Giving my iPad to my dad when I get a new laptop

So my dad said that he was getting a new laptop for me, and he also commented that he really liked my iPad.

Considering that the iPad was a gift and I hate iOS in every imaginable sense, I am considering giving my iPad to my dad when I get the new laptop. All I ever do on it is watch YouTube and browse the LinusTechTips forum, all of which can be easily run on my new laptop. He did mention an i5 processor in said laptop, which is a huge-ass upgrade over my Celeron M. He did not mention what particular laptop, however.

So do you think it's worth it to give an iPad Air to him when I get a laptop? Please vote in the poll and discuss in the comments.

P.S. My dad is a techie, if that influences your decision in any way.

I am getting the laptop if I take either road, however I feel it would be decent to give the iPad to him considering I am an anti-Apple person.

what laptop are you getting, ASUS G750JZ?

Don't know, not recieving specifics on said laptop. A G750JZ would be awesome. Let me go find pricing on it.

dude, if the laptop has got a strong, longlife battery so you can use it while you're "on the road" i'd say - yes surprise your dad and give him the laptop. Otherwise i'd think of something else to surprise him with and make him  happy.

I would give him the laptop for sure. I've been in that situation also, I was getting a new phone for my birthday and my sister had just smashed hers. So instead of selling my iPhone I gave it to her. I don't really like the iPhones, I don't mind Apple but the iPhones are dirty things. Beautiful, but dirty. I got the iPhone as a birthday present from my uncle to doesn't really know me anyway.
