I'm trying to get a good OC on my 4790k. Its paired with a Z97 Asus Maximus VII Formula board, fairly high grade. It's cooled by a Cooler Master Nepton 240m, with the fans replaced by Corsair SP120 Performance editions.
I Run the pump off the CPU_Opt, the rad off the CPU_Fan. I Have set an OC of 4600MHz (100BCLK, 46 Multi, 1.27v adaptive)
Each time i run an AIDA64 FPU test, it shoots straight into overheating territory. When i run it at stock, the same test sends it up to around 92-96°C.
Am i doing something wrong? Voltage too high? shitty cooling solution? Poorly seated cooling block?
any help is much appreciated
edit: idle temps seem high at 44°C
