitely consider small claims, most will settle but even if they don't you have a pretty strong case here. I also found it funny that the NVIDIA rep via reddit completely ignored the bent bracket issue.. GL! -
plugin the 6800XT, run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), at some point you can select if you want the pc to shut down to install a new card > install 7900xtx and install latest drivers.

Simple overclock massive gain in games ryzen 5900x
wildgg replied to remo233's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
flawed testing. 200mhz doesn't gain you 40fps. -
Yes unless that ''dent'' is to deep but it doesn't look like it. I'd repaste and see how she runs.
-
have you tried without using the riser cable?
-
can you share what RAM(mhz,cl, amount of sticks) you have and what in-game settings you are running?
-
if it's been recently made probably yes but I doubt it. If you buy it in a store or online shop you can ask them to update the bios for you if possible. If the board has bios flashback it's very easy to update the bios your self.

With the more ''liquid'' style pastes no, you'd have to buy a paste that is ''thicker'' or more ''dry'' that doesn't suffer from the pump out effect. imo, having to repaste a GPU every 12 to 18 months is not a bad thing, gives you a good excuse to fully clean it off dust etc while you're at it
