  1. @lalorozco4 No worries, no need to measure the bracket that is standardised, it is the distance from the back to the hard drive cage that is the x variable however if it's roughly the same width as a mostly motherboard I'd guestimate it's 9 inches across +- with some tolerance. Do you need the dvd/cd? A bit random but what's your favourite colour?
  2. Hi @lalorozco4 how do you do? Not a bad PC by any stretch of the imagination if you know what you're doing. You can always check; The manufacturer's website using the product/serial number of your device i.e. your computer Pressing the delete key whilst booting the system allows you BIOS access https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c03808397 <- this is your computer's specifications according to HP support. CPU model (operating speed, temperature) RAM (Speed in Mhz, how many slots you have for expansion, size measure in GBs) Motherboard SKU (though it'll be quite generic) According to the support page currently installed is capable of 320watts. My recommendation as a new user is to firstly power down the system remove the side panel with a screw driver (typically phillips head) locate any loose cables from the power supply that aren't connected (Only the 24pin, 4+4 cpu or molex/sata power should be connected to active devices in your case.) take a picture of the overall layout for future reference once you've become accustom to troubleshooting/installing new components All of the recommended discrete graphics cards HP lists that can be installed draw a max of 75watts directly from the PCI-E slot however if there is a loose cable that looks like the 4+4 for the cpu might be enough to power a discrete mid tier graphics card. The monitor you have mentioned "32" lg ultra wide maxes at 144hz at 1080p the other is a 27" lg maxes at 60hz at 4k" can you provide a model name? If you do wish to go down the route of buying a discrete graphics card would help to have native display cables for ease of use. I can edit this post or send a new one once you've read and found this information useful. I can't find any schematic of the size but you might be able to get away with a full size gpu however you'll need to do some eye-balling measurement or grab a ruler to accurately gauge how much space is available.
  3. Besides Linus's video and OC3D there isn't much information to debate which cooler is "the best" as the best has bias based on said user. RTX 3080 FE according to nvidia's chart and what Linus mentions in his "both increase thermals of the cpu/ram" the heat blown from the right fan causing a higher core temp in comparison. Perhaps it would be necessary to isolate the heat exchange used in servers/high-end workstations using fans to seperate airflow + temperature. Tomorrow is the set date when anyone in the UK can (pre)order said card from whichever vendor your heart desires but who knows if it's worth their money. Having said that it might be a few days or week(s) till thorough testing is published. https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/gpu-nvidia/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-graphics-cards#:~:text=Featuring 8704 CUDA cores and, resolution monitor or VR headset.&text=Available from 17th September.
  4. Hey @Paul_Johnson I'd like to ask which game titles are you playing "I'm currently gaming at 4k, 60hz but barely,"? is there any performance metric you can give as a reference? At this present time, it doesn't appear any reviewer's (videos and written) have shared or included many of the referenced titles that the supposedly RTX 3080 take advantage of game titles like BF5, Minecraft, Quake 2, Autodesk Arnold etc. I do realise yes Linus & TTL of OC3D mention Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Metro Exodus, Blender and V-Ray but what is your use case? If you follow hardware_canucks via instagram, they posted a few IG stories yesterday evening that the RTX 3080 on their bench-marking machine which I think was a X299 system with a Noctua NH-D15 the installation of the card is quite tight or doesn't fit, I can no longer view it since it's more than 24hrs old
  5. Good evening! @Terry Kidumms Sorry I haven't made a reply. Is this your ISP's website (https://www.iskon.hr/)? I would definitely save your money if I were you as I don't think it would be justified to spend your money on a expensive router if the current internet speeds are only capable of 8mbps down 0.2mbps up.
  6. Hey @Terry Kidumms! Welcome to the LTT forums How are you doing? Firstly who is your current mobile provider? You say your area's 4G cellular capabilities aren't great but what is the performance typically like during off & peak hours of the day for yourself? Are you bound into a contract or pay as you go for data? I used to have a 4G ISP which provided the router & unlimited data plan for about £20 in the London, UK. The speeds weren't too bad but in my opinion I expected this solution to be more capable since I live in a quite centralized area, the performance was typically around 20mbit/s down with 5-10 up (could go up to 50mbit/s down but uploads performance was never something Relish UK pushed to be a feature), with 100-200ms ping however I did also think of buying a third-party 4G LTE router or dongle & dedicated wireless router with more ethernet ports for connections.
  7. Arctis 7 = Do I want to smell like a shoe box ?

  8. My keyboard is a MX Green CMStorm and my mouse is an older Razer Mamba 2012 edition, I want the to be in for the headphones.
  9. It'll be a little bit blurry but that shouldn't halt you from buying a new monitor if that's your choice.
  10. So I'm scratching my head thinking, didn't Linus release Scrapyard wars S4 like a couple days ago or did nobody from LMG remember that it was gonna be a big hit especially how it's become more radically popular. I need my daily feed of content on a day by day basis ;-/

  11. Maybe they could manufacture a wireless charging mouse mat? I'd patent that shit. Seeming that you say the battery life isn't quite "perfect" I'd say that's decent for 30+ hours but definitely not as sound like other mice they make like the performance MX series. The design is great & I'd agree with you.
  12. Hello, what gpu do you have since you haven't listed any specs? also what game to which are you referring to?
  13. The VR headsets presumably uses biconvex lenses so you're capable of looking at a magnified image mirrored to both eyes (the smidgen in the middle is overlapped due to the way the human brain processes visual images/livefeed) http://www.passmyexams.co.uk/GCSE/physics/concave-lenses-convex-lenses.html When wearing something like Cardboard, I would agree that due to the low fps of current smartphones that headaches/or motion sickness with be a consistent disadvantage of using your smartphone display as a competitive comparision to a dedicated VR headset like the Rift or Vive. Typically it's advisable to take a 20-30 min break & allow your eyes to look at objects in to the distance say 20+m to enable your eyes to recuperate from long periods of short distance viewing (blinking in different sequences can helps the eyes adjust in a number of ways). What are you using to look at VR videos from .09 of an inch? that's not possible 0.09 in = 0.2286 cm Are the images blurry or crystal clear?
  14. If you take a look on newegg.com under; all products > desktop computers > desktop computers (Newegg site < here). You can pretty much allocate certain tiers of performance/features for what kind of pc you want (similar to what pcpartpicker.com does) Then you can search through the query to find the one best for you budget, need & performance. I did scan over a couple of the products & they're all fairly inexpensive but I wouldn't guarantee that you'll always be using it for F@H since they aren't all that powerful at the budget of 150 dollars in all reality, more oriented around general usage of a desktop office pc. Word processor, surfing the web etc. I'd say at the moment save your dollars for now is my best advice for now.
  15. @TheGhzGuy What are you currently using? A desktop pc or a laptop? or maybe even a tablet. If you want to invest into f@h I wouldn't ever say don't buy a cheap pc & boom your settle but if you save a little longer & spend a bit more on a computer more powerful it maybe be more than worth your while.
