December 26th Ultimate AMD Value APU PC Build Guide

This ultimate build guide is a little different from previous ones. Normally we feature a lot of hardware that's beyond the financial reach of most viewers, and also beyond their needs. Today is more of a "back to basics" build guide, and the first one we've ever done with AMD as a title sponsor, so we want to give a big shout-out to them for making it possible.

 

 

Below is a list out the components included as well as a source or two for where you can get them  :)

 

 

I can't tell you where to buy this stuff, but I do lean towards NCIX for the Canadians (and International viewers if their pricing and shipping costs work out for you) because they're my bros, and for Americans the Amazon links below are affiliate links, so of course every little bit helps  :)

Just a guess but I think he may have copied a components list from another post and hasn't finished changing them all yet.

been a while since you have done one of these, i just wish that it wasnt so hard to do them anymore because you have done pretty much everything now :/ but keep up the awesome work

 

They are an incredible amount of work. They take about 2-3 weeks worth of man-hours to produce (the water cooled one was closer to 4), so they're very expensive. Not many manufacturers can afford the sponsorship that pays for us to make them, especially because part of the terms from our side is that aside from including one of their components they don't get any say in the process...

 

They don't even get to pick which of their components we use unless we agree on it...  This ensure that we end up with GOOD, unbiased build guides, which improves the value of them for the viewers now and in the future, but not all companies are that... open minded. We aren't willing to be flexible about this, however, so only Intel and AMD have engaged with us on these so far.

 

Next year you might see a new sponsor though... It'll be someone very unexpected ;)

I haven't watched the video fully yet, but the title is misleading, It does have an APU, but seeing as though it has also got a dedicated GPU too.

Also if someone were to build a similar combo with a quad-core FX for slightly less, could that give them the option for a slightly better GPU?

Also I think this build is perfect for an HTPC, if it were in a suitable case and would be quite capable of being a game stream receiver (like shield) when that eventually gets implemented in various software like steam.

Hello guys

Please tell me what to write in google besides the model of the device to find out the appropriate driver . For example for device X i have to search ven_dev_stringX? X beeing the hardware ids value from Device manager?

those 4k zooms

 

Their 4K equipment isn't ready yet.

 

Plus, if you look carefully, its not actually zooming. Its just a sort of motion blur transition to a close-up footage.

Man! The intro music is amazing!! Can I get it somewhere? I mean the previous one is cool enough (we don't talk about the family friendly one... ever ;) ) but that one's just awesome! It's on the same level as some of the best stuff on OC Remix in my opinion!
